When I was first getting into this game it was mostly EVE pilots. Very few had the privelage of entering Mordu's Private Trials. Most were invited, some like me, competed to gain entry. One thing I was constantly warned about was Goon Swarm. Never played EVE Online and those PC nerds, whom called me a "console warrior", told me repeatedly not to mess with the goon swarm. I look around and see a very different future. If these pilots are so ever present in EVE, then why do you never see them on the ground? I've seen goonfeet in pubs. But they're terrible. How did this omnipotent corporation in EVE online become less than a blip on my dust radar? Let's discuss

There is no interest in Dust until it becomes an actual thing.
Also its very easy to press a button in EVE. Takes no skill whatsoever.
Dust you need some skill and its only limited to a few amount of players at a time (where as in eve, there is no limit).
Plus Goons are bad at everything.
Dust only matters to no one.
We are bad at everything skill wise, but excel at the metagame. |

Because Goonswarm and many players have realized that this game is still just a lobby shooter, the game is supposed to be an MMO-FPS. And they may never care if things don't change in the this month and the next couple months. And I think the corp the group they have in Dust is GoonFeet.
After Uprisings release the forums were a bad place, I'll never forget how CCP screwed up so badly.

Just wait for the player market to show up and then for our gear being made by players rather than coming from an infinitely large npc supply. Goons have an awesome finance team. Once it becomes possible to manipulate the price of items and collect an economic rent off of trade, they're going to be the first ones to figure out how and do it. And if there's a flaw in the economic system, they'll be the first to find it, document it, prove that it works and then report it so that it gets fixed. Just not until they've profited from it. |

Hell, I believe it was the Goons that bought all of a certain type of fuel needed for Player Owned Stations and then proceeded to hunt and kill EVERY miner that was getting and processing the fuel. They put their own fuel up for about 10 times the price. I can see them doing it. However, unless something huge happens, I doubt those types of players will both too much with DUST. I would say you sound hurt, but you are complaining about a mechanic in a game that has been around a long time. Blob? This has been cried since eve was created day one. Blame the people, that can gather more people, than their enemies. EVE mechanics are designed around many many different aspects. This "blob" is one of them.
The day that we let more than 16 players into a battle and it be limitless is the day that Goons will blot out the sun with rifters. |

But its true
EVE allows as many numbers as you can bring, even if you are bad you can bring down a target eventually
In DUST you are restricted to 16 atm, now DUST requires you to aim and if you cant you will be dead, now if its limitless you can throw in plenty of bad players but with clone limitations it means you will just lose alot more clones quickly against good players and the match will be over

We're here, there's just no point to doing anything other than ground work and preparation until this game is complete. Aside from the occasional fun side project like Grief University, we mainly just have a core group of guys who get drunk and sing songs while grinding pubs or trolling FW. We also have a few spies and diplomats working on long term stuff, but it's all a holding pattern until CCP decides to get their rear in gear. |

Who says that? I thought we said that Dust is such a terrible, no content game that fails to live up to even the most basic promises set forth by CCP when it was announced that we can't be bothered to put any effort into it. We're actually telling people not to play the game, because we want our player base to be introduced to it once it's not so terrible instead of getting burned out permanently because of how bad it is. |

Truly the argument stated here is ignorance. The idea of not entering pc because it is pointless seems lazy.

The best way to make eve players interested in dust is with money. There needs to be a merket in dust that connects to eve. I rant about it in this video. http://youtu.be/Z8jBBFe58Z4 But if you could pay eve players. Or be in an eve alliance and be able to pay the alliance fee there would be a better cohesion between the two games.

You can get mad, or turn this around on me, but I personally don't like Goons. The only time I have ever seen any of them in a match for the last several months was to watch them boosting in match (opposite sides, hunting a solo blue to kill/rev. couldn't help b/c was across map) and generally making sure that anyone engaging their corpmates on the opposit team were distracted by fire from behind. Then they went into the local chat (specifically 2 of them from a previous match doing the majority of the boosting) and proceeded to gloat about the boosting and recruiting others to join their corp so they could "show them the ropes" of boosting (their words, not mine). Seemed pretty low-class, but to each his own, as it served no purpose than to show others how to run off the new playerbase.
I know it doesn't matter. I know you will likely take this as an attack on the corp as I only have limited interaction, all negative. Regardless, most everyone I know has little to no opinion of Goons, as we are mostly dusters exclusively. I just felt the Goon-lovefest should have someone throw in some reality as well. Several ways to increase stats without resorting to boosting, and any corp which supports these particular methods is not one I think can effectively have any serious Dust-side impact. That is unless they are carried by corps with players who earned their stats. In which case, GL with that.

No one is going to get mad at you but I have 2 notes about this post. 1. We don't "boost" as you call it to pad our stats, too much attention gets paid to individual stats in this team game. We do that to have fun and troll, we don't actually care about our KDR.
2. We don't recruit among the public so anyone claiming to be recruiting for the purpose of teaching anybody anything is likely only trying to scam isk or annoy someone.
I fail to understand how crashing some prototype lone wolf sniper's KDR in a FW is running off new players but then again I doubt you do, I suspect your just repeating something you've heard someone else who doesn't like us say because it reinforces your own opinion.

I'm confused. Do you think Dust is a democracy where the most popular win? Nope. But if enough people actively oppose anyone's influences, it would be tough to maintain any semblance of control. While Eve/Dust merged economies could allow some large Eve entity a certain influence in Dust, the actual Dust corp would have to be strong on its own or it would be useless. Enough opposition could make pretty much any corp falter. Just a thought.

You misunderstand, I never denied any of your claims we absolutely do what your accusing us of just not for the reasons you originally thought. To be more clear Dust is not a great game, you would be hard pressed to find any aspect of it that isn't at least somewhat broken it is not worthy of reverence and should be approached as a vehicle for creating fun rather than a contest of skill.

