Phew, ok. Here goes! *Cracks knuckles*
Immediate Thing
Something that could be added right away (within the next 2-3 weeks I imagine is a fair proposition) is the ability to alter your avatar that appears both in-game and on the forums. Of course, one wouldn't be able to just upload a picture of anything (you can use your imagination I imagine) but perhaps implement the ability to alter it in the same way you can in EVE, a minimal character profile customization that could perhaps use what is used in EVE! This may seem like something that would be more of a 'medium tier' implementation BUT I think since the technology is already in CCP's possession it could not be too far from reach. This would mean players could really get that personal feel to their character rather than the cold, lifeless imagine you see me bear right now.
I couldn't expect in this 'immediate thing' that CCP would be able to turn your actual merc-quarters character into what you see in the picture, not just yet. I believe that could come in time, though. For now I think the avatar alone could provide for a more engaging experience and create some recognizable faces. We all know there's a lot of role play in Dust, and a LOT of ego and meta. I think this sort of personality and customization would really exemplify those features.
2014 Thing
For my medium thing! I bring you the concept... the wondrous and amazing idea.... DRONE TECHNOLOGY. I'm not quite talking about PvE right now as that of course is a big big step forward and perhaps more of a future vision, but something that could certainly be followed. I think the introduction of pub/PC match drones could add a completely new dynamic and give certain players, namely logis, an increased and deadly role on the battlefield. I wouldn't suggest that these drones be the ones we've seen briefly in PvE (You remember that 2 minute trailer that CCP released for Uprising), I envision these to be smaller, more personalized and of a more supportive nature, these would all be of the same size. Some examples of drone types:
- Ammo Drone: Pretty self-explanatory I imagine. This (I'll say endless ammo based on the destructibility factor) would be a drone that would have a speed similar to an assault suit to hover and follow a player and resupply that player with ammo constantly. This ammo replenish would only be stopped by an enemy destroying the drone. Upon higher skill progression the drone could be trained to replenish the ammunition of other players, too.
- Combat Drone: A hover drone with what would effectively be a miniature combat rifle fitted, although upon skill progression some variations would become available such as a flaylock-round variant. These mounts would be less powerful than a handheld variant yet they would certainly still be able to pack a punch. The drone would act semi-independantly in combat but would follow the player around generally.
- Scanner Drone: A drone that can be deployed and upon such would fly high into the air and scan with a large radius downwards. This would be ideal for city based combat. The scans would be at proto level, and infinite. Sound OP? The catch is these drones are signifcantly more visible themselves and with the right gear (Longer range weapons; Sniper, Lazer, rail rifle) could be shot down in seconds.
- Shield Drone: A drone designed to buff the shield (or armour) of the player it follows. This could also perhaps be interpreted or altered into a repair drone. Either way, it would follow the player with the aforementioned bonus and protect them with increased HP or repairs.
I could go on for ages with so many different ideas for miniature drones but I think you get the idea. Obviously this seems as first like a one-way road to FotM/OP town. But I think with some hefty drawbacks and costs of using these there could be something really nice set up here. Such drawbacks to balance are:
- EXTREMELY intensive CPU/PG cost - Used in an equipment slot - Upon destruction release an EMP blast, this could significantly damage the player using the drone if they are in range - Only one drone deployed per player, so one could not keep switching suits and deploy hundreds of them or even different variants.
Whilst I think one could be allowed to lock onto others to select who the drone could attack to, I think this would only be allowed at proto level and perhaps not at all, considering this could put up some major trolling capabilities.
This as it standards would need some technical ironing but I think with some careful implementation this concept could alter the dynamic of the battlefield.
FUTURE VISION!!!
If we're talking LONG LONG term. There's something I've always wanted this game to become, and that's having the ability to customize one's district. That would mean fortifications, enlargement of maps, adding in new structures, placements of turrets and walls.. implementation of Drones etc etc.
This would make it so that battles would not be 15 minute spam fests, but HOUR long seiges, week long campaigns and expensive attacks that make the idea of owning even just a SINGLE district so much more rewarding and meaningful. Corporations could put their isk and power into upgrading their districts.
This could help to solve the issue of one corporation monopolising everything, as spreading your weight around makes defense that much more difficult. This could also work to make the ownership of districts last longer, AND due to the enormous ISK expense begin to allow the merging of the EVE economy with our own.
Who knows, but I think combining this future vision with the idea of PvE, Sandbox world and some other ideas I've seen written would change the face of Dust514 and EVE forever... in a totally brilliant way.
Thanks. Sorry for the ridiculously long post but I'm bored in school, cheers!!

