He's the one who came into Dust University for a "peer review" and wrote some pretty nasty stuff about a couple of current members and former members (myself included.) EDIT: In fact, it was me who kicked him, and his alts out of Dust University immediately after seeing his review. The Uni overall is/was (based on current times) a great place to get your feet wet in PC. The only person who I talked negatively about was you. Honestly, don't talk to people in your squad like you're something big because you have a position in a fake game university. You're like Aldan MINUS the skills. and yet another personal attack. its rather unfortunate you only know how to communicate with insults and fabrications. sadly I did not read this article. I wish I had, for the laughs... what I would probably find the funniest is how you must have described what a jerk I was in your squad, since I never squaded with you.... Yea you were also named. And I said you was cool. The only negative things I said about anyone was Truexeroz and that was more for ***** and giggles. I said he needed to work on trash talking skills lol. And I suggested that Reevira not talk like a MOM. The other was Nadeus... (And honestly he was talking to others like that. It was an observation). As for you dude. I said Good stuff (yea I did squad with you and twice in training I believe)...soooooo...... yea. No need to attack me. And overall what I said about the UNI was GOOD.
lol now im just confused....

THe review I wrote said D-Uni was a cool place to be.
I did write negatively on CERTAIN people. You were NOT one of them. OVERALL most the people were COOL including you, prometheus, thaiceman etc.
However SOME individuals, really take the whole "university" thing to their head and kinda ruin the experience for new comers. And one I extensively wrote about was Nadeus.
Clear now?
EDIT: Yea I don't remember if I mentioned you but I know who I wrote negatively about. And one (Truexeroz) wasn't even real negative point it was just a joke. |

yes clear....
what isn't clear is your previous post saying I was an @$$...
try to understand that the few senior staff we have do put a lot of work into this corp plus juggle real lives and they do take it seriously but not to the point of forgetting its a game.
they spend hours putting things together for almost complete strangers in an effort to make their game more enjoyable.
they do this voluntarily, and more than most of the time without acknowledgement.
I define this as passion and I have great respect for them.
you know this whole training corp thing is something we create out of thin air.
theres no game mechanics that support what we do.
it exists only because the people behind the uni made it exsist.
we have a long way to go and much to learn and we struggle through this endeavor in a game that has not yet itself found its footing.
we ask nothing of any player except not to waste our time or bring conflict to our corp.
its very easy to judge other people from the sidelines...

Trust me..I am far from a pacifist. I just don't feed troll posts by trolls, but I will just once here.
Most of the people spewing hate are a joke to everyone but themselves. Char trying to self promote an organization run by a former D-Uni director that had a mental break down before he left. Promising to say the least. Talking about how he couldn't sleep at night because he was afraid I was out to get him and I was making him physically ill. What a joke. I barely even talked to the guy. Don't believe it? I have the e-mails he sent just before he rage quit and started his little vendetta learning coalition. Just another disgruntled ex member trying to ride the coat tails of an organization he wishes he never left.
For the rest of the people out there that may have had a bad experience is because you didn't take the time to ever see what was really there to offer. Or, you didn't take the time to actually talk with people to know what's up. But, I could honestly care less what anyone thinks about the organization I am a part of. Just a drama filled joke with you trolls written all over it.
Most of you who came in the uni and left in a negative state was because you were too lazy to find the opportunities we offer for yourselves. You want people to hold you hand then you came to the wrong place. We are here to help people not baby them. Read the welcome mail, use our forums, contact the people that are here to help. We have Lectures at least 2-3 times a week. Events happen everyday.
Aww you got upset when I yelled at you when you utterly failed in PC match and didn't do what you were supposed to or followed the orders of your squad leaders? Oh, or did I curse too much and it burned your virgin ears? ****ing crybabies. I take this game too seriously? Or is it I am so dumbfounded that some people (Not all) are so brain dead that they can't follow simple instructions or abide by the rules of a specific organization. And you want to join a competitive corp that is focused on team play and following the commands of your squad and team leaders. HAHA.
But it is ok, sit here on your forums and spit your sewage to our community so that any new member who has a brain logs in and see your ignorance and immediately find something else. Self defecating bunch of jerks. You run people off and try to mess with establishments that are in the business of helping the community, then have the gull to complain and say this game is dying. lol.
I could go on and on, but I doubt most of you read this far without responding with some not really that funny, but will be blown up to be troll post.
"You mad bro?" Maybe a little. But, no one cares. So I will go back to my corner of Dust 514 and try my best to help this game grow. With our without the communities' support.
Oh and PS: We didn't fight for those districts. We no showed because we couldn't care less.
PPS: Char, been in IG for a while now, nothing goes on..no activity, no forum activity, Anything of note is a bunch of guides written by one guy who maybe plays 1 or 2 hours a week. And, isn't very good.

