To be fair, i do the same thing and don't use the cloak. But then you delve into a new problem where you're putting a new item into the game that is effectively useless and the skill on the scout class makes no sense cause noone will use it.
I kind of agree with OP only because it never really cured shooting while cloaked. Was just a bandaid

Tryhard call of booty forum warriors need to realize one thing.. Scouts are not OP.. they are simply better players than you.. Fast twitch players enjoy mobility and will sacrifice just about anything to get it.. Pure and simple.. sorry to break the truth..

How about you learn to be a GOOD scout and not use a cloak. There ARE ways to be a good scout without leaning on your crutches.

The short delay was fine.
This, meanwhile, makes cloaks more of a liability to use.
They don't conceal you very well, so people WILL notice you; when they do, you'll be defenseless due to the length of the delay.
Some details can be ignored

i think theres a penalty on fancy cloaks that slow down your targeting so you take longer to attack.

99% of the time you have a targeting recalibration delay. Different covert ops capable ships get different target lock time bonuses. If I recall correctly the Stealth Bomber is the only ship that can instantly lock and shoot after decloaking.
If there is any change that is going to be implemented to cloaking delay it probably would be bonuses to certain scout suits.

Try going without a cloak.
1. Extra fitting capacity.
2. Extra equipment.
3. No delay.
4. We can see the cloak blur plain as day anyway.
5. When playing the min scout, my non-cloaked fit vastly out performs the cloaked one.
6. The cloak is a utility designed for stealth that is almost exclusive to the scout. Try using it for escaping/hacking and crossing open ground.
Scouts are not broken. Far from it actually. They just feel less unique now that the assault/logi can out maneuver them with myofibs, and the sentinel sneaking up is common.

The scout and the heavy are the ony suits i fear and the cal and gal scouts more so due to the fact there can't be seen even by my gal logi with proto scans thats gets down to 15. but at least thay are running there slot like they should compered to armor and shield tanked scouts.the secound equitment in my opion puts them in logi class. its said they have it so they can run there clock and another equitment. but the other suits have to choice nanohives or risk running out of ammo, wheres they sec eq slot ? scout get to much handed to them. i remember in beta the real scout could do just fine . oh and yes heavys are still a bit op i run gal heavy and cal heavy and it is a bit on the easy side. |

Try standing off to the side, on the extreme edge of hack range. Often had people shot right at the console and missed me. Then they spray all over till they find me.
By then, I'm normally done.
Smart people throw grenades at objectives that have a cloak on them.

Yea this counters my AFG overwatch on objectives sometimes. The splash raidus isn't big enough to completely overwatch it and that requires 2 shots from me if thats the case. By then the objective is already hacked.