I would like to see academy WP bounce up to at least 30k to get out.
I would like to see the MAV come out.
I would love to get an open market for buy, sell, trade ect...
I want to see a point in time where we can pick a certain map to play on as well as new game modes like capture the flag, board(boarding an eve ship and fighting to protect it), more connections with eve online, eve/dust trade and sell currency,
I would like to see vaulting added so heavys can at least hope over rails.
cover system so we do not have to crouch and still get shot.
prone system for our assault to go in undetected.
drones.
PVE
PVE where we can be paid by eve players to help them mine or protect them from other ships. us taking the place of Hobgoblin's
i would also REALLY want to have an alliance tab in our NEOCOM so we can look to see what corps are in the alliance.
I also REALLY want to be able to have your alliance become allys with other alliances without having to leave your current alliance. doing so will allow corps as well as alliances to go deeper into what dust and eve could be.
In all. this game has SOOOO much potential. ccp is still working out the bugs. but once ALL OF THIS becomes a reality... i want to say I was there.
i hope you like my idea's. i am also in need of isk. kinda broke right now. NOT FROM PROTO! i invest a lot of my isk into helping other players in our alliance out as well as our corp members. Thank You.

A little something:
Delete the immersion breaking shrubbery. It only impairs vision ala rendering and provides nothing positive to the visual stimulus. With the already limited RAM on the PS3 the focus should be less on Map Assets & Visual Polish, & more on Coding Optimization & Gameplay Mechanics. Save the Body Glitter & Fluff for the PS4..... A functioning Game is far more engaging & retentive than interacting with a single 3D 8K tree on the Oculus Rift.....
Think about it..... SNES had RPGs with FAAAAAAAAAAAR more content, depth, and quality. Every subsequent Final Fantasy past 6 AKA 3 in the US (FYI I love 7 & 9) has only gotten progressively worse in every aspect. 7 sacrificed little, but it was slightly less emotionally involving. 8 was flashy, but sacrificed core mechanics (Draw System....) & had sleep-inducing BGMs (World Map Elevator Music). 9 went back to the "Roots", making this the last of a dying breed. 10 & up??? No World Maps, no Pilotable Vehicles (RIP Airships...), extremely linear progression, increasingly "Cookie Cutter" Story, Musical Scores & Theatrics diminish in value, less Minigames/Side-Questing, & eventually.....Auto-Play Systems added (Gambits/Paradigm Shift). Get the point yet???
Something I would like to see in 2014:
Without going on a massive tangent on everything I should expect to see in 2014.....I'll keep it simple & effective, PvE. The very instant PvE is implemented you should notice 60-80% of the Issues & QQ are alleviated. Notice how I didn't say outright eliminated???
PvE will almost entirely eliminate the need to augment Battle Academy since you will be providing a minimal stress environment that allows for easier battle testing & experience gain. You will draw in a significantly broader Playerbase, more specifically those less PvP oriented, AKA "Carebears". The MMORPG crowd would feel more inclined to give this Genre a chance should they not be force fed PvP.
You will definitely draw in the Borderlands, Defiance, etc. Co-op FPS/3PS crowd with any form of properly instanced PvE. The "Casuals" & "Newberries" will be less burdened by "Protostomp" with the implementation of this new "Escape" option, thus relieving the Matchmaking QQers (FYI Stricter Matchmaking would actually murder this Title's playability.....) This also provides a fresh Gameplay Experience that would even satisfy the Vets. An available PvP Escape benefits all Parties involved, & if implemented correctly with an appealing Reward System it could very well contribute to &/or alter the META.
Co-op provides a means to reduce "Toxicity", both ingame & on the Forums. It also allows for a better Environmental Control for testing purposes

Little thing: being able to see again the health bars of my teammates when I'm using a repair toolo.
By 2014: Customization for weapons, you can buy the basic platform and then modify it to match your playstile, from a stealthy cqc hipfire machine, to a long range heavy hitting dmr, all.on the same weapon applying different attachments.
Future: deep, and I mean really deep eve integration, I would like to see dust mercs being picked up by a pilot in eve and dropped into a pos of a rival corporation: while pilots are fighting for the space control a team of dust players fights inside trying to deactivate the defences of the structure. I want mercs to be able to board and raid the bigger ships in eve to support their faction/alliance/corporation

