Only played one match, so I haven't seen the match making in full action, but I agree with the general principle that getting the right match, with roughly the same number of players on both teams, in a decent amount of time should take precedence. I can accept some pub stomping on a weekday because the player base is low at that time. Peak times are when I would expect the match making to shine.
For the record CCP, I don't mind waiting a bit longer for a match (say 2-4 minutes instead of 1-2), but please make sure the team is full, and I get to choose the match type. Given these parameters, if you can match me with someone of *somewhat* equal skill, that's awesome. (With that said, I am not too worried about the year long pubstompers having to wait 5-10 minutes to play against other pub-stompers: it will be justice for being the number 1 reason why the player base is not growing with enough new players. :) ). What would be great is a real time indication of the current popularity of one match over another. If I knew that playing domination instead of skirmish will increase my chance of being in a balanced match, I may decide to change my filter.
To some of the comments in this thread and others like it today (rather than the specific post quoted above), people need to chill a bit. The feedback is needed so CCP can fix the match making system so keep giving your feedback, but screeching about the death of the game (for the billionth time in the last year) only serves to blow some steam off while annoying the crap out of the rest of us. Going for a run, or having a beer would do a much better job of taking the edge off the roughness of this patch than Book of Revelations prophecies of the game's impending doom or Hip Hop artist like proclamations of you leaving the game (FYI: we don't care that the latest Hip Hop super star is going to stop rapping because of the sorry state of hip hop, so we definitely don't care that you are leaving dust.).

Market no longer shows skill requirements why did you remove this? Makes it much easier to buy something that you dont have skills for now. My first impression I get for dropships is that the default view as it makes seeing obstructions harder as well as there not being enough visual feedback to actually know where you are.
Shotgun hit detection is broken even more.
The updated active scanner results are pretty good(pulsating on reds is good). A big improvement over 1.3. I'm a bit disappointed that there are no WP for using the scanner though.
Passive scanning doesn't seem to be working unless you're aiming at someone(in 1.3 I was able to detect reds passively if they were beside/behind me). |

I think the laser rifle's pretty decent I fried several people one ambush however when I tried to reproduce this to make sure it wasn't one lucky game I wound up in matches with 0-3 people who are usually sniping and don't kill many people if any at all |

Main issues, Match-Making.
Separate the Newbies, from the Veterans. I'm sure it annoys the Vets to have a Random Newbie effect their team. And I KNOW that it annoys me to be forced to play against gear I can't possibly even match. |

Drop ship camera angle - completely garbage - I wouldn't feel I had the right to post about this matter except I fly 1-3 drop ships every match with about 23k kills. They're more of a point A-B kinda thing for me but with this new angle it removes all reliable handling feels more like a bumper boat. Guess we're still beta testing and paying to do so. |

Heavys are now the only thing worth anything now is a heavy because they are now indestructible proto snipers can't touch them in any way turrets tickle them they can walk over grenades and take 10 shotgun hits and shrug it off . - The new welcome screen looks awesome, but i found it to be unresponsive and laggy as hell.
- I couldnt figure out how to leave the looking for match screen without cancelling the search for a match. Normally I would walk around or check my gear after selecting a match. This also inhibits P2T AFAIK.
- Team selection matchmaking was brutal in the match I played. 2 full premades +2 vs.. 8 guys? Guess who won. Maybe this was just random, I know it happened before.. but in the very first match?
- Swarm launchers are JUST AS BROKEN AS EVERYONE SAID THEY WOULD BE. I capitalized this for emphasis. We warned you about it.

I actually like queing for all game modes at the same time. Matches are starting fast at around a minute (queing solo as usual). Have not seen a stacked super squad yet so maybe something there is working. all matches have had unbalanced team numbers.
Loving the star system display while searching for a game. I think it will help show people you are fighting in new eden.
Laser sight is much more useful, and my viziam with a couple damage mods is melting much better now. feels good. There is some obvious latency happening here, Im letting go of the trigger before the over heat, pulling back into cover to reload, then BAM over heat in my face. The actual heat build up and the meter are out of sync, or something is glitched with the viziam. or lag is lag.
im used to not being in a squad and not sharing tacnet, so it feels more even now. But like i said, I have yet to go against a super proto squad yet. I have skills in damping and range, those feel like they were worth the investment. and have been using scanner for a while, the highlighting effect is a nice touch. passive scanning is working for me, but i have skills in it and also using the mods. This will have a large effect on the battle field, will take a while before get into a groove again.
I cant say for sure, but it seems as Armor plates are no longer affecting turn speed, +1 for having some consistency aiming between my fits. DS3 feels a bit more snappy.
I also have not seen a Remote explosive fissile out yet when deployed. I will keep my eye on it.
New maps are pretty sweet. Yet, some areas are kind of borked. Underneath the bridge in an OMS. I had to run for 1000m just to get out of that canyon because the redline was on the nearest road out. Also fell through a crack on domination slid down the cliff... once again had to run 3 miles to get my self out of there, almost just wanted to commit suicide and re spawn. They are pretty fun to play on otherwise.

