Hello,
It is time for another giveaway \o/
With 1.7 we are nearing the end of the patches that are mainly driven by balancing and polish (Not that I don't like that). I hope that some time during late spring stuff like MTAC's will start rolling in. but until then, let's daydream a little. I ask three things from you:
A little thing: Something that probably could be implemented right away and improve the game experience, without taking too much time from the developers.
Something you would like to see in 2014: Be it technical upgrades, modules, game modes, vehicles, game design changes, UI, economy, whatever! :D
Your future vision: Aka Titan boarding. What epic content would you like to see in the future? Feel free to go wild, within the boundaries of reality that is ;)
Just as last time, try and "sell" me your ideas. Why would they be a good addition to the game? Don't shy away from being elaborate; make the reader really want to support what you bring forward. The posts that convince me the most will have the chance to win the following:
1st Prize: 100mil ISK & 1x Templar Set - currently without Uplink, but I'll try to get my hands on one of those. No promises though =(
2nd Prize: 100mil ISK
3rd Prize: 50mil ISK

It should be what you think is most beneficial. I won't give ratings based on the amount of separate ideas, but if it's a whole interconnected concept for example, going into detail about more than one part of it would make sense. Focus and common sense I guess :3 |

An "open world" mode where you can freeroam planets and fight enemies without private or public contracts, and you can join parties, set up corp bases, or just test stuff out. Of course you can kill your enemies and raid bases if hey Rent very well protected. It could be a system of if you kill X amount of players, you can claim, or destroy land of whoever you killed. It should also have an option of making your own private base where you can store special items, and hide away. Player trading should be done by going into the "freeroam lobby" and talking to players, or by using the marketplace and seeing all the offers of different prices by different players who want to sell their stuff. Skins should be added to a different slot in the drops hit settings, and costs zero CPU/PG. It should cost no skills for certain camo, but costs skills to make custom camouflage that can either be made by using a skill to detect the terrain type, and made into the certain area color made by CCP. This should also be a feature for guns, which can equip the same camo. For knives, it would not include the blade.

LITTLE THING: A little icon next to the health bar of team mates (maybe even only seen by people carrying nanohives) that starts out green, meaning they have full ammo, and slowly crosses into red, meaning they're out. It just makes things simpler when dolling out ammo and your not on a team with mics. Even those with one can forget until they only have half a mag.
2014: I feel like we need something more for high slots. There just isn't enough variety. Maybe it's just me, but the only choices I ever even consider are damage mods or shield extenders. Passive armor/shield hardeners would be pretty boss. Get more mileage out of what you can fit. Actually, maybe the shield hardeners could be low slots so that those that are pro-shield could have that option to buff it up completely. Armor could be highs; really important since right now I kinda just put Damage Modifiers up there since there isn't a whole lot else i'd be interested in. ACTIVE modules would be very nice as well. Powerful with cooldowns. It'd be kinda like micromanaging yourself in a way and it'd keep me awake during some of the...slower games.
FUTURE: Mechs. We need mechs. I'm talkin' a heavy's heavy's heavy. Super expensive, both SP wise and ISK wise, and with a good learning curve to truly excel with them. In fact, we need more robotic warfare. Drones would be very nice. A mini-drone that can follow you around and give you ammunition? A one time drone that would rep your shields/health? It's not like they'd be OP since they'd be pretty obvious and if they had heavy signature then you wouldn't be stealthing it up with one. Maybe even a drone that you could trace a path of engagement for.
For instance, you are taking fire from three guys across a stretch who are up on top of a hill with you on your own. You could duck behind your hill and use the tac-map (which would also require some upgrades so that it was as close to seamless as possible to open and close) to draw a path that flanks those enemies and diverts their attention by attacking from behind, allowing you to move to differing cover; make an escape; or re-engage the enemies with a higher chance of success.
They could even have an entirely separate class for controlling drones and which uses them as a main method of play. I'd be all up for that. Simple sentry bots could be an awesome early detection system. I would really want to see an entire team that had drones send them all in one big herd towards a group of red dots in an Ambush match. It would either be extremely hilarious, useful, or terrifying.
Also, customizable quarters wouldn't hurt. You don't want to know what i'd do to get a window installed in there. It might just show stars or it might show passing ships. Hell; maybe you'd have it in a predetermined spot and it'd show passing ships in EVE and you could read up information on those specific ships. I know I could spend a lot of time doing something like that. Would also be handy for when your squad is fixing themselves for the next deployment, but your already ready to go and are just waiting.