Now
Remove all militia and basic gear. Rename advanced gear "Militia" and rename prototype gear "Standard". Adjust costs so that advanced gear has militia gear costs. Leave prototype gear costs how they are. Apply this to all items. This has kind of already happened to vehicles. (e.g. Soma -> Madrugar, and nothing else)
Watch how the gameplay pans out. Advanced gear is only slightly weaker than prototype but now the cost discrepency is incredible. Soon everyone turns to advanced gear; matchmaking is unneeded and New Eden remains a 'sandbox' in that we aren't divided arbitrarily.
Prototype gear remains to give the most competitive players an edge in PC/FW, but the difference is much less than the mlt -> pro gap we have now.
This seems like a big change but all CCP have to do is switch some numbers and delete lots of items.
Now, we are presented with a problem: what do people do once they've unlocked everything, since there's so little progression?
Soon
Implementation of numerous variants based on the new, two-tier model, to solve the problem of progression raised previously. Variants are similar to the specialisations we have now (Scout, Logistics, Sentinel, Assault, Commando). The Pilot suit -which I am eagerly awaiting- is one. How about a Light-Frame with a cloaking bonus? A medium frame with an armour repair bonus. A logistics suit with no weapon slot and five equipment slots. A light-frame with two weapon slots, similar to the Black Eagle? A commando suit with a light weapon and two sidearms?A sentinel suit with ~=4 high slots, ~=4 low slots (depending on race) but only has a sidearm? The possibilities are endless, I could fill a whole post simply with different variants. CCP could too, except to bring them all in now is exceptionally difficult because balancing gear against so many tiers is bloody tough.
The initial change mentioned above sets the stage for these variants to be implemented because balancing gear is so much easier when you don't have to take into account all the tiers (and tears) we have now. Just look at the complaints about how the progression from basic->advanced->complex shield extenders are all wrong. Look at how people pointed out that it was only the prototype CalLogi that was the problem. The ridiculously low fitting costs of flaylocks across all tiers. The massive thread Arkena wrote on balancing armour because they weren't balanced against shields. The common factor in all these problems are tiers! If there wasn't so much to take into account CCP could've easily spotted these issues.
Anyways, I digress. Back to progression. The SP system is balanced for newbies to vets because older players can only expand sideways (just like in real life!) in that the specialisations (like the ones mentioned above) will be balanced against the base suit. Every specialisation has weaknesses but also strengths, unlike the current tier progression where the next suit up is better in every way. Newbies have suits that are good overall whereas veterans have suits that HIGHLIGHT their chosen role on the battlefield. The commando with two sidearms and a light weapon should be faster than the current commando, but also have less HP. This means you're specialising in that niche role between Assault and Heavy, where you operate within that SPECIALISED close-medium range between most light weapons and the HMG/shotgun.
SoonGäó
Now that we have addressed what I personally believe is the core problem with the progression system at the moment...
I want to see a fully-fledged contract board. Because gear is balanced as per above, players should be able to select their own matches and have an enjoyable but challenging experience in any game.
I want to boot up the contract board instead of the battle finder, and I want to select that contract for Freedom Expansion because they're offering 50 EXO-5 Mass Drivers and 2,000,000 ISK. But then I want to raise open up the Neocom conveniently embedded in a wrist-forearm display in the middle of the battle and see that on the other side, Kaalakiota is offering 20,000,000 ISK to every mercenary fighting against Freedom because the information we're hacking into is more important than Freedom even knew. I want to suddenly see mass amounts of enemies pouring in to fight for Kaalakiota, and I want the game to make me struggle to make the choice: "Do I join them?"
I want to lounge in my merc quarters, flicking through contracts, find an easy 200,000 ISK for simply being there as a presence, and as I'm flying my dropships in lazy circles, I want to see the sky get torn open as an orbital strike devastates the defensive installations, and clouds part only to reveal dozens of dropships much like my own pour from the heavens unleashing a withering barrage of fire on my craft, forcing me to jump and quickly realise that the dropship negated any profit I could've made, but just as I am about to blow my own face off with my scrambler pistol and get out of there the defending corporation jacks up the reward to 200,000,000 ISK, two-hundred million, and I take the pistol out of my mouth and turn around to bitterly defend against a small army apparently by myself, and in the end after thousands of deaths it turns out I do actually protect the objective and after the reward only make a 200,000 ISK profit and heartily laugh my way home.

