I have a question about two bugs that we have never replicated (as far as I know), I know it's been reported in the forums before, and I keep seeing mention of it.
1) The sprint glitch, does anyone have video of it?
2) The instant redline timer dropship destruction, same, any video?

Sprint glitch is very easy to replicate, it always happens to me. Grab a logi, fit 3 kind of hives/uplink, drop one then try to sprint, if you can sprint, drop another and try to sprint, repeat till glitch happens. I've never thrown more than 2 hives without causing the glitch to happen.
Scout+cloak method activate cloak then try to sprint
Counter: melee or duck
There's another little bug, sometime i can't melee, i don't know why, i press the button again and again but it takes seconds before my char actually performs a melee attack, it happens more frequently when i'm standing still and not moving.

Before the removal of sprint-canceling of "post-fire" animations you would just go back to sprinting.

You can fix this by making it impossible to rotate while the scanner is "firing".

The sprint bug occurs after pretty much any action that requires returning to them idle state.
So that's: Changing Weapons Aiming Down Sights Reloading Overheating Meleeing Deploying Equipment Hacking Using a Supply Depot Using an Installation Inertial Dampners Sprinting
Pretty much anything that provides an animation before returning to the idle state. From what I can tell, hear me out here, is that sprinting is only allowed from the idle state. This can referenced by reload canceling and so forth.
What appears to happen is that once an animation has finished it begins to return to the idle state, however the actual state of the player isn't updated until the animation is finished.
What this means is you get the Sprint Animation and subsequent use of stamina but because you weren't in the idle state, the code has problems transitioning to the sprinting state.
In effect the state your player is in is out of Sync with the state the animations are showing. In order to stop this you will probably need to check the code.
The function that returns the player to his 'hip-fire idle' state, needs to be changed so that the state changes before the animation plays.

This has happened to me a few times since the 'fix' it actually happend to me yesterday..its not so much a complete 360 turn, its like a slowed down version of a snapshot and it seems as if your scanner is on for longer. I 100% think this is down to lag, and its server side because others complain about lag. That said when this glitch happens, usually you can replicate it by fast double tapping and holding for the duration or continuously holding the button down.
TBH..I think the scan angles need to be wider in any case.

@Rattati, it's very easy to replicate. Just sprint immediately after firing/dropping equipment and you'll only go at half-speed with the ammo in your magazine being eaten away.
By the way, I've got like 30+ other videos of bugs that I reported back in December. Most of them still haven't been addressed. I stopped recording them because they were no longer being fixed.

Confirming that at least on programmable mice scannerina is very easy.
On my setup it just happens with no extra effort or actions, as I've set the mouse acceleration curve the following: small mouse movement - precise aim fast 8cm movement - 720 rotation or more
My usual DPI is at 4200 with report rate of 1000. Logitech G700. I can't give the acceleration rates in any sensible values though.
(Sorry, I can't post video as I don't have a capture card. I was in process of buying one to help you guys hunt bugs, but then Fanfest happened...)

Suggested fix for the 'Scannerina' can be found on old thread here.
Suggestion got moderate support but never any dev attention.
Updates for suggestion because of current build: - I can't update the post as it's already locked... - The nonstop scanning is not an issue anymore as scan visibility time vs cooldown has been addressed. - Passive scans have been dominant since the suggestion, but the very idea of ISM works well to tune down passive scans as well!
Maybe the discussion could be revived if other people are sick and tired of too simple ON / OFF scans....
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

I have this bug so much and it is especially annoying when I'm using my Commando with the high melee value, only to realize the melee won't work once I get up to a target. There is a simple solution, just crouch and then uncrouch and the melee will work again, but by that time the moment is already lost.
Sadly I do not know what causes it, but hopefully how to fix it provides some help. I'll try replicating it on my own.

The inertia dampener sometimes doesn't activate if you press X just once. Tapping fixes it...
EDIT: I mean, you can SEE it as if it works, but you just die from the fall...