Sorry Castor. Though you gave the bonus ISK, the fact that you didnGÇÖt follow through with the choice of a third place I am suspect about this GÇ£give away.GÇ¥ That and the abject use of a limited scope of consideration in the creation of a dropsuit as to the GÇ£overall effectivenessGÇ¥ of it. This is no to say that I am not thankful for the score and the 9m ISK. I am. The issue I had was with your explanation and then your subsequent inability to answer the most basic questions about third place on the last event while pumping up the two that placed as co-1st place. |

Something in 2014: It'd be great to see some PvE content, even if it isn't fully fleshed out yet.
Future vision: Fully realized content. Basically everything CCP has mentioned so far but has failed to deliver on. All racial variants of all weaponry, dropsuits, and vehicles. Fully functional PvE missions and combat. Bugs and errors reduced to a minimum. Weapon attachments. Crusader and Pilot dropsuits. Large scale battles of 128v128, fighting within EvE ships. Autocannon and Laser turrets. Player market. And everything else that I used to be excited about but have long since forgotten.

A little thing:Newbies must stay in the academy until they have 5 mill sp..Give them a ''SP - RESPEC'' option at 5 Mill so they can better accommodate their (probably) messed up skill trees.
This is much needed. N00bies need to play vs noobies.They need HELP. More time playing vs people of their same level will help them achieve more and do better , there by enjoying more the game. They cannot be going vs 20mill players after a few hours (or an hour) of playing dust. The SP RESPEC option is so when they get to 5 mill SP, they will know if they want to follow their path,if they dont like what they have chosen to change it OR correct mistakes the've done. This would help maintain new players and reduce the number of people like me desiring SP Respecs.
Something you would like to see in 2014: Meh SERIOUS MATCHMAKING.ALL Racial Content and a Racial balance on new content per Update. So we already have A,C,M,Gallente Scouts,heavies,pilots,commandos,assaults and logis? All racial weapons? Well if they are going to create something NEW, like a new Gun,then the update will include ALL 4 RACIAL VARIANTS at once. Walk around our Qurters and being able to socialize and do other activities. Being able to Customize our Characters Face, like in EVE, and any other RPG ....
Your future vision: Land grab Mode. A Corp or Faction going vs another one in order to gain a new planet/district/etc... 96 vs 96 battles with Vehicles, strategic points .... As Soon as The battle is done, the District/planet changes ownerand enters a locked state for a certain amount of time.
Different positions based in SP owned in this Land grab mode:
8 Mill : You can be a Squad leader .Giving orders to your squad, Same Orbital Bombardment option at 2500wp (around 415 wp per player in a 6 player squad)
15 Mill: You can be a Platoon leader (Giving orders to 4 Squads) When the Squads commanded by the Platoon leader reach 13.000k WP The option for Aerial Strike is activated. (Around 540 wp per player , in a 24 man Platoon) ITs like an OB,but lasts longer,in a wider (a lot Wider) Area,and does a LOT more damage. BUT the catch is: This ''A.S.'' takes around a minute to drop. EVERYONE gets the Alert, that an ''AS'' is incoming. And in 1 MINUTE the AS will strike. Now the other Good thing is, unlike the OB, there is no real way of knowing WHERE it will land, and in the case of the platoon leader, no real way if there will be ANYONE in that area when the Strike drops. Making THINKING AHEAD a very important factor. The Platoon leader will be able to Give Defend and Capture orders ONLY on objectives or physical assets,but affect a wider area giving a small bonus that ACCUMULATES with Squad leaders orders.
25Mill+: You can be a Head Strategist ; Giving order to the 4 Platoon leaders. The HS gets the most Powerful tool of all,but in order to use it His Team Must reach a total of 70.000 wp. (Around 700+ WP per player in a 96 player team) EMP Wave:The most Powerful Ability Ever to be created...I ANY GAME. 1st: The Head Strategist Will earn 100% WP , for each Asset Captured/ Destroyed, Same as Objectives Captured and equipment destroyed. 2nd:An ALERT to all Troops is heard and a RED message appears on everyone's screen for a second: (in The case of an enemy): ENEMY EMP WAVE CHARGING. Now you know the sh!tstorm is coming... 3rd: In about 2 minutes the H.S. Will get the option to activate it and let hell loose however he has up to 2 more minutes to use it,or its lost: GÖªALL Enemy Equipment Gets DESTROYED.(HS earns 5WP each! :3). EVERYWHERE. GÖªEnemy equipment will be INSTANTLY destroyed if deployed DURING the EMPW. GÖªAll enemy Radars Get Raised all the way up to 58 Db Scan Precision for the duration of the EMPW. GÖªActive Scanners WONT ACTIVATE at this time GÖªAnd the most important of all,All enemy players will have their mics MUTED for the duration of the EMP Wave.DESTROYING communication and an Organized Response. GÖªThis EMP Wave Lasts 20 seconds .
Now.It seems a little OVERPOWERED , i know. But it would be the FIRST time in ANY game where a Game breaking Power, Achieved by Sheer Teamwork and good game play, will be able to make a team TRULY FEAR the enemy team. Wow? AN OB!? cry me a river. Proto Stompers? Meh. Yeah i die , 1-3 times in a row. whatevs... BUT BRO, an EMP WAVE? a Whole game can be decided on what the Enemy Team does with it . 20 Most important seconds in any FPS!
ALSO, after the EMPW Alert is seen, the Enemy team has 2 Minutes To reinforce their objectives,prepare their lines, etc... A VERY Organized team or a VERY powerful team will be able to survive an ORGANIZED EMP WAVE but the cost will be high.
The Head Strategist can also OPEN the Map.and With the DS3 Analog/ Mouse , they can MARK a PATH for a certain platoon.This would appear on everyone's minimap (in that selected platoon) And if followed will grant an extra 5 percent WP on doing ANYTHING in that path. The HS will not receive any extra WP for doing this.