A little thing:
Would not be much, but I would like the ability to add a Biography to our characters, like what EVE players can do, it would make the "Show Info" on a player much much more interesting and add a like personalisation to each player. It would also be easier to implement than face customization in my opinion.
Something you would like to see in 2014:
Corporate Hangar:
Allowing players to drop useless equipment for them but useful to other, another alternative to Tax to help corporations grow while helping their corpmates and recruits.
Weapon Testing Room:
A huge room (be it empty or not) with writings on floor and wall with distances, being able to bring a dropsuit/weapon in this room to test its firing range (Since weapon ranges aren't included in weapon description) or projectile behavior for weapons such as Mass Driver or Swarm Launcher.
The room would have screen near the entrance where you could specify what type or weapon or floor layout you would like to move into (ex: Long Range, closed installation, partly closed installation, close range). No need for detailed surfaces, this is only to get familiar with your suit or weapon without being under the stress of ennemi attack. Testing Dropsuit mobility, weapon range and efficiency without losing isk.
Corporation Training Room (Same concept as Weapon Testing Room)):
Corporations could purchase access to a permanent larger room in a Space Station (Probably in the Corporation HeadQuarter System), where they could bring in one or two squad to practice tactics, communication and teamwork.
Your future vision:
Pretty much what I see the game will come to one day...
Integrated Market with EVE, Ability for Dust players owning district to produce something off the Surface infrastructure be it modules, weapons or raw material, Standings with core Factions and player run Corporations or Alliances, Newborn Dusters starting with Racial specific "Starter Fits", Ability to take Faction contracts (Missions) with Agents and make progress to higher tier contracts, Ability to trade between players, Corporate Hangar, Players wining a match being able to see the ennemi MCC ship explode or warp away (If ennemi team was cloned) from their character's vision on the ground,
New modules and equipments such as: Webber tool (Within its firing range would slow down a vehicule, helping teammates finish it off), Scrambler Tool (Dropped equipment that prevents or corrupts Active Scanners, must be destroyed or hacked to negate effect), Smoke Grenades with different color (Alternative to call an air strike or visual cover for tactical retreat), Shield resistance or plating resistance modules (adding a % of resistance to X damage type)
Weapon customization:
weapon customization slots (ex: basic=no cust. slot, adv=1 cust. slot & pro=2 cust. slot), Attaching customization modules would increase the CPU/PG requirement of the weapon for small bonuses (reduce heat build-up, different laser crystal for range/damage, increased clip size, increased RoF, reduced kick, different scopes, etc.
Bounty:
Ability to put a bounty on a player's head.
Will end it here, but it just feels epic. |

Hmmm...
Little Thing: Extend Academy to 100,000 WP/ 2,000,000 SP. Whichever is met first. This would greatly improve the NPE. Gear Restrictions would be in place for Academy Battles, and limits them to Meta Level 2 or below gear, as to eliminate Proto Stomping here. Academy Members can join higher tiered battles if they want to try out the new weapon the just unlocked.
2014 Thing: Racial suits/vehicles/weapons. This is long overdue, should have been added when Uprising released. The next expansion should include these things.
Big Thing: Free Roam. Procedurally generated planet surfaces. Traveling from planet to planet would be done with the Interbus, hired Capsuleers, or Jump Clones.
High-Sec Planets would be largely off limits, only accessible via the current lobby-style battle system we are currently using. Your Security Status would determine whether you can do these battles or not. High-end gear is outlawed here, and using it would be seen as a criminal offence by CONCORD, punishable with a hefty fine, clone termination, and a lowered Security Status.
Low-Sec Planets would be free roam with medium-large colonies on them, these colonies would have strict laws enforced, and people would live life by the gun in these areas. Has a somewhat western feel to it. Prototype gear isn't outlawed here, but law dictates that you are able to be shot-on-sight for using it by any other mercs.
Null-Sec Planets would be lawless, and wild. Rogue Drones, Sansha's Raids, Pirates, quickly assembled mining facilities, and small border colonies would be commonplace here. Making a living here would be hard and dangerous. There would be no gear restrictions and so wearing anything but Prototype Gear would be considered foolish, as anyone can shoot you at anytime without reason.

I think we should be able to do things like in eve,
bpo will help make more precious objects:weps, suits, modules.
bounties will be very important because it will prevent protostomping, because after a while a dude will put a bounty on your head. this means a possible group of people will form up and hunt them down.
Also a cloaking module should be added for scouts that allow them to sneak up on enemies.
Grenades:
flash grenades should be instated that blind enemies for a while std:2 sec adv:3 proto: 5 sec
the ability to strap equipment on mercs,i.e a merc that acts a walking cru.
the ability to free roam on the planets. a corporation could build a base on a planet after capturing it via PC.invaders will have to either blow up the base or capture it.
The ability to board a titan or any other type of ship to fly to other planets or even have a battle inside the titan.
the winning team can then disable it or completely take over it.The titans will be a npc so that eve players are no taffected much.
also,i want fighter jets to roam the skies giving better air support along with bombers that will be able to destroy outpostsor compounds.
finally, I want a land titan that can be controlled by mercs to lead an assault before the null cannons destroy it.