The sprinting glitch... not to be rude, but it's so easy to replicate. There is an 'x' action and then an immediate sprint following that action. There is absolutely no pause between the action and sprinting. Fire your gun and sprint. DO NOT PAUSE after firing and then sprint. >>Sprint immediately after firing, or sprint while firing, which interrupts the firing animation<<. It's all in the same motion. This can be done when throwing grenades, placing equipment, reloading, and probably even when switching weapons. It's quite noticeable when you're sprinting far slower than you normally would, especially as a fast scout. I know I may not be helpful without a video, but this turtle running glitch has been around for ages... how is it so hard to replicate... it has been around longer than the 1.8 update, it came around 1.6 I believe.
Also, to fix it, all you have to do is stop running, pause for a second, and then sprint as you normally would, which isn't exactly possibly when running from enemy fire.
Is there a small delay or something following an action that causes this odd glitch to happen when interrupted? or is it caused when an animation is being interrupted? It's as if your legs go into panic mode and don't want to function properly.

The dropship instant redline timer destruction seems to be a fairly rare occurence. I don't believe I've encountered it myself as an avid pilot. It's just seems random, but I do believe there is a video out there... somewhere. Does Judge have one?
Scanerina is more than possible with a high enough or maxed sensitivity on the ps3 controller, it is not a glitch, but I believe it isn't as effective as it was before the changes to scanners. Perhaps you could fix the sensitivity (around 10 out of 100 for example) so it's really low when pressing the use button on the scanner?

It's been happening ever since Aim Assist was "fixed" back in 1.6 I believe.

Amarr sentinels have shield resistance to hybrid blaster weapons instead of hybrid rail weapons.
Personally, I like it better this way as they wouldn't need resistance against their allies weapons, and would want a little resistance on their secondary tank (as their primary tank is already resistant) for their allies enemies for when they assist. I think all sentinels should be this way.
Gallente Get 15% armor resistance to hybrid rail weapons and 10% shield resistance to laser weapons.
Caldari Get 15% shield resistance to hybrid blaster weapons and 10% armor resistance to projectile weapons.
Minmatar Get 15% shield resistance to laser weapons and 10% armor resistance to hybrid rail weapons weapons.
This way Gal and Cal don't have both resistances on their main tank while the Min and Amarr don't, and there is 1 class of weapon that is good against each races primary tank and 1 against their secondary tank.

It happens in maybe 1 in 10 matches for me, though it will often recur in said match many times. I've also had a similar problem with Plasma Cannon dry firing, or with it lagging out and the round not firing for 2-5 seconds after the charge. Speaking of, Rattati, PlC rounds still ghost through enemies at all ranges with alarming regularity.
Reality is the original Rorschach.

Yes, thanks, but that was in December. I didn't read everything then, nor do I have time to search old threads now. That's just a (sad) fact. If you have the thread, then please post it here so I can take a look.
On some other players question, I would rather use the dev team to fix and tweak than playtest/QA, that's just pragmatism. I know a lot of players fraps, and put a lot of work into capturing bugs. They can't fix them but they can find them. We appreciate all the help we can get.
I have 30M SP, and hundreds of hours logged. Still haven't experienced any of these, maybe I didn't notice or they happened and I blamed lag.

2. Take a cloak (any cloak).

3. Take some Nova knives and some other primary weapon.
First equip your primary weapon, and then switch to your NK, but immediately after you switch to your NK, sprint.
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only Mk.0 Scouts will do that.

You must not play as a cloak scout if you have not experienced the sprint bug. I am so used to it it is now natural to click sprint, walk, and sprint again after cloaking. If it is ever fixed I will have a problem untraining myself to do the workaround. |

Here's an easy way to replicate the sprinting glitch. Get a scout with nova knives, knife and sprint as the knifing animation is still going and continue sprinting. You may want to have someone else observing you while doing this, so you can have a different perspective of when you're replicating the glitch and sprinting normally.

On the sprint bug: The easiest way I've found to replicate it is to switch to a piece of equipment with the wheel, then tap r2 to switch to your weapon and sprint directly afterwords.
I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.

Ive also had a hav blow up out of nowhere while driving beside a building, I believe its the map with the tall tower in the center above A in doms, to the right are some containers and behind them to the left is the building I blew up beside.

Not even walking, it's slower than you're regular walking speed, and it almost seems as if you sink into the ground. It also seems like you're moving like a heavy.
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only Mk.0 Scouts will do that.

