Yeah dubbs, I couldn't agree more. I bet 1.8 is going to be a disaster because of upcoming fatsuit resistance bonuses, coupled with these new damage nerfs for light weapons, and an across the board cut of proficiency and damage mods. I would think that people would've seen this coming especially from this recent event, but who knows.
That being said, I really can't complain all that much about TTK as it is now. There's plenty of times I cut people down in a second or two and every now and again, it happens to me as well. I had to work my way through the "insta-die" days fresh out of academy also. I survived, but a lot of newer players aren't going to want to sit and work through that (can be resolved through better academy).

I dunno if this video fits in this thread but here goes. I was shot in the back while sniping but I won the shootout after I turned around. All I wanna say is that some skill outweighs not too skilled. Ttk in new eden=moot point. And sadly the not too skilled are crying highest to CCP about ttk. I wonder how this video would play out after 1.8 ;)

I don't even use the duvolle anymore but you've essentially turned the Duvolle into an exile?? Don't you see what happened when you nerfed a player's AV defense against tanks? Now, you nerfed our only defense against heavies and players with a huge amount of ehp??? I mean....seriously what is the point of this extremely high TTK? You don't want a game where you get instakilled. But you also don't want a game where it takes forever to kill someone either! Most of what gets new players killed, for example, isn't actually the amount of damage being done by enemy weapons. More often than not, it's not being able to chew through the stupidly massive brick-tanks everyone seems to be fitting on their suits.
The other factor is that you can't judge TTK around yourself and other people "at your level" because your performance is, on average, above that of the majority of the community. To you and to other people who perform as you do, the balance may seem fine, but anyone who doesn't meet that fairly high bar just gets destroyed.

Disagree mobus its the headless chicken nature of the newbs which is frustrating. No minds dieing a lot if they get to fight back. If u spend more time looking at the spawn screen than shooting somthing gone wrong. High TTK complety changes how people fight so u cant compaire whats happening now to 1.8. We sadly have to get our theeth into it shake it around and see how much meet vs bones..... I need to get lunch

TTK will be increases dramatically, especially vs heavies. They are getting resistant buffs....seriously if you miss 3/4 of your shots on a basic heavy with no extra health ...1200 hp, you will have to reload. 1v1 fights will be annoying and scouts are going to get ruined.....even with cloak...they cannot alpha enough dmg...sad day for scouts.

Longer ttk in 1.1-1.4 was the most fun ever, curently i can sneak up on a ,enemyin my scout suit and either knife them or shotgun them once, and they turn and kill me before i get the second hit in. Now all rifes got nerfed and mine stayed the same also scouts got another slot, so im betting i can get that second shot off now.
These forums must be located in the Californin country side, there is whine as far as the eye can see.

lulz...do you think that it will be easier for new guys? We will still be able to "solo 5 new guys"....it will just take longer. TTK didn't have to be substantially raised like this.
Damage being nerfed like this will make people vulnerable to heavy hp tanked guys like heavies and 1000hp logis/assaults.