Something straight away.
Dropsuit and weapon resistances and resistance plates. Importing the same shield and armor restances to dropsuits as the ships in eve as well as the damage types that weapons do would fix a helluva lot of problems with weapons and suits. The assault suits could get naturally higher resists than logis making them more favorable, lasers would do correct damage to armor. shield tankers could fit EM/Thermal resist plates to counter lasers too, armor tankers could fit explosive plates to help with nade spam. it would just help balancing the weapons easier than the flat +/- 10-20% we have now if damage calculation is taken from resists.
Something in 2014
Manufacturing to solve the BPO mess Yes some say it may be too complicated for the general FPS grunt but then most aspects of games these days are unknown to us until we play them. Did anyone know the recipe for an invisibility spell in Skyrim before they tried? Did any of us know which weapons and suits would suit us before uprising? fact is manufacturing would be there to give long term players a new mechanic to the game. If we had BPOs on the market again for just the standard gear (as well as allowing those of us to use the BPOs we own too) and introduce 2 skills
Manufacturing - +1 Manufacturing Job per level Manufacturing Efficiency - 10% increase to production rate per level
CCP can balance the base build times to give roughly 20 dropsuits, 30 Weapons, 4 LAVs, 2 HAV/DS per day. Players can buy build materials from market or implement them into FW rewards and build cheap equipment for either themselves or to sell on the market to fund HAV or proto use. Corps could use them to entice new recruits with starter packages of suits, weapons and LAVs.
Something for the future
Simply that DUST514 survives long enough to achieve its potential There is a lot of similar games arriving from larger development companies with a lot more money and my only wish is that DUST514 can stand out with the unique features that the others don't have and that it makes it through the rough patches

My entry, one word: Ziplines.
Marketed as only a Scout light primary weapon, that Scouts and Medium suits can use, if Heavy frames try to attach they break the line and fall, only destructable by explosives such as grenades, or flux grenades that breaks the magnetic attachment. Possibily for the zipline mechanism to 'hook' enemy Scouts and Medium suits to drag the red towards the Scout to awaiting Secondary weapon such as sub-machine gun, or nova knives.
Trademarked 'Frag Line' Magnetic Hook.
Alot of players love the idea when I have brought it up with them so please like this post.
Further thoughts? Smoke cannisters on MLT HAV ECM / Flares for dropships, Jets, Bombers, LogiDropships... ohh wait they have deleted LogiD/s which is heartbreaking and alot of pilots and squads are disapointed. Target painter switch on Proto sniper rifles. Webifier grenades or hives. VenusFly trap hives from =EvE= lore that look blue but on detection shoot out barb wires 360-¦ that can either shock sheild off or pull in the frames to self detonating explosives.
What are players thoughts on these? Catch up with me in my Pro/Slayer channel : RAZORWORK |

Humm.... Speeders
Message from Godin: These, and here's a idea for new BPO's that won't hurt the market: paint jobs.
So basically what these items would do is give us a custom paint job (or even a custom suit design if you pay a little more, like say a cloak around a suit or something), as well as a name to said suit. It could even work for vehicles and weapons.
If they are put in before manufacturing, all we would have to do is attach them to a fit (a new slot that takes up nothing, should be right beside the suit icon in the fitting menu), and we can go along the way. However, when manufacturing comes along, we could make it to where when we put in the blueprint, a special slot could appear asking for a BP for the camo.
EDIT: Godin wants a blaster on his speeder (or a autocannon, either works ), and to be able to shoot his Ion pistol while on said speeder. |

A little thing: CCP announced today that they will be expanding the involvement of resistances in the game. The new system will mirror the resistance system from eve (separate resistances for EM, Thermal, Kinetic and Explosive damage types for both armor and shields). Their reasoning is that this will enrich the game experience by increasing TTK. Each race will have a "resistance profile" that will be consistent across all dropsuits and vehicles for each race. Weapons will be receiving an overhaul in an upcoming patch, taking into account the new resistance profiles.
2014: CCP Rogue was part of a video DevBlog posted to YouTube today on CCP's official channel. In it he gave what many consider to be lofty (if not impossible) plans for Dust514 in 2014 as well as displaying tremendous confidence in his team at CCP Shanghai. "I give you my word that this year will be big for Dust 5-1-4! It is my pleasure to announce that we will be fleshing out all of the missing vehicle types and all racial variants. This is not a trademarked Soon either, we will have this accomplished by Q3 2014. I am so confident in our ability to deliver on these promises that, should my team fail in this endeavor, I will personally feed my own ********* to a goat! In celebration of accomplishing these goals we will be moving all merc who are members of District holding corps to new Merc Barracks on their held Districts. Districts will now be open (outside of battles) to members of the holding corp as well as anyone with appropriate standings. Finally, playercounts for non-PC matches will be increased to 32v32 and for PC matches to 64v64 (yes, we will also be more fully utilizing the battlefield maps to accommodate)".
Vision for the Future: Dateline, Summer Expansion 2017. CCP is proud to present the 9th totally free expansion to Dust, Galactic Deployment. This is by far the largest single expansion to date. What does it add you ask? Dust514 will now provided the console FPS market with the same, open world, sandbox gameplay environment that Eve provides for the PC space sim genre. This also heralds the final step in transparency between Eve and Dust514. This is truly a monumental day in the world of cross-platform gaming.