I don't I ever called you as @s$....sorry if I did, these forums can get confusing.
As for staff, like I said most the staff was cool dude.
One example I was talking about: I ask to go into ONE game of ambush. Got no reply, I shrugged it off (I really didn't care). Another person in squad said, "Hey some guy (meaning me) just asked for an ambush" The squad leader who is also a staff member (and keep in mind this is a PUB so no need to flip) says, I HEARD IT THE FIRST TIME DUDE... (In a really b**** voice).
That is one example. Me, didn't care. The other guy was really put off but he kept quiet cuz he was new.
Also on another issue sometimes I was shut down with the threat that they were STAFF and I wasn't (even though I was invited to be part of the edu dept). This particular staff took being a staff member as if he was an ACTUALLY dean of a UNI and quoted "Policy". I was like w/e
FOR EXAMPLE
I asked if a PC was meta lvl 2 or an unlimited training. Because I did not want to do meta lvl 2 and if it was unlimited would change my schedule around to participate. I explained to him that I had real life things that I would compromise with before hand if it was an unlimited match. Staff quoted policy - that they cannot announce type of match until it is 1 hr b4 start. I asked if there was somewhere I can address this policy andto whom. I was told all these policies have been discussed.
Now I understand there is an obvious reason to have w/e policy. But I did not want to discuss it with him. I wished to discuss it with people who made such policies. And THEN if they chose to keep the same policy. THen power to them, they obviously know OTHER sides of the administrating business (which I don't). But I just wanted to bring it to their attention (just in case it wasn't). I did not want to ***** about the policy, because, and anyone whose held a job before knows this, administration takes many things into account. But this dude just went on a power trip...sooo...yea...
I decided not to play that match anyways. And someone in SPEC OPS (battuff- cool guy) told me that it was meta lvl 2 privately. |

Again OVERALL the D-uni is a great place and a good place to train. SOME staff let being a "staff" go to their head and I think that is in ALL corps of ALL games. They compensate for short comings in RL. And NO clan/corp/guild can control that in any game if they are really big (in ANY GAME).

You can't remember because you're trying to lie to save your own ass. I know all four people you've called out in your thread, myself being one. We're all grown ups here, and we can all deal with negativity. But what you said in your post about these four members was utterly wrong and pretty offensive. You know nothing about Dust University, you were only in the corporation for little under a week, and your review was nothing more than a half assed attempt at meta-gaming with the only goal to deface members of this community. For what reason? You, for one minute happened to have a bad interaction in a video game? Hilarious, absolutely hilarious.
If you can't handle someone coping an attitude with you - or others - because you or they couldn't follow simple directions in a highly competitive match. Do yourself a favor and stop playing the game, or grow up. Just because you saw a negative side of someone, doesn't instantly mean that they're always like that, nor is it grounds for thinking (and posting on a public forum) that they have a mental illness or are taking real life anger out on a video game.
Oh, and fun little fact, buddy. I deal with criticism on a daily basis, it's part of my hobby. Yours, however, is the type of criticism that's hilarious to read and means nothing because it lacks a constructive edge.

Some of their leadership take this game and their positions way too seriously.
For those of you who want to see how a real training organization is run, check out Learning Coalition chat. It works because it is decentralized and many people from many corps congregate within it to help the newberries. Nobody is in charge and nobody is superior to anyone else when they have something to say.
Also, a lot of the people in our chat are PC vets who know what they're talking about. Realists; not lore-fanbois WHO THINK MN ASSAULT WITH KITKATS IS A GOOD IDEA because it works in eve.
Boy, aren't you a big kid?
Let's spy on a corporation who has all of their information publicly available, who accepts everyone and anyone regardless of their previous affiliations, who gives out information to people willing to work with them for the betterment of the community. You think you're smart and a god at infiltration because you can successfully spy on Dust University. Half, if not all, of your ideas you come up with are simply stolen from D-UNI because you're unoriginal.
I can assure you that no one in Dust University was called an idiot because they acted like, or were actually a new player to the game. If someone was called an idiot, the people involved were more than likely members of D-UNI's Spec Ops program. I don't think I need to explain it to you because you have spies in the corporation.
Furthermore, a leadership that takes itself seriously and has a passion for helping retain players is a leadership that's a force to be reckoned with. These guys don't spend their time in these sections of the forums trolling people because they can. They don't spam pointless threads constantly to get the corporation known. People join D-UNI because they're told to go to the corporation, or they know about Eve University and know that the two corporations are within the same Alliance and focus on similar things between both games.
Of course... I wouldn't expect anything less from a wannabe forum troll who joined D-UNI for two days, claimed he wanted to be a teacher in the corporation, and then left when the Education Director wanted to go through with an interview.
Let's face it, O'Dell, if you really wanted to help the community, and you really cared for the new player experience like the leadership in Dust University does. You wouldn't be wasting your time on the forums trying to gain reputation and fame. Topics like these wouldn't exist from you. All this time and energy you have spent on disrupting Dust University's operations, or spent on trying to ruin it's reputation, is energy you could be spending on coming up with ways to help improve the new player experience, or ways spent communicating with D-UNI on improving the new player experience. 'Cause I can assure you, Brave Newbies and Eve University aren't constantly shooting each other or degrading each other on the forums, and I'm sure as hell both corporations share information between each other to help new players in Eve Online.
Wanna know why Dust University rarely addresses posts like these? It's a waste of time. Each minute spent writing a post to address an unimportant, useless topic, could have been spent writing up new ideas, lectures, and events.
You want nothing more than fame, and in the end, Dust University will live longer than you and your Learning Coalition. Especially if this is the sort of attitude you have towards helping new players. Oh, by the way, enjoy your time in Planetary Conquest while it lasts, 'cause when a new regime comes in, you'll see fire on your doorstep, and you won't be able to do anything about it.

