I am sure a Flux mass driver would be popular with Commandos. Nice part is that the Mass Driver, the grenades, and all associated animations are already in the game.

Minmitar Light AV Weapon: AV Mass Driver : Shoots AV grenades. AV rounds would probably be lower damage than AV grenades, or maybe not homing. Only detonate on contact with a vehicle.