I really like these giveaways. It's not really the ISK, it's the themes. I enjoyed reading about loads of different fits last time and the posts here are just as enjoyable.
So, my entry.
A little thing:
I would like to see a scout buff.
Scouts are by far the worst off group in Dust at the moment - they have miniscule HP, barely any room to fit modules, low slot count, only a marginal speed and stealth advantage. It's possible for medium frames to get scan profiles almost as low as scouts, and similar speeds - I've taken to running KinCats on my Amarr Assault rather than using a scout simply because there's so little difference. Active scanners can pick almost anything up if they're motivated to anyway.
They don't have the versatility to use equipment that seems so suited to them - it's sad. Their weapons are lacklustre. You can backpedal away from nova knives fairly easily and shotguns aren't very lethal except when you're practically touching the enemy.
I'd like to see the speed advantage increase, a decrease in scanner effectiveness, a second equipment slot, more PG/CPU, more slots, nova knife fixes. Perhaps not all of them, but love for the scouts. I'm hoping that this is actually coming as well.
2014
Well. There are lots of things that I'd love to see in 2014 that I feel are realistic goals. Not necessarily all of them, but some of them.
I'll go for multiple - I hope you don't mind!
The first thing I'd like to see would be active modules. At the moment, infantry combat is just bricktank and/or damage mods. Ideally, this would change that.
Here's how it would work - It's similar to the 'waves of opportunity' mentality that's being applied to active tanked vehicles at the moment. You have active modules, and you have passive modules. The passive modules would work much as they do now - you put the module onto the fitting, and it applies the effect permanently whilst fitted. The active modules would work differently, much like vehicle modules. You would go to the equipment wheel and select the module to activate it. As an example, you could have armour/shield hardeners - increasing your resistance and your effective toughness for a short period before cooling down. This allows you to get an advantage in things like cover to cover combat - giving you high burst HP. This would be balanced by being in high/low slots - you'd have to sacrifice passive modules to fit hardeners or active modules, making you weaker than a passive user when the modules aren't active. This would make you vulnerable to things like snipers or ambushes in return for the strength you can get in burst periods.
There's a lot that could be done with this - you could have speed boosts, quick regen modules, shield/armour hardeners, damage amplifiers, hack ciphers, etc. It'd introduce a great deal more variety into what can be done with fittings, and variety is the spice of life.
The second thing is the economy. I think this is crucial to Dust's development as a meaningful shooter with consequence as well as a sandbox. Amazing things have been done with the market in EVE - it's almost entirely player regulated, as I think you know.
It'd allow a great deal of interesting things to happen in Dust. An economy would develop - you could sell and trade your salvage for equipment you're actually likely to use. This could help regulate the FotM and underpowered roles, as FotM items are in very high demand leading to a higher price for them whilst 'underpowered' items are less used and so any spares end up going for a low price.
Luxury goods could be bought and sold, letting people's bank accounts be more useful than just having stockpiles of the same suits - got a lot of ISK, feeling good? Splurge and get an officer item for your next match!
It lets scams happen. This could be seen as a bad thing, but it drives emergent gameplay - people conning others into handing over their kit for cheap, mislabelling items.
It drives conflict. ISK becomes of more value than just having enough to fund your normal equipment. PC districts could become more hotly contested as people become very interested in those ISK sources.
It paves the way for LP stores in FW. It's absolutely crucial to the success of the upcoming FW system that the LP store items can be bought and sold - there is no other way for FW players to fund themselves. This can also create interesting balancing factors within the warzone - if one side is losing badly and the other is winning, then the winning side's wares go for less as there's a greater supply, and the loser's LP store items go up in price, incentivising people to try and change the balance of the warzone. These battles have meaning as a result of this - people care whether they win or lose, how well their faction is doing. The space war changes as a result of what's happening on the ground. In the Gallente/Caldari warzone battles over systems like Heydieles were changed massively as a result of what was happening on the ground - the market could bring even more of an interesting balance in the warzone.
Thirdly (I started talking about this in the last point) faction warfare revamps. I'm pretty sure these are coming though!
And finally, full racial parity. Simply for the variety - there are so many cool things that could yet be done with full racial parity - fully armoured Gallente heavies, Amarr combat scouts, surprisingly fast yet tough Minmatar heavies (with added duct tape)!
I'm running out of space in this post, so I'll continue on to future vision in my next one.
I'd just like to say that actually, I think CCP can do a fair bit in 2014. I know there's a lot of doubt, but the game has actually come a long way since the first days.

