Then, you used the remaining sp on things you wanted as well. Where's the problem? If anything, it's that you got your stuff 1,000,000 SP before you should have. Your story of "I thought I had extra so I spent it" exactly i thought i had extra so i spent it not "oh boy ccp ****** up now let me take advantage." the way i see it im a victim of a glitch in the system its like if i put $20 in a atm later bought a $40 headset cause when i checked my account it said i had $40 so i think oh i guess i had more in my account then i thought but really the atm counted the 20 two times. so the bank put my account to -20 dollars because their atm glitched. but id rather just return the headset and have the $20 Yes, but you spent the sp on things you wanted. So, there's no issue. If now you're saying you didn't want an Amarr proto suit (because it's not half price or whatever), why the hell did you spend sp into it in the first place? Either you got exactly what you wanted, and spent sp for, or suddenly you didn't want it all along because it's not half price. Either way, there's no issue. If you invested sp because its what you wanted, you have what you wanted early. And if invested because you were trying to get it for half price--a scam of the system of sorts--then you're getting exactly what was coming to you. And btw, if your bank ATM messes up and gives you an extra $20, guess what--the bank is going to take out that additional $20 from your account when they discover the error.
Well wanted is a strong word.... I spent the SP values based on the formula as follows.
I have 8.5 Million SP..... if I buy this I now have X Million SP with a halt on skilling at 5 Million which is what I did. Now I am told what I though was careful use of SP was not and I am down to about 3.3 Million.
Look at it if the skill had been presented at their full value, and the fact that CCP would make a mistake like this never occurred to me, I probably would have held off of skilling to the Ak.0.
I personally am unconcerned regarding the first 3 levels of Amarr Scout Operation...merely the last two for their massive SP investment which was not presented well.

I think that's a fair point, but I would again argue that if you didn't really want Amarr proto, then you shouldn't have spent sp into it, regardless of cost. For example, I have no desire to use Mass Drivers, so I haven't spent any into it, regardless of the cost. Yes, it's only 18,000 sp, but I don't have any desire to use them, so I haven't spent sp there "just because."
Indeed wholly understand where most of the player base is coming from and I already have HTFU about my stupid decision.

I didn't even know it was a 4x Skill until last night when I read the hot fix notes.

Meh I have submitted my ticket and that's in all honesty all I can do. I can certainly live with it.....but again I have to feel cheated by another build.....this time is actually related to an issue on CCP's end....and not just regarding Amarr HAV not being implemented.

It was all over the forums, jus sayin not everyone stay on the forums. most players don't even use the forums. i didn't go on till later that night i just went right to the game to see if the patch was up, it was, so i went to my skill and used my sp then played a few hours. not all of us check the forums every ten minutes
I use the forums heavily and even I missed that....
Its like trying to commit fraud.... its stupid, unless you are insanely intelligent and canny you will be caught and punished. Same applies here except I suppose that some people didn't know.

Honestly would rather they did.... I hate feeling like SP was wasted.
And would rather loose the 3 mill I earnt from the Million Clone event to remove those skill from my character.
All I am saying it that I thought I was making an informed and correct choice with my SP.....apparently I did not.
All I can do is submit a ticket to the GM and see how they respond.

No, that is a poor way of looking at it. You spent the SP on stuff. CCP merely corrected how much it should have cost you. What ever you spent that 1.2 million SP on you still get to use until you earn that SP off. You got a loan of 1.2 million SP from CCP you should be happy, not crying like a little girl.
But I am unhappy for that exact reason.
I am concerned that with my initial investment into the role would have seen a significantly lesser investment of my SP into the role.
As I have explained during my SP allocation I was not unwilling to skill into scouts, but I had set myself a limit on SP spent to ensure I would not skill excessively.... additionally I did not expect CCP to have such trouble in the implementation of correct skill modifiers.... as such in full I ended spending more SP than I was willing to leaving me with less in my pool that I was specifically saving.
That is my issue. That SP was never intended to have been spent. As I was not aware of the issues with the scouts until reading the hot fix patch and made aware than more SP was going t be taken from me equivalent to a further 1 million SP I feel as though I have been somewhat cheated out of SP that if presented as skill costs to me intially would have resulted in a more reserved application of SP.
I am not wholly concerned with having SP into scouts however I would like the opportunity to realocate the SP spent on Scout Operation IV and V as those are the bulk of total SP spent and it was on those skills the modifier has maximum effect.

What info? When did CCP notify the entire user base? Is it suddenly the average user's fault they didn't log on and read the forums that day? NO! It is CCP's fault for doing ****** coding and not QA'ing their game. The fault is on CCP and they are trying to shift it to the consumer which is BAD. They posted the info on day one in the technical section of the forums. We all knew there will be bugs so that was the first place we all went to before spending the SP on anything. I maxed out my Amarr scout suit as well but I was smart enough to save the extra SP until CCP charges the difference. So far, i'm still in the positive.
And while I see that and do often spend a good deal of time on the forums....I cannot always do so.

Xander said he didn't know it was a 4x multiplier. What I infer from that is that he wanted an Amarr Scout anyway and spent the SP without reading the info. If he had checked the info he would have seen that it wasn't a normal 12x multiplier. That would have tipped him off to the bug. They are not blaming people for anything. If you spent SP to get Amarr scout level 5, CCP figures you still want it, and adjusted the price to what it should have been. If you didn't want the Amarr scout, but thought you could get a proto scout suit for half price, then enjoy your suit that you tried exploit to get, you got what you deserved.
No one in this thread tried to exploit anything.......an honest mistake on our part that is being IMO severely punished for a mistake the poor presentation of the skill directly contributed to.

How are you being punished? You chose to skill into Amarr scout 5. No one made you skill into it, you chose to do so because seemingly you wanted acess to the proto suit. That suit costs 2.4 million SP. You paid 2.4 million SP for it. Whatever you spent the other 1.2 million SP on you still got those benefits as well. You basically got 1.2 million SP for free for a couple of weeks use. You didn't get punished you got rewarded. What they should have done was strand you at level 4, and let you re earn the 5 when ever you wanted to. The only reason that didn't happen is that it wouldn't work out evenly for people who only skilled to level 3. You didn't get punished, you just got forced to pay what you should have paid, and because you no longer got a deal you feel ripped off.
What I chose was to spend SP in the tree to retain X amount of SP after the investment.
Now that I have had a further 900K removed from my pool after the fact..... this is not SP I would have spent on any suit or core upgrades field.

Think of it like buying something with a credit card. You get it now but have to pay it off. At least there is no interest. its more like i used a debt card but during the transaction the system glitched cutting the price in half so the store just took the other half from my account the next day without the option of returning the product. Only no real cash was involved here.
Its more like you paid for something and was told later you actually under paid for it, not necessarily being directly your fault and now have to pay for it instead of returning it.

How many proto suits did you get on patch day? 15, since I primarily am an HAV pilot.

indeed that is a concern. We forum goers may be the more active and dedicated portion of the community....but we are not necessarily the biggest....... if we want to take it further issues like this should be presented and explain to players on their consoles through the notice board or highlights when the game is started, not just on the forums.

You shouldn't be mad at CCP, you should be mad at yourself. the only thing i knew was that i would have sp left over and i did so i spent it i was able to get more mods then i thought and thats when i was told that the multiplier was bugged. so stop trying to make it sound like i knowingly took advantage cause i didn't
Xander simply send in a polite ticket explaining your situation. I am sure the issue will be resolved one way or another.
