We've always had to think about our fitting. I've always thought about my fittings.....anyone that didn't before is crazy.
But you just described why it is carebear 514. If CCP is catering the game to newbies instead of it just being about skill like "superior reflexes and better aiming"...then that defines carebear.
But what people need to realize is that better players will still be better players. If they nerf something to help out newbies....and make it harder for better players to kill, then guess what? It will be even harder for noobies to kill just as much.

if you run around in MLT gear and 300 total ehp vs guys with 800ehp, then you're going to get smoked. It's that simple. Put more shields or armor on and you increase your ehp/TTK.
Think about your fittings...adapt. I think it's ******** when guys are getting smoked and continue to run around in the same fit that isn't working. Just the other day, I had to correct my own player for using a STD fit (and ended up going hard negative in a pub) when guys on the other side are using Gallente Logi/Assault suits and using Six Kin CRs

My fear is that it will just further reduce the amount of variability of suits in the game. There is no way for someone to create an effective glass-cannon fit that uses speed anymore. Its just going to be more people in high ehp standing there and shooting each other in the face until one drops. Also, welcome to the domination of heavies.

It doesn't....the nerf is across the board. Newbies/noobies alike will get the same nerf that a vet has. It will take them longer to kill the vet just as it takes the vet longer to kill them. It just makes the fight longer for both of them.

I was both brick and speedtanking in chromo, now with dual brick tank I have the survivability of my paper speed tank back in chromo.

How can you compare COD's TTK to Dust's TTK. I heard COD's TTK is even faster than BF3's TTK. And Dust's TTK is much, much higher than BF3's TTK.
You can absolutely turn on people in Dust right now. Not to mention, if I flanked you and started shooting you in the back, it only makes sense that you end up dying. But if you have skill, there is enough TTK left to turn around, find cover and kill the guy.
I will start recording and post because I don't know what game you guys are playing.

Guys that joined late are getting the same nerf. You know what that means, right? It will take vets longer to kill guys. But at the same time, it will take new players longer to kill guys.
Tbh, this hurts new players with low ehp fits. Because a skilled new player, can flank and with the damage now, they can hopefully kill the guy before he turns around. But increasing the TTK....will only make it harder for him to kill the vet and allow him to turn on the new player.
Does that make sense to you?

You bring up many valid points. I think the problem is we had such a long wait in between patch cycles that they are repeating the same errors again by changing too many variables at once. We saw this by the parallel HAV buff + AV nerf... this bred super tanks.
Now what we have is an across the board damage reduction on most weapons (1st variable) + reduction in damage modifiers (2nd variable) + skill proficiency reduction (3rd variable). We haven't even put suit stats into this. This will cause a lot of these variables to swing some builds to the extreme end of the OP spectrum... not good, nor desirable.
It will be interesting to see what they have in store for AV because they just received another nerf - their AV grenades now go down to 2, and their damage modifiers are always stacked in highs and this has a knock on effect to the already depleted AV weapons (forges and swarms). |

I don't know what you're doing wrong but in my suits at around 700EHP i can turn around to kill an attacker lots of times. When i don't, i recognize it was because i was either too much in the open or the other guy was noticeably stronger than me.

He will chase you and then kill you behind the cover.
The best way for a new player with lower ehp to survive is to flank and try to kill a guy before he knows you're there. And nerfing the damage will allow him to stay alive and turn on the low ehp player.

Now, this is thinking that everyone needs to adapt. If game mechanics are broken, then you can blame the dev.
But this guys is taking his own responsibility for dying and players need to do that.

Against anyone who got a rifle over standart tier. EHP doesnt matter, because you either get ganked in a second or in a second and a half.
Its like you people never leave your fully stacked proto suits.