I find it offensive that you imply that a number in this bad game matters.
Now had you decried us as assholes out to spoil the fun of our poor victims and made them scream I might have given you props for thinking in an almost goon-like fashion.
As it stands, you're vomiting the same crap that all of the tryhards spew.
Boosting. Boosting what? KDR? what in-game rewards are there for a high KDR? What accolades and ISK bonuses does it give? Does it make it easier to exploit PC mechanics? I know, there's something we missed. turning in KDR is like honor points in world of warcraft where you trade in a high KDR for good l33t PvP gear right?
No?
Then what useful purpose does KDR needlef*cking serve besides the joy of making someone scream and hopefully punt their PS3 through the TV? It gives no advantages except personal amusement and ragemail. Ragemail is the coin I trade in. Thank you tankers for all of it that you have showered upon me.
And before you say "KDR allows you into the best corps" just shut up. If you've joined goonfeet it's because you're of the opinion that all of the "good corps" are full of tryhard morons who can't tell the difference between real life accomplishment and a game well-(or badly) played. If anyone scolded you for trolling blues, they are not a true goon and you should have reported them immediately for questioning/re-education. And if you really want to mess with blues, slap about 3 REs on the tail fin of a viper that's packed full of blues and set them off about 5 feet above the ground. |

Nowhere in my posts do I mention the words kill or death other than to state exactly how they were boosting. I also agree k/d means nothing in this game, which is why I never mentioned it or "getting into a corp". I was specifically referring to using some poor sap who likely had no idea what was going on, and may likely never attempt this game again, to WP/SP farm the **** outta the poor bastard. Just doing that is a part of dust, and isn't anything I hadn't seen before. It was the jackassishness (yeah, not a real word) to brag in local about it that bothered me. I've yet to see or hear from a goon that didn't share this individual's view. That is fine as well, as I would hope you would all generally be of like mind.
So I just personally don't like anyone I've met from your corp. You guys generally put words in people's mouths, abuse noobs in unnatural ways, brag about it, and expect everyone to share your sentiment. While I find every bit of that hilarious, I just can't get past the fact that it reeks of elitism, which is something I can't stand.
So push on, continue to do what it is you all do, and good luck with that world domination thing. I happen to think you might need it. |

Nope. We have never beaten anyone, even the people we held a couple districts against for two and a half months under daily attack shortly after PC went live.
Nope. Never won a victory ever. We totally cannot participate in PC because we suck, not because we got tired of babysitting a siege timer every day against tryhards we don't care about.

Regarding earlier comments by terrible DUST players: Note that not all statements made by Top Men members reflect the views, outlook, or values of Top Men. Also, Killar is a troll, and Nomed does not play EVE. Also, Goonfeet and Top Men are allies, because our space bros are also allies, but other than that, we should mostly be addressed separately. In part, because Goons have no equal.
My favorite comment in the thread is the suggestion that Goons needle**** because they care about SP.

I've done a variant of this:
1)murder blue calling in tank 2)drive tank to enemy controlled area and abandon it to be hacked 3)watch blues get kicked for shooting tank
Has the added effect of pissing off the tanker you murdered (and maybe getting him booted if he tries to go after you) while not even costing you a militia tank. |

How pc battles has Goonfeet been in? Look up Ancient Exiles or Imperfects, chose a corp that has a lengthy list of district ownership, you will see that according to your logic, they never held districts, therefore never played a single PC match, until November of last year. |

I was going to tell you to do your homework and mock your comment, but apparently DOTLAN doesn't have records for PC district ownership before September and Lionshead already called you out. Here is an outline of Goonfeet's history with PC so that you may appear like less of an uninformed child in the future.
-Mid May: PC goes live, Imperfects run all over Molden Heath
-Imps end up with more territory than they're really able to defend, and ask Goons to take over a few of their districts in Hrober.
-We hold said districts for around a month or so (it felt like 2 1/2 months to Breakin because it was the same handful of us playing all the matches)
-Mid June EON shows up in Hrober, and between their piles of proto gear and us getting tired of timers, we eventually lose the districts.
TLDR you didn't play against us because Southern Legion wasn't in Hrober during late May / early June.

Well, I remembered, it just wasn't a major factor in educating some chestthumping tryhard with no clue what he was talking about. The Fountain War Eve side contributed a lot to our burnout though, since so many of our people (who would have been there for PC matches) were off shooting spaceships.
It was fun playing with the Imps though. Like when they killed more of us in a PC match then Subdreddit by drunkenly rolling over everyone in LAVs. |

The small selection of data you are talking about is fighting against the members of goonfeet who are in this thread talking **** and the data shows they are ****.
My corps history is having 10-12 districts for 80% of the time pc has been around. Who's coattails were we riding? Who's efforts besides our own are you referring to. Another post said you got given a district from imps and held it for month before giving up so yeah keep talking ****.
This character was started months before pc was realeased and i have been in many pc battles but i wasnt A team at the start. Im not overcompensating or trying to change the fabric of the past. You guys are the forum warriors. I am calling all you on your bullshit.

At of all the games in which you might be against one person with a goonfeet tag, including pubs (which is randomized team comp. btw) you think you can extrapolate performance from a small selection of data? On to PC, given your corp history and this characters birthdate, frankly I'm not surprised you didn't face goons in PC, and frankly you shouldn't be riding the coattails of others because your corp held a district that primarily involved other people's effort, instead of yours. So looking at your statement would suggest you're overcompensating or you're just that delusional to believe that your statement changes the fabric of the past as well as your perception of the past is all encompassing. well.. in all fairness... the letter L is OP
but long as no one QQs about it, the letter L shall continue to destroy all letters due to its OP awesomesauce
