GOD DAMMIT CCP!!!!
Now, that I've gotten that out.....why are you increasing TTK? It is not fun when it takes really long to kill someone. All of these guys complaining about insta-deaths are exaggerating beyond belief. Compare the TTK in BF3 to Dust as it is now. In BF3, you don't have the time to react AT ALL. That is an insta-death. In Dust, you have plenty of time to react. In pubs, I see guys running more ehp on their advanced suits than I have on proto suits that I use.
Assaults/logis are running around with 600hp,700hp or armor and sitting in triage nanohives or getting repped. Do you know how ******** it is to kill a guy with all of that health? I didn't even mention heavies. And I see that the HMG didn't get a nerf. So, they get to keep their TTK and maintain the most ehp in the game while everyone else gets a nerf?
I can already see guys saying...well, use better tactics. And I'm thinking...why wouldn't they use the same advice instead of asking for a nerf to damage? If you feel that you're getting insta-killed. Stay close to cover..so when you start to get hit, you can jump behind it. Because in Dust, even if you aim high, the damage seems to be the same as hitting the body. So, if you have 700ehp, there is no way that you can get instakilled.
And these are huge nerfs, CCP...wtf? You know noone uses enhanced dmg mods, so it goes from 5%-3%. But then 10% - 5% on a complex damage mod??? I don't even use the duvolle anymore but you've essentially turned the Duvolle into an exile?? Don't you see what happened when you nerfed a player's AV defense against tanks? Now, you nerfed our only defense against heavies and players with a huge amount of ehp???
I mean....seriously what is the point of this extremely high TTK? You don't want a game where you get instakilled. But you also don't want a game where it takes forever to kill someone either!
I remember many guys in the old closed beta getting turned off to Dust because they said it took forever to kill people. Very high TTK is not appealing. This is a huge mistake.

Now the only viable way to kill tanks will be REs and other tanks, AV Grenade damage was already nerfed into the ground now we only get 2...
Same with heavies, you better have a heavy suit or flux + RE combo

I predict a far more slowed down strategy vs the current zerg one.

I don't know... maybe its just me but in 1.3 - pre auto aim the TTKs were quite high in PC and even in pubs again people not in MLT gear. Mostly due to lag and poor hit detection. Most fun I've had in this game by far.
I come back and play a few pubs in 1.8 and its just mowing people down like its nbd. There are no tactics... just whoever has more hp at the time usually makes it. I dunno I find infantry combat in 1.8 pretty lackluster myself.
Although, I don't like BF3/4 either... so there is some obvious bias there.
I don't think the reduction is going to be that big of a deal. However, the rifle nerfs and the ehp buff to heavies in 1.8 is gonna cause some serious heavy fotm play methinks. |

I'm not even going to carry AV nades anymore..a proto Lai Dai has been reduced to less than what a packed used to do. It takes 3 lai dai packed nades to destroy the cheapest lav. Now, I only have 2?? *facepalm*

REALLY!!!! anyone decieding to support the current TTK needs to feak off out this game, i had monumental support for the TTK change and you guys did nothing well congrats. my side won the argument now get the hell out so we can enjoy the game again.
strategy and squad tactics and communication will be king again. rather than spam and zerg the point.

I remember gun fights being so frustrating in Uprising because it used to take forever to kill someone. Poor hit detection and effed up aiming system...reloading to down one enemy wasn't really fun.

Take a look at Dust: Complex fitting system. Skill system. Now take a look at BF3: Just some weapon unlocks. Now take a second to think about it.
Sorry to break it to you, but you're playing the wrong game. This is no BF3. Dust is all about your fittings. And a longer TTK means your fittings are more important. Like it should be. What good is your fitting if, no matter what you're using, you die after 2 shots? What good are your skills if your enemy dies after 2 shots, no matter if you use damage modifiers or have your weapon damage skilled.
If you like Battlefield 3 so much, then go play it. Don't try to make Dust a game it is not and doesn't want to be.

How is strategy and squad tactic not important now? Nerfing damage and increasing TTK does nothing for spam and zerg except promote it. If it's harder to kill people by yourself, then you will need to zerg it to accomplish the task.

See i don't remember it being that frustrating. The lag in PC in 1.1 and 1.2 was very frustrating yes, but in 1.3 it felt 'okay' and the high TTKs were a blast. 1v1 fights were always very interesting and teamwork meant more when 2v1 engagements became so one sided. It also gave reps a purpose when people could actually survive a 1v1 and then need reps after.

Who said I liked BF3? I wished you guys would fkn read before saying something that will have us wasting time correcting.
I made the comparison to BF3 to show guys that BF3's TTK is fast and it fkn sucks. The TTK right now is absolutely fine. It isn't long to the point where it's annoyign and it isn't fast enough to the point where you can't react when you're getting shot.
Guys want to don 1200hp suis and nerf damage so they can stay alive more instead of playing smarter.

This will only increase the use of grenade spam unless they limit the ability for nanohives and depots to resupply them. If they dont then you will have a ton of people in Cal Logis just chucking grenades everywhere since the core will not have a damage reduction and the Cal gets a bonus to hives.
Other issues - This is still a loss for speed tanking unless you are a shotty user. Lower TTK means that scouts cannot use surprise to their advantage. If they get the drop on another player then that high EHP player (heavy with an HMG) can just turn around, laugh and shoot them.
This will make a high armor Cal Logi with triage hives a god just like the Gal Logi was. Lower TTK means that he can just sit on those hives and laugh as enemies shoot marshmallows at him.
HMG w. a Min Logi and core rep will pretty much rule CQC
Unless Assaults get a bonus to damage, Logis will remain the preferred choice for the slayer role

But you can now.....1v1 fights now are awesome. I'm going to play today and try to record the fact that you don't die instantly.

Sorry. It seems I was wrongfully under that assumption after seeing you senselessly flaming about the longer TTK, whining about how a long TTK is boring and then mentioning BF3 with its instadeath without actually saying what you want. It is totally my fault. I'm sorry.

So what is the problem if you have more time to react? What is the problem if it actually matter that you have an additional shield extender? Currently one additional shield extender lets you take one additional bullet. Yeah. Totally worth it.

Yes sir, can't really play without it anymore.
Its a bit painful to set up. You have a 10000 pt adjustment you can make to sensitivity and acceleration for hipfire and ads. I think i spent 5-6 games straight adjusting each value up and down until it started to feel okay and see if I could build some muscle memory for it.
I run it mostly so I can use my Corsair K60, which requires custom firmware and is not supported on the PS3.

I dunno ydubbs... I think for this you'll just have to see how it plays in game. I think it will be a positive change though myself. But im not as invested in dust as i was in 1.3. |

How is it carebear 514 just because it finally makes sense to think about your fitting? You're not playing Titanfall here. Or are you just scared that newbies might now be a problem for you because you can't only rely on your superior reflexes and better aiming anymore, which you have thanks to your young age of 15?

Enjoyment. Fun factor is reduced when you're putting bullets into a guy and it looks like you're doing nothing to him. It's like driving on the interstate for 3 hours then you look on the map and realize that you're still in the same state.
More kills equals more fun....would you have more fun in a 30 kill game or a 60 kill game?
