And wasn't this because the Amarr scout multiplier was 4x instead of 8x or something? So you went proto Amarr scout? Can you still use the suits and get the bonus? If so that's a pretty nice deal - you get access to the suit and bonuses early. Unless ofc you just wanted to skill it up and abuse it while the multiplier was low, and had no real intention to keep the suit ;)

Because if you did, you already have them unlocked a month before you'd have the SP for them and you should actually be thankful this is CCP's solution. Your story of "I thought I had extra so I spent it" doesn't make any sense; it sounds more likely that you were trying to get your proto scout suit for half price, and CCP said "no." Even if you're never going to be using proto, you're going to have a heck of an easier time fitting cloaks on your suits. Sure, you might not be able to skill into any other skills for a few weeks, but I consider that a reasonable drawback compared to what you're gaining. So what's the problem here? Either you got exactly what you wanted, and spent sp for, or suddenly you didn't want it all along because it's not half price. Either way, there's no issue. If you invested sp because its what you wanted, you have what you wanted early. And if invested because you were trying to get it for half price--a scam of the system of sorts--then you're getting exactly what was coming to you. I have 8.5 Million SP..... if I buy this I now have X Million SP with a halt on skilling at 5 Million which is what I did. Now I am told what I though was careful use of SP was not and I am down to about 3.3 Million. Look at it if the skill had been presented at their full value, and the fact that CCP would make a mistake like this never occurred to me, I probably would have held off of skilling to the Ak.0. I personally am unconcerned regarding the first 3 levels of Amarr Scout Operation...merely the last two for their massive SP investment which was not presented well. "Get thine Swag out of my face! Remember GM's(That handle Tickets) are different then Dev's from CCP Shanghai. They work directly with the Tranquility server cluster data bases for CCP. Depending on your wording and your tact. They may help you out.

Maybe I'm weird but when I go to train a skill all the way up to lvl V in one go I tend to look at the screen and see what's going on before I confirm it. The people that are deep into negative SP were either thinking they could take advantage of the mistake or not paying a damn bit of attention to what they were doing. Neither of those is a reason to refund anything. Running a blaster tank in ambush is like bringing Anthrax to a pillow fight.

I am concerned that with my initial investment into the role would have seen a significantly lesser investment of my SP into the role. As I have explained during my SP allocation I was not unwilling to skill into scouts, but I had set myself a limit on SP spent to ensure I would not skill excessively.... additionally I did not expect CCP to have such trouble in the implementation of correct skill modifiers.... as such in full I ended spending more SP than I was willing to leaving me with less in my pool that I was specifically saving. That is my issue. That SP was never intended to have been spent. As I was not aware of the issues with the scouts until reading the hot fix patch and made aware than more SP was going t be taken from me equivalent to a further 1 million SP I feel as though I have been somewhat cheated out of SP that if presented as skill costs to me intially would have resulted in a more reserved application of SP. I am not wholly concerned with having SP into scouts however I would like the opportunity to realocate the SP spent on Scout Operation IV and V as those are the bulk of total SP spent and it was on those skills the modifier has maximum effect. So you budgeted how much SP you were going to spend, but when the price for the Amarr scout came in under budget you didn't stop and find out why? If you had a budget, that means you know what a proto racial suit costs. If you had only budgeted for an advacned scout but went to proto because it magically cost less than it should, that is on you. If the scout is your only suit, then you are probably FotM chasing, and I don't feel bad. If the scout isn't your only suit than you know exactly what a suit should cost and should have known better. Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

That suit costs 2.4 million SP. You paid 2.4 million SP for it. Whatever you spent the other 1.2 million SP on you still got those benefits as well. You basically got 1.2 million SP for free for a couple of weeks use. You didn't get punished you got rewarded. What they should have done was strand you at level 4, and let you re earn the 5 when ever you wanted to. The only reason that didn't happen is that it wouldn't work out evenly for people who only skilled to level 3. You didn't get punished, you just got forced to pay what you should have paid, and because you no longer got a deal you feel ripped off. Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

That suit costs 2.4 million SP. You paid 2.4 million SP for it. Whatever you spent the other 1.2 million SP on you still got those benefits as well. You basically got 1.2 million SP for free for a couple of weeks use. You didn't get punished you got rewarded. What they should have done was strand you at level 4, and let you re earn the 5 when ever you wanted to. The only reason that didn't happen is that it wouldn't work out evenly for people who only skilled to level 3. You didn't get punished, you just got forced to pay what you should have paid, and because you no longer got a deal you feel ripped off. What I chose was to spend SP in the tree to retain X amount of SP after the investment.