So, what's the prioritization of bug fixing here? Is the dev team willing to fix -all- current bugs or just the high value ones? Need to know this sort of thing before I go and re-record every single bug report

I run ammar Logi with uplinks and sprint gliche happens to me a lot .My question what suits is it effecting .Maybe it is limited to suits of a similar speed.My Caldri Logi I haven't seen it as much. On a side note I can't melee with a Rep Tool in my hands. |

Sprint glitch: You cannot sprint while "using" an equipment or weapon. The game forces you to move at your normal walking or movement speed. Equipment has a longer delay in the animation before you can start sprinting again, which is where the glitch happens.
You try and sprint during that small animation in between using the item and just "holding" the item, which is where the sprint glitch occurs. The game still recognises you as using the item, but it also lets you press the sprint button to start the sprint animation. You are then locked into your base movement speed until you let go. _____________________________________________________________
Dropship/HAV destruction before timer runs out:
This has to do with the vehicle vs pilot timers. The only one displayed for you is the pilot timer, which is your clone located within the vehicle. If you edge up to the redline, and barely leave it, but still have your vehicle halfway in, the timer will not reset for your vehicle, but entering the redline again will still activate the pilot timer.
So while your clone might have 20 seconds, the vehicle might only have 12 or 14 seconds left on the timer, causing your vehicle (and then of course the clone) to be destroyed with 6 seconds still left.
There is also an issue with the timer from leaving and entering the redline many times over, during heavy lag, or simply when using a vehicle. _______________________________________________________________
It is impossible to do a 360 scan with a controller even on the highest sensitivity, but the higher your sensitivity, the larger your scan angle will be.
With a mouse, you can do 1080 scans easily, but this honestly isn't an issue. _______________________________________________________________________________

Perhaps not an issue today because of the CalScout, but it was certainly an issue before and could be again. Best I can pull off with a DS3 post scannerina "fix" is 270-300 degree scans. Partial scan returns blip on TacNet for 2-3 seconds which is more than enough time to thoroughly "repaint" returns.
Insta-spin is in-and-of-itself an issue, but that's a discussion for another thread :-)

I believe it was removed because the initial effect was overwhelming to most players as it easily took over 30% of the screen. I believe it's been forgotten as to whether or not they twill develop another indicator of sorts. I'd rather they just have a green message bar up in the top of the screen displaying "Connected to Triage Source", or something along those lines, and be noticeable enough.

What do you mean the decloak animation ISN'T shown when switching weapons? It does for me...
You're not suppose to get war points off of passive scans... only active scans. If that wasn't the case, then everyone would run caldari scout and get an obscene amount of points per battle without even trying.
A bright blue HUD hardly blends in with those colors, and effect colors (I'm assuming flux grenades, shield hardeners, and etc.) are not going to last more than a second... is that really an issue? Perhaps you should check your display settings on your TV/monitor?
I do agree with hardeners though, but that's more a design overlook than a bug, unless they did not intend for it to obstruct a gunner's view.

I know it's a shitload of work for a game that isn't worth it, but I'd be interested if you did that. Of course, the idea of them fixing all the current bugs in Dust is just laughable, since the forum dedicated to such things is 500 pages long and we all know less than 10% of the all researched and reported bugs in there were ever even addressed, much less fixed.
Of all the critical bugs I'd like to see fixed, vehicles sinking into sockets tops the list. I know someone already mentioned it occurs when accessing the team board, it can also happen if you drive too fast onto a socket with an LAV before the socket finishes loading.
And how about the one where getting scanned while in the redline screws up your redline timer?
Less critical, still annoying, CCP will never fix: on some sockets, the roads leading into the city/structure have poles on the left and right of the road, kinda blocking the entrance but not really. They're invisible as you approach in a vehicle, usually until you hit them. |

I've replicated the effect by sprinting instantly after: -Laying down an Uplink -Cloaking -Firing a Forge Gun -Detonating an RE -Throwing a grenade
My theory is that the game gets caught between certain animations and that of sprinting, causing you to sprint at half speed. The appearance of sprinting while glitching seems to look like the traditional running animation with a little bit of the last player animation thrown in, making me speculate that the game is registering you standing half still and half sprinting. |

This happens with the Swarm Launcher too. Though I don't think it actually has an effect on its use so its less of an issue. There are just sometimes when I fire off my swarms and they leave as per usual, but while reloading, a second animation happens and two random rockets fire out. I don't know why...

