God dammit Regis, why are you still here? Why are you still playing this game? For what reason are you determined to just **** all over everything about this game for months on end? If it offends you so much, why are you still here? Uninstall the client and biomass your characters.
Feedback is fine, but all you're doing is just posting about how the game is terrible because it doesn't fit with your vision for it. That's not helpful. |

Why would you add more sprint speed with the way the strafe is. That makes no sense at all. I can fly across the map but I can't sidestep faster then an obese women. This game is turning into the Hellen Keller of fps games. Explain to me how it makes sense to be able to dodge ******* bullets with a sidestep? Aren't our weapons supposed to be better than real world weapons, which you can't do that with? One of the main issues people have been lamenting is the tendency to camp that apparently follows the slower strafe speed, so compensate by allowing people to cover more ground faster, which is actually useful and practical.
Stop comparing this "video game" to real life. We dont have FTL drives in real life. Can't inertia drop in real life. No clones in that can transfer thought and memory in real life. So your logic is completely flawed.

I have every right to still test this alpha build of Dust 514. If I don't tell CCP how bad there game is then all they have is a *** like you telling them how much of a good job there doing. Get your tongue out of there ass holes and pry your face away and maybe you would see how bad this **** is. So your logic is completely flawed. This is a video game if you want real life give everyone one life. No, I don't want real life. I think we all want a game that can be taken seriously, rather than being a circular dance-fest like some of the previous builds with all the stupid overpowered breach weapons and movement speed upgrades allowing you to run sideways faster than most people can straight.
I don't want reality, Regis, because reality is a lot like Arma, and while Arma is a good simulator, its not really that fun of a game. I want a game that we can all enjoy and that we can at least somewhat take seriously. When you shoot someone, you have to have good enough aim to land your shots. That in and of itself requires a certain level of ability on the part of the player. Reality or not, the weapons we're using are based on principle involving projectiles moving at very high speeds, and being able to do your Neo impression with other people's shots just gets ridiculous after a while. |

Hell, I just spent the day having more fun with this game than I've had in any previous build. Joined a Corp with some damn good players, and had even more fun working together with them to take apart the enemy team. The fact is that if Dust were as terrible as you say, there wouldn't be as many of us here playing it and enjoying it as their are. Oh and thanks to the PS+ entry, your little "evetard" excuse no longer holds water. Grow up. |

I dont see how hand/eye coordination relates to intelligence. Keep the "gun game" slow and "team work" a necessity. The number of options and available tactics is what could make this game not dumb. By nerfing strafe speed even more they are catering to casuals and scrubs with no gun game. This game is starting to feel like a CoD clone with high health. Okay, why does a high strafe speed automatically equal "skilled" gameplay? The "dance" is stupid. Because it takes more skill to hit a target in strafe than a target that moves like a snail. Evetards just want this game to be easy because they have garbage gun game. If ccp keeps listening to these idiots this game is going to fail after about a month or two.
You're half right.
Most Eve players probably do have garbage gun skills. I do. Do Eve players in general want an easy game so we can "win" in spite of garbage skills? No. Will some? Sure.
Will vet FPS players dominate Dust? You bet. We are still in Beta, but in the year following full release, Dust will have not only the forums we have, Dust will have CSM representation.
As to your quoted comment.. if I'm going to play a shooter having never played a shooter before, I'd rather see realistic infantry tactics brought to bear. Some of you folks are 11B, Deltas, etc. Is this combat?

Amen, but it also shouldn't be taken too far. I don't want to seem like I'm saying movement should be nerfed into the dirt, but having some reasonable limitations that force you to have to consider another approach than left-right-left-right-left-right is a good thing. |

Look, dancing like a fairy princess is not tactical. This is coming from a scout. I like it the way it is. Abusing the hit detection system is not tactical, it's cheating. I'll admit I did it in the last build. Running with a shotgun and two kinetics. I had literal squads of people trying to kill me while I took them out one by one.
I like it much better now. Is it really that hard to turn partially, and sprint jump to cover if you need to? Or use it as an evasive action? |

These "tactical" players obviously think slow means "tactical". MAG, a game that is mostly dead, by a company that no longer exists. Great example. If you want to talk about a game that emphasizes tactics, at least mention a better example like Planetside 2, which I also play. Funny thing is, given the choice, I would go with Dust, because there's just no sense of accomplishment in P2. You can take all of Indar before you go to bed, but the other factions will just push back and camp you into your sanctuary while you're offline. You can have a 40 minute battle over a major base, be on the cusp of a narrow victory, and then the enemy leaves, caps the smaller areas around the base, and it flips to them automatically due to influence.
They've changed those aspects to make the game more tactical, and I've actually started enjoying it more, despite the fact that the multiple-server thing just doesn't sit right with me after 4 years of EVE. MAG supported 256 players by designing it's missions around keeping the team separated into smaller squads around the map with a lot of environmental clutter designed to prevent long sight lines to eliminate the possibility of framerate drop. It was revolutionary, but like the original Planetside, that doesn't mean it was a great game. I think its great that so many of it's players are being drawn to Dust, and I think you'll all make a great addition to the community, but MAG isn't an example that should be drawn from unequivocally, just like any other game. |

