Throughout it's development, we were assured Dust would continue to exist for well over 10 years. This makes aurum items more appealing since they have more permanence and would continue to be a worthwhile investment years later (at least for SP boosters and BPOs). Those other games never made claims that that iteration of their series would continue to be developed for years after their initial release. I don't want a refund as I feel I've gotten my ~$50 worth out of Dust, but saying the switch from Dust to Legion is the same thing as Halo 2 to Halo 3 is a grave misrepresentation of the situation.

There wasn't supposed to be a "DUST 514 2" alot of us just want that promise to be held, and for the hard work, the love we poured into our characters, the effort to be remembered, to be carried forward. We want the work we put into our mercenaries to be carried forward.

When I buy a specific model of a car, I still can keep using it, even after the car company doesn't make that specific model anymore. I can still go out and drive it. When Dust closes down, I will be left with ZERO, my Aurum used in boosters and everything will mean NO-TH-ING. All of the money I put into it will simply be "gone". IWS, i know you were on a NDA ever since you became a CPM, but the moment you (and the rest of CPM) knew what was happening to this game on PS3, and what was the real story behind the 4month delay to 1.8 and to why development stagnated, you should of just kept quiet and hide in shame. Most of the players are console users, and moving the vision from PS3 to PC is just a big FU to the entire playerbase. Most of the trailers, promises and advertising, are , in the end, just lies. If i was a CPM, i would of resigned the moment i knew what plans CCP had in reality for this game. As a CPM and as a player i lost all respect for you and the likes of you. Difference is those games lasted more than a year (dust hasnt made 1 yet) and also this is the first time a game has packed up and moved to another platform. So you feel that its fine that if people want to continue using content they purchased that they need to change platforms. The difference between this and all of your examples is that those games were "finished" at one point. People felt like they got what they paid for, even if it was only for a while. Dust 514 is more like if those companies accepted preorders with beta access, but then canceled the game before they added half the stuff they promised and kept all the money. If they had at one point added everything they hyped up this time last year and then said "OK no more! we've fulfilled our promise and now we're moving on" then that would be more like the examples above. But Dust 514 is more like a preorder for a game that never got made. Had it been advertised as being nothing more than it is today, most of us wouldn't be here, and even fewer would have spent money on this. That is why we feel cheated. And the scariest thing is that CCP may have know all along that we would feel this way.

IWS, i know you were on a NDA ever since you became a CPM, but the moment you (and the rest of CPM) knew what was happening to this game on PS3, and what was the real story behind the 4month delay to 1.8 and to why development stagnated, you should of just kept quiet and hide in shame. Most of the players are console users, and moving the vision from PS3 to PC is just a big FU to the entire playerbase. Most of the trailers, promises and advertising, are , in the end, just lies. If i was a CPM, i would of resigned the moment i knew what plans CCP had in reality for this game. As a CPM and as a player i lost all respect for you and the likes of you. Yep, but as I keep saying, CPM have always been "for" DUST 514 on PC. So right now, they are all happy. It's not about which system DUST 2.0 will be on, it's about promises made, and investments in time and money towards a promised vision essentially stepped on for this new vision, which is really just the old vision in a new shiny box. As many have stated, the sad truth is Legion looks like it might very well be everything we were promised DUST would be. But to presume this is about having to buy computers is both preposterous and idiotic.

It doesn't matter if DUST 514 lasts another 2 years or even if EVE: Legion never sees the light of day, the sudden discontinuation of major updates and support for DUST 514 on a PlayStation system (you can argue whether this is actually the case or not until you're blue in the face, it IS) is the key issue here. Yes, maybe we should have known better and used more common sense in our judgement of the viability of this proposed product, BUT we had faith (albeit misguided) in CCP to deliver on their promises and so lots of us spent exorbitant amounts of cash on this "vision" in order to make it a reality. How are we repaid? With our investments shifted to another system where we see no benefit or realisation of what we bought into in the first place. Again, I see why this move had to happen, but why not be more open about it? To farm their current playerbase for money? I can't see any other reason. MAG - dead. SOCOM: Confrontation - dead. CoD & BF franchises - cash cows for the sheep. Gimme 'The Division' & 'MGO'!
