Guys, 'internet weather' is slang for 'unknown variable within the South-East regions internet connection'.
There's NOTHING wrong with the patch. Because the patch is copy and pasted to every user in the game. If something was wrong with the patch, we'd all have the issue, and not just a few of us in a certain region.
Lay off CCP, quit frothing out the mouth, and don't say something unless you know what you're talking about. do you know what youre talking about?

I have a pretty good idea of the situation, yes.
People (number unknown) within the South-East region of the U.S. are having problems updating the client. The problem has not been reported in any other part of the world (from what I've seen). Regardless, 5000 people are not having the issue, so it can't be the patch, or else no one would be able to install the update.
Considering the variables, I'd deduct that it has something to do with the connection in the South-East that's causing something with their patch. |

It's understandable that many are impatient. Just be glad your not the person getting yelled at if you were in the same position with impatient customers with pitchfork stuck in their AR yelling at you on fixing their Technical issues.
It seems strangely odd looking at all the previous comments that everyone seem to be on the Eastern Seaboard of the US as well.

5382 people are online playing right now.. waging war across molden heath or just in pub matches...
just imagine.. that good possible 700 or so other people or more/less with the issue we're having.. the dust server could possibly hit 7000 maybe... just maybe 8000 :3 is it too much to hope? :P
(btw.. who else has noticed that if you go into a random pub match even though theres about 5000+/- people online you seem to bump into the same people A LOT) |

For future reference, I don't respond to rudeness of name calling. Any comments that include these in the future will be ignored.
My point is that, if the patch itself was the issue, since everyone received the same exact patch, would anybody be able to log on?
In order to fix this as quickly as possible, they have to include all the information in order to come to a conclusion as to what's causing the issue. 'The patch is broke!' doesn't help. They need to figure out what's causing it. |

I called my provider (Charter Communications) and spoke with the troubleshooting guys and explained the issue. Of course they answered with, "you need to contact Sony" as I knew they would. I was warming them up to inquire about the "internet weather" which was met with laughter. I then asked to speak to a Tier 2 advisor and went through some troubleshooting steps and got the same answer, "you need to contact sony", which I was expecting. I repeated the question about "internet weather" and again was met with laughter. He did tell me to "hold on", I heard some tapping/clicking and then he says, "nothing out of normal on the internet today. I just checked a few sites to see if there was something going on with maybe an Anonymous hack or heavy traffic and it all seems normal"..I thanked him and hung up...