Sometimes I hate everybody, I really do. I think I've gotten dumber from reading through this thread. The "twitchiness" is what we're here to test. And it will be fixed, I'm sure of it. No Dev is going to look through a sniper scope at a guy trying to run up a cliff as he's twitching all around teleporting up and down as he clips off the terrain and say to themselves "Yup, this looks good. Ship this kitten I gotta get my monaaaay." I'm pretty sure they're gonna fix that stuff.
Sure CCP could screw this whole thing up and try and release it like it is now but I doubt it. If they did I wouldn't play it. But our purpose is the play this game that sucks and tell them why it sucks so they can fix it. I thought we were all on the same page, but I guess not. So whatever, go play cow clicker and stop clogging up the forums with your stupidity. I went in to this thing expecting a broken piece of crap, I didn't realize I was the only one.
I just played this last update. It's a lot better in a ton of ways. It still needs a lot of work, but that's why they're not releasing it next week. So let's put on our big boy pants and actually tell them why we don't like it. Which of course means thinking, and then articulating those thoughts in a useful way. So yea, that's gonna screw a lot of people but too bad. If you don't like thinking you really don't need to play a CCP game. I'm seeing so many similarities to EVE here, and if you can't handle that then seriously, just go away.
TL/DR - This game sucks at the moment and we're here to make it awesome. It has the potential to be an amazing game but it probably won't be for everyone. I have yet to see a single post from even the most idiotic player that says "This game sucks, it's just a clone of x or a ripoff of y". So hopefully we as a community of testers can help them fix it, but not by being idiots. |

Yeah and this game isn't to far behind MAG. The difference is CCP will have a horrible space subscription based MMO to fall back on. Zipper actually knows how to make a shooter. Also they got closed down because of Socom 4's failure. MAG sold over 1 mil in copies and that's considered good for a new IP in a saturated part of the gaming market. |

You know what? You know who has managed for sixteen years now.. Wow.. Sixteen years -- anyway! -- The game and people whom have managed the best between complexity and simplicity is the Poke'mon Co. and their game Pocket Monsters. That's Poke'mon for us westerners. Ha-ha. Still you have to admit that they do it best. Simple enough on the top where anyone can pick up the game and enjoy and complex enough to drive anyone willingly insane and into a frenzied hardcore master. Yup. Totally out in left field I know, but it is true.
As for this game Dust514 being qoute-on-qoute "dumbed down" is a bit of wild shot in the dark. I mean c'mon the game is not finished, nor released. It's an unfinished product in the testing phases. So by which standard are you or anyone disclaiming that it has been "dumbed down." I'm not trying to sound like an arse. Just noticing that the reality is that it has not been. The game will be no less brutal or demoralizing to the players seeking riches then if they were playing EVE, or any other game. I mean if you really want to get technical I'd say some people are frightened. So much so infact that they are wanting immediate funds, and help from their corporations, and EVE accounts just to help ensure that they do not meet a grizzly fate, or fall. That is fear in my opinion, but who am I too gauge that. Point is the game and CCP are still trying to find that sweet spot. The same sweet spot infact that Pocket Monsters has held for over a decade. It's the perfect spot really. It attracts everyone, and all kinds of players, and people. However without taking away from any one particular crowd. You'll never stop people from griping though, or complaining. Nitpicking is a necessary evil, and honestly I doubt even if they made this game literally into a -- Rock, paper, scissor -- Pocket Monster game people wouldn't complain or gripe. Because, face it.. In the age of information and a tool such as the virtual world, and world wide web combined with anonymity, people will complain.
Still. The game is fine, and on track for the most part. I'm not agreeing to everything. I had good and bad things to say about the build to be sure. However you cannot bake a cake without first breaking a few eggs. If you do continue to try you will not succeed. If Thomas Edison, had given up he would not have created the flourescent lightbulb for which our world takes for granted. Point is continue to play, enjoy yourselves, test and voice your concern. CCP will listen as best they can, and attempt to balance and adjust accordingly.
Simple, no? |

Ok after reading this entire thread i see how this got "dumb downed". its all because most of this community cant say anything of value to the game. i'm not saying everyone just the real hardcore haters just because they get killed one or two times they freak out and say the game sucks. its a beta get over it. it improves over time and you may not like what they did but its not like the devs cant just apply a hotfix and balance stuff out. Regis the only thing i like about u is your name (im a huge MEGAS fans) but u need to relax dont take things so hard just like you voice your opinion you're going to have to brunt the people that have different opinions than you. and these insults that are being spit out isnt helping anything so chill man. voice you opinion but be prepared to have people attacking you opinion and treat the attacks with the most respect. if theres anything that i learned is that screaming, crying, and cursing always loses an arguement. |

Yeah and this game isn't to far behind MAG. The difference is CCP will have a horrible space subscription based MMO to fall back on. Zipper actually knows how to make a shooter. Also they got closed down because of Socom 4's failure. Yeah I played it to try it out the game is boring just like Dust. There is nothing fun about it I literally fell asleep playing the game quite a few times. Subbed to it for about a month worst 15 dollars I ever spent. |

Plus one and a present for you! Treasure Chest <--- Open it!
Edit:
For the record I disagree in that I feel it has not been "dumbed down". There is a difference between informing your players and dumbing it down. If a game lacks enough basics to inform a player then that is a problem. However this is an unfinished product. Saying it's dumbed down is like complaining about Coka~Cola from one year to the next in that you feel the forumla and swear to the heavens it has been changed. So now you do not like or agree with it. Seriously I've seen people complain that the can changed the taste. People are and always will complain. |

free trail is only 14 days and I have a friend who basically said that wasn't enough to completely judge the game. He swore to me I would enjoy the game he was wrong |