Has anybody else had the game steal your OB if attacked or killed while in the overmap? I've had it occur somewhat regularly in the past, and it happened twice tonight, once as normal where I died, but the second time I merely backed out of the map when I started taking damage and found my OB gone after I killed the guy and reopened assets. In every previous occurrence, I was killed, so this is a new one for me.
Reality is the original Rorschach.

I have a problem where randomly things like the map will open up. Usually at the worst possible time. I'm not pressing the buttons, it just opens, and it doesnt seem to be a specific button that triggers it as I can't really do it on demand. But its fairly game-breaking because it regularly occurs in the middle of intense situations and leaves me stuck there staring at nothing being shot. Tried to look for this but couldnt find any mention; anyone had a similar issue? |

Question: Is the menu for calling vehicles and warbarge strikes appearing as well? If so, that is a controller issue, and can be fixed completely on your own. Look up a youtube video of it.
Inside the controller is small rubber pad that, when pressured, can trigger buttons, but after an extended period of time it compresses due to constant use, and can cause random commands to be initiated and use buttons of the d-pad. To fix it, you simply need something to wrap around the small rubber pad, like tape for example, and make it thick enough to be of at least it's original thickness, and I would recommend glueing it as well, just so it doesn't fall out of the controller while putting it back together. It's far better than buying a new $60 controller, requires less than $5 of materials, and you do not need experience with disassembling electronics to fix it. All you need is to be careful with it and there should be no issues.
All you need is a small phillips head screwdriver, tape, and super glue. Very simple fix, and I've only had to do this once in the past 2 years I've had this controller.

I have the same issue, but I don't believe it is my controller because I have 2 and it happens with both. One of them is only a few months old. It is just the map popping up randomly for no apparent reason. |

I have had some issues I might cough up to a glitch but I am not exactly sure. Sometimes at the beginning of a match I will run towards where I believe the enemies will be and then all of a sudden the screen will freeze for a few seconds and when it unfreezes I end up with a bunch of enemies magically appearing on my screen blasting me away. This just happened again a few minutes ago with the match I just played in. Anyone know what is up with this? |

First what I used was the milita ion pistol and held it to charge it, after it charges fire tap r2 (if using ps3 controller) rapidly until you're holding nothing but it look like you have your main weapon out, while you're holding nothing. But can still aim and shoot with the pistol. If this game had kill cams like call of duty I think this would be a really funny glitch. :D |

I actually love seeing this in other people. I've seen heavies with glitched guns that look like its pointing at their feet but its still firing straight ahead.

I've noticed the sprint glitch occurring still when Nova Knifing, had it happen at least twice so far, though I don't have any capture devices, so I can't provide video. Haven't had early redline timer destruction happen in awhile, it was always completely random before so it's not going to be easy to get video footage of it or even replicate.
I want to punch.

Every time or a random occurrence? I might be able to grab capture of that happening if it still happens consistently.

A couple of hours ago, our squad received a defeat in a domination. We needed to bleed out 10 more clones for a victory. They needed to wait out the 6 bars left remaining of our MCC's health. We began the hack at (our) 6 bars, which was about to be complete by the 4th bar. But just before the completion of the hack, the game ended, with an entire squad not knowing why.

Hate to be pushy, but is there any movement on fixing the Weapon/ Equipment switching glitch. I would assume a video is needed for this too, right? Any takers? :D
Basically what happens is...... You switch weapons too fast and it switches back to the weapon you just swtiched out of when you go to fire the sidearm/ equipment you just switched too... I know it might sound confusing but i think every single player has experienced this, at least that is the consensus I have seen.
This really sucks with the Plasma cannon, it's a single shot so when you switch to that sidearm (flaylock) and go to fire it too quick.... it then switches back to that empty Plasma Cannon. Caught with my pants down :(... this is why i have to wear melee mods, my weapons are not reliable enough when switching mid-battle..