Plus players tend to adopt a 'Forum Warrior' stance in these threads, that 99 times out of 100 is usually completely contrary to how they actually are when you speak to them over Comms..
As to the review that was posted and spoken of here, it was generally favourable to the UNI, that much is true, but there was reference to a member of D-UNI being referenced as to a female dog which I found rather distasteful so I reported the post. As anyone in D-UNI will testify, I have a zero tolerance attitude to harassment of female players in my corp and that extends to the forums as well. Call me old fashioned in that regard if you want but I'm not going to apologise for it.
But threads like this do make me smile if for one reason only. They demonstrate a level of passion for the game, a game that I might remind you, is generally considered as unfinished, lacking in significant features and on the wrong format (get it on PS4 ASAP CCP). It's a passion I share and one that allows me to talk for over an hour in Q&A's and podcasts, even when there's no new content.
It's part of the reason I want to stand for the CPM when the elections come and am prepared for my real name being out there as a result and not hide behind an avatar any more.

Your hobby is taking criticism??
And why would I lie about to "save my ass". What would I need to "save my ass" in a video game for?
All in all D-Uni is a good place.
I criticized and it is your hobby to take it. :) Why not take the criticism and improve since after all you guys are the care bear corp. There is still room for improvement and I am sure at the end of the Day D-uni will become a great corp that will have a dedicated staff that can defend planets and no one will be able to touch it and everyone will respect their territory.

Your post lacked constructive criticism, and was filled with blatant lies and insults towards specific members in the community. Also, my hobby is not taking criticism it's writing, and as such I have to deal with criticism for every story I write. Huge difference. |

I was just trying to be civil towards one another and did not want this thread to explode with fire again.
In hindsight, I did read that review but skipped over the part that got to politics cause (IMO) politics spoil everything.....unless it's something akin to Rob Ford and his little predicament (yes I'm Canadian so I can make those references).
I do not stand for harassment and abuse. If you have ever squadded with me you will know that I don't mind swearing etc. but if someone says they are offended or asks you stop, I will back them up and askthe "violated" to tone it back.
If everyone is happy, than I'm happy.

Unlike DUST University, the Learning Coalition is not a Dictatorship. What one of our members dose on their own time is of no concern to the rest of the council. It does not mean we all approve.
Considering I built DUST University to what it was as of September, I would say that the Learning Coalition reflects my influence rather than being a copy of DUST University.
I am fairly sure that CharCharOdellGÇÖs need to flame predates the formation of the Learning Coalition by a good bit. Working with a Troll is always exciting. |

fox I never had a problem with you, and I'm not going to start a pissing contest with you.
but the fact you are working now with a troll who is trying to destroy what you say you helped build (although most of your work was thrown out for a more stream lined and organized system) doesn't put you in a very good light.
furthermore regardless of the way in which we choose to run the corp if we are helping new players you should be on board with us instead of flaming us... it's shameful coming from a grown up like you.
I always had a lot of respect for you fox, al though you weren't skilled at playing the game you were very knowledgeable of the mechanics and wrote some decent guides, but my real respect for you came from your passion and dedication to helping new players. your actions as of late make me question that respect for you...
as of late you have been extremely petty (probably due to your mental breakdown, which I hope you are recovering from)
But without question if you look at the first post of mr. odell:
"we do that whole meta 2 thing now"
I would call that a copy...
as far as guides go (cause thats really all you did in the ed dept), are you trying to say you invented writing guides?
if so I'm sorry to say, but our sister corp eve university was doing that 10 years ago, though they were not the first to write game guides either.
but you are correct that the learning coalition does reflect your influence.
unfortunately its a negative influence full of spite, flaming, and trolling. you have my sympathy....

D-Uni is a dictatorship. (And they say that upfront.) So it is a good spot to train but many laid back players get frustrated because it is just a game. (And to be fair they say it right there in the welcome msg)

They run things differently then you do - that's fine, that's why others turn to you. But to cause conflict over ideals on how things should get done just takes steps backwards for both groups.
Some people want to feel a part of something while learning for the experience - others want the freedom to just ask for advice. There's nothing wrong with either approach.