See here or here. I also took the time to give you personal feedback on your fit. To that criticism you replied basically with a "you don't get it".
You still had one of the best fits in the last contest and earned 9 million ISK with it. I appreciate that you took the time to share your favorite fitting, but I don't appreciate this last post. I have a pretty rough RL atm (just today I had to travel 1000km for 18 hours with the Deutsche Bahn (which is hell)), this is what makes me miss my own deadlines. But I will eventually follow up on everything. I just sometimes need a day or two to find the time to do it right. I'll try to give feedback where I can, but I don't want to get into arguments.
This and the last event are funded by me personally, and I am not a computer. The ratings are therefore definitely not objective, and I hope that not too many people take it personally IF I don't share the same visions and opinions as they do. |

Now: Respec should be implemented in 1.7. It would make the game fresh for everyone still playing, and might bring back some people who already quit. Possibly improving matchmaking a little.
2014: Industry, PVE (for materials) and open player economy, interlinked with EVE. Dust 514 cant be called an MMOFPS without these features. It would also make the game more interesting since you can go do some PVE, trading or industry if you are tired of getting protostomped (for example).
Future: Roaming PVP on planets (Squad Vs Squad). According to me this is why a game called Dark Age of Camelot stood out from other MMORPG games with arenas. Roaming PVP is also a big part of EVE as I have understood. My motivation is that battles become more interesting when they are not set up by the games rules itself, but appears randomly. It would be a true sandbox PVP experience.

We need the option to get a trainingsmode.
Why. Because Dust, just like Eve lives by its community, no matter how hard Ccp tries, their tutorials will only aid till a decent degree. Best training you can get is from mercs who know how this game goes. This is whats happining in EVE, and this should be in Dust aswell. People come to this game from games like bf and cod, so fps-no-brainers. To teach those new guys will kill frustration in the beginning, and ot will help building a more stable playerbase.
Where's the problem? pibmatches are no good spot for trainings, new mercs easily get distracted from the ongoing fight, and pubstomps and facing kick-ass players on the enemy side which might redline you while you try to explain ****, is not not only frustrating to the new mercs, but also to the few who stand up and try to teach.
PC-training on the other hand is quiet expensive and with problems like lag, this is also no valid option, besides that you need to either get a fake corp, or to find a trustable corp, and well, yeah, welcome to new eden ;) besides that pc as trainings base is just not spontaneous enogoigh, you need to prepare 1 day before, and then you have to be there at the set time, hard to archieve with very new players, and I know from experience that in mist of those trainings pc's we have to field better players because the ne guys are not online.
Besides that, no gamemode gives you the option to select a map, which makes map-based training impossible.
So what do we need? We need a gamemode where we can pre-select the maps. All the gear you use in this gamemode should NOT cost you ANY money at all, for its only trainings. This goes for vehicles aswell as for Dropsuits. Therefore it will also nt affect your statistics like KDR. The person who sets up the fight should have an option to lock the fight so nobody else can join it, just a safety option to get rid of trolls.He also should have a director like option to kick players on both team sides. This should be instant battles, no set time, you set it up, you play it.
In general those fight should be locked to only one corporation, which can bring ringers in. Therefore this gamemode would not bypass PC as cheapo-PC.
Benefits
More efficient training viable. With better educated mercs, the battlefield will change, Protostomps won't be that big of a deal if you dont have 16 uneducated mercs on the other side. The playerbase will grow. More varity on the field for mercs get the optio to really specialise and try new stuff out. You will se an increase of vehicles on the field, for people will learn how to use them.
All in all this idea willchange Dust in a good direction with better structured pubmatches aswell as PC will become a real competition again.

little thing... WP for repping vehicle. I repped a tank 13.3k hp and recieved nothing but tap in my back and gg.
2014 TTK must be longer. my unarmed(peagun pew pew) logi (1050hp) lasts only 0.1sek alive if I pop my head out of cover to supply and rep team mates.
in future... landscape changes, trees, water and rain(lag problem?)