*Little Thing* :
Lets us be able to go in our own districts. To be able to use our districts as training grounds without the need to look for a corp that will attack without the fear of them trying to steal it themselves if they feel like they have a chance. Click our districts and click training mode, only works if the district in question is locked if being under attacked it will not work, cost about 5mil can be used twice or three times a day, if had unlimited amount corps would abuse it to lock districts. No isk/sp reward, friendly fire on, and doesn't require/use clones. For 50 mins gives us the chance to practice dropship flying and techniques without being blown up to bits for just testing a dropship, practice using a tank, infantry tactics, test out theories with weps and equipment for example prox mines formation which formation gives you the most punch? V-shape? diagonal line? etc etc etc. Why friendly fire? Well to train dropships pilots and tankers practice avoiding and evading incoming fire,' have mini battles' to test tactics and what not from what I listed above. Of course its controlled so when they get near death cease fire repair and continue training. This will help training without so much isk loss from trying to train in pub matches.
Also gives a place to relax a bit..maybe do some lav racing/derby, dropships racing/derby, maybe a nova knife tournament or melee tournament, basically just relax from all the killing and have some fun time with corp mates.
*Something I would like to see in 2014*:
New Game Modes!!! PvP is great and all but sometimes it gets frustrating and becomes the same routine for some maps so PvE will help resolve the frustration and mix it up a bit. Getting together with some friends and shoot down some drones sounds great and all but I want something more than that. I want special PvE for each race. So Caldari/Amarr have PvE which pits them against some Min/Gal in special missions..to take down installations, set up bombs to blow up base setups, steal plans or tech, sabotage enemies production facilities or just plain clear and conquer . Maybe give missions that need to be done in a certain amount of time or really rely on stealth and avoid being seen or you get a penalty when caught not just run and gun through out it. For example a small rag tag team was able to infiltrate a titan and now they are tasked with setting bombs inside to destroy the vessel and steal some plans in the process. That sounds awesome but a titan map might be stretching it a bit so maybe a research facility where your able to go inside the facility and such.
Of course each mission would have a difficulty setting Rookie/Merc/New Eden each with a higher isk payout and higher chance for salvages but that also means the enemies are better equipped basic/adv/proto gear. But you can only do 10 or a decent number of them each day..cause lets be honest if it gonna be this great who would come back to PvP.
Some of these ideas can be implemented for PvP not just PvE... who can destroy each enemies camps/bases faster by planting explosives takes 4mins for explosives to set up and 1min for it to explode. Its not just go plant and run away the opposing teams can diffuse the bombs as well each team has to get in to place the bombs anywhere in the encampment is fine( outside of it does not count) and the team has to find and diffuse there will be a lil pop up that alerts that there is a bomb..scanners cant pick them up so you gotta look. This may take some time so time limit of 20mins/30mins so games wont go on forever. Stealing the plans/tech can be some sort of capture the flag. Go steal and bring back to your mcc as fast as you can before you egt gunned down. Highest number of plans/tech stolen wins.
*Your Future Vision* :
I want to see the battle field a huge chaotic mess. I want to see fighters in the sky duking it out while avoiding AV projectiles from grounds forces and tank fire. Explosions every which way. Dropships bobbing and weaving in the sky to transport troops across the field. I want to see tanks duking it out against each other as well as those mechs they are working on. Imagine mechs just tearing at each other while infantry battles around them.I want fierce intense battles that will be a story every merc will talk about and wish they were there. I dont want this taking place on the maps we have now I want this to take place on maps that look like there was a battle going on. I dont want to see any intact buildings I want to see smoldering remains of buildings..half destroyed buildings..craters from explosions, trees on fire or stumps of trees or trees that have fallen and can be used as cover. I want a real battleground. |

The little thing : Strafe speed reintroduction to scouts
Since the imput, then removal of strafe in the game, the scout has gone through many nerfs while other classes have recieved a buff. Currently scouts are the most underpowered suit in the game, with the reintroduction of strafe speed to their suit they would become useful in competitive gameplay again. Thats not to say that people who use scouts arnt useful, but with it being such an underpowered suit, this slight buff could be a balancing point.
Something you would like to see in 2014 : Finishing of the racial suits for the current suits we have.
As the subtitle says, the competion of the racial scouts, heavies and commando's. With them being finished people who have been saving SP and not fulling enjoying the game would be closer to doing so. Many people know how hard it is to save up even a million SP for a skill thats currently in the game, but try saving for something thats currently unavailable but coming Soon.TM. It would be heart breaking and disapointing to have to wait so long and not enjoy the game.
Your future vision : PVE and what it could be
PVE is something nearly every MMO has. As Dust is suppost to be an MMO I believe PVE should be included. We've heard the devs talk about it, but really, I dont think everyone understands just how important it could be. New players would no longer need to deal with the grind that is public matches while getting stomped by more experianced players. There would be something for casual players to do while, something that could bring a more social aspect of the game and something that would inspire teamwork instead of just the "lone wolf" mentallity newer and some older players bring to this game.