About the new mouse handling: Generally feels much better now without the turning restrictions and negative acceleration we had in ADS before. Good job on that!
HOWEVER: Why in the world did you make ADS aiming faster than aiming during hip fire!? I sure hope you just mixed something up, because it doesn't make any sense what so ever to have even faster aim when you zoom in and try to hit something far away.
Before 1.4, I couldn't track a moving target in ADS because my aim was slowed to a crawl. Now, I can't track a moving target in ADS because my aim is suddenly all over the place! To be honest, the ADS to hipfire discrepancy now feels even worse than before. In order to have decent aiming in ADS, my general turning speed is so slow I feel like I'm wading through a swamp all the time.
To sum it up, new mouse handling is one step forward and two steps back, controls feel more awkward than before for me. Please swap the ADS and hipfire aiming speeds, I think that's all that is needed. |

Perhaps not enough of a statistical basis, but I've gotten into 10 out of 10 games in less than 20 seconds each, even if the match maker estimated something like 40 seconds most of the time.
However many of the resulting games were horrible. A skirmish just ended with 7 v 10 people in it. It was practically a stealth game. |

Matchmaking needs work, but large corps that are used to proto pub stomping will never like matchmaking because they might have to play other proto pub stomping corps and actually die and lose money. I was naieve about this mentality until 2 days ago, I was playing pub ambush against 13ear and some other tp guys and I was running a adv scout with pistols and of course 13ear was running proto call logi with a d ar, so naturally I pistoled him once or twice 2 eat into those shields then cooked a frag and owned him, no pickup from that, well he came at me again and I did the same thing, after that game the child 13ear sent me hate mail calling me names being disrespectful because he died, lol, you know holding up these great eon and teamplayer traditions. And until that moment I had a lot of respect for him and his team, but I couldnt understand why he was so mad, after talking to people I figured it out though, they will never want a system that makes pubstomping harder, period. Btw, next game played them again, frag pistoled the scrub again... pffffff get good |

Mouse user here: -The ratio between ads and hip is off. If hip is ok ads way to high. If ads good hip way to low. -Their is still a very noticeable input lag. I.e. I move mouse stop half second later crosshair moves than stop. It is a very small delay but more than enough to throw aim and miss all shots. -As a mouse user my avg time to kill enemy has increased, but my time to die has decreased -The squad seems to be getting separated trying to join match. Someone is left out much of the time. |

Overall I like the update but there's some things wrong with it:
- Can't choose your game mode for pubs (I hate public skirmish).
- Takes a long time to get into a pub game.
- KB/M aiming is "different" but I don't know if it's good or bad because I am still playing with my settings.
- Aim Assist seems too strong.
That's all just after spending an hour trying out the new build. Was only able to play 3 or 4 games and I just gave up. The rest of the build is great just so far those 4 things are really making it hard to enjoy.

1 positive - the new map f**king rocks!!! Especially on Ambush! Props for that at least. The new 'recent updates' screen is nice too,a long with the daily login bonus. |

just spent the better part of an hour to get into a match with a full squad and it went a bit like this: 1. squad leader selects a match 2. not all squad members get in 3. back out 4. reform squad 5. not everyone can join because someone is still in battle (while everyone backed out) 6. select different squad leader 7. goto step 1 |

LOVE IT! Most of them proto stompers got no skill and rely on being better equipped with more SP than the average guy. |

Yeah, even removing everyone from squad and reforming didn't even solve it for me. Everyone had to reload DUST |

I like basically everything.
The new maps and outposts are awesome and provide much needed diversity.
The hit detection is good with one exception...there are some people who get to about 5% armor and suddenly stop taking any damage at all. It's not like I'm missing because I take them down from full health easily enough, they just don't take any more damage...and it's always at that ~5%.
The new aim assist is good. It might be a bit too strong and help tactical/single-shot variants of weapons a little too much...we'll have to wait and see.
Also I haven't been killed by a LAV yet so that's nice...
The matchmaking is the only broken part, which is significant, but it's clearly not working as intended so it'll get fixed (probably pretty soon), so it's hard to hold that against you guys.
The new complex is enormous and playing several matches today, my corpmates and I had the reinforced belief that the game really needs 24v24 for maps this size.