#1 I'd like CCP to release all racial weapons, suits, vehicles, etc. This includes balancing everything to damn near perfection. It's quite a bit to ask for, but I'm optimistic CCP can do it sometime in 2014. Players need a peace of mind when they skill into something. I often find myself second guessing when deciding to skill into a weapon or suit simply because I don't know if it's going to be completely different by the time the game is finished or if there will be a weapon/suit I would prefer better but hasn't been released yet. When this content is complete I won't have to be worried when I skill into anything.
#2 Gamemodes are the next thing I would like to see CCP implement. Here is one such gamemode that I brainstormed -->https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1496088#post1496088 TL;DR A primary objective (orbital artillery) is captured and charges up after a period of time to destroy an EVE ship. The cannon's charge time/power/accuracy are effected by controlling secondary objectives.
Other gamemodes I would like to see are battles on the warbarge, boarding and hijacking EVE ships, dynamic battles transitioning from space to planets and planets to space, and anything that expands the sandbox in general.
#3 PS3/PS4/PC compatibility. I definitely think this game should be available on multiple platforms. I am sure DUST will eventually be ported to PS4, but I think a move to PC would benefit the game immensely. EVE online has been around for a decade. The fact that it is on PC is the only way this was able to happen. PS3 is going to go away, PS4 will go away, but PCs won't. I'm certainly not a PC fanboy, I hardly play anything on PC due to my PC's s*****ness. Imagine if EVE was originally released on PS2. It wouldn't be around. If DUST is to live up to EVE, a move to PC must happen.
#4 A persistent open world is something I envision DUST being when 100% complete. This won't happen in 2014 or even maybe 2015, but I have faith CCP will get there. Imagine flying in a squadron of dropships to an enemy district from your own. You have to travel through low security deserts and mountains full or pirates and raiders just to take another corporation's district. The district is an area larger than any map we have so far, enabling the use of large scale strategy. There is no clone count, no fixed amount of players able to participate. A true sandbox.
With all of this said, I feel that a lot of players don't see CCP's potential or realize that this game can become really awesome. The most important thing we need to do is keep playing and support CCP no matter how pissed off we get at them.

1 - Real first person view in aerial and ground vehicles with instruments.
2 - I would like to see more Eve link and PvE.
3 - Ahh... http://www.wallpaperez.org/games/zoom/Dust-514-2487.html
If... if this map becomes reality... dust will be in my memories for ever.
Imagining me fly over this massive terrain with my fighter jet. With a giant laser beam impacting the ground from the sky with 2-3 MCC's pushing forwards with tank and infantry and aerial units all together...
But unfortunately this was probably only possible on the Carbon Framework.
I am not expecting to win, just wanted to share my dreams.

A little thing: Something that probably could be implemented right away and improve the game experience, without taking too much time from the developers.
Something you would like to see in 2014: Be it technical upgrades, modules, game modes, vehicles, game design changes, UI, economy, whatever! :D
Your future vision: Aka Titan boarding. What epic content would you like to see in the future? Feel free to go wild, within the boundaries of reality that is ;)
A little thing: Remove the skybox.
2014: All racial variety, real new content rolling in every 3-4 months with the named expansions.
The future: Full-scale massive battles with 128 vs 128 like MAG did, I would like the see grappling hooks and tomahawks only available to scouts, if the hook and zipline is used by anything heavier than a scout, it will break.
Imagine me with my tomahawk in my Minnie scout, sneaking up to a heavy smashing the tomahawk into his face and silently dragging his body away from the battlefield.
I would then get picked up by a dropship which get shot down by a fighter, as it blows up, I jump out, land on the fighter-jets canopy, shoot the windscreen out with my flaylock pistol. I shove the tomahawk into the pilots mouth and throw him out the jet, he falls helplessly towards the ground.
I take control of the jet and fly towards a massive Explosion caused by an Eve pilot on this map: http://www.wallpaperez.org/games/zoom/Dust-514-2487.html

Variety is the spice of life.
More Gamemodes. Dust would become alot more enjoyable with new gamemodes. Currently we have three (four if you count Ambush OMS). More gamemodes will keep the game fresh and interesting.
More weapons. The addition of the Combat Rifle and the Rail Rifle is awesome because as of late I have found myself growing bored of my current arsenal.
More vehicles. Since I have been getting bored of the infantry weapons I have turned to vehicles to spice things up. Being a Logi LAV is surprisingly fun although you get no war points for healing friendly tanks.
More dropsuits. The commando suit is the newest suit and I feel that it can be experimented with the most. Whenever I`m bored, turning to the commando suit can be fun. I just wish there was a way to make a faster commando to take advantage of that insane melee damage. |
