Yep, 24v24 is needed and is the stated game size on the info for the game. This is the intended "minimum" size so it's about time we got it. Then onto 32v32! |

I'm just going to ask that in 1.5, with the vehicle overhaul, can we please have a tank control scheme that lets us control acceleration with R2/L2, like the one for LAVs? Because I like that scheme better, but I can't use it on my tanks. |

The update is great.
No more LAVs The new map is awesome Graphics Add of the neocom
Yes, the matchmaking is awful and Scotty is a joke, but i know you will fix it soon.
But the real issue is the aim assist. Why so much ? You don't have to aim by yourself just hit R1 and get 50 points.
Moving is now useless because of the aim assist always tracking you. Even if the player don't move the joystick. No more skill is needed in DUST. Just have more HPs, shoot first and you win.
Movement is improved in 1.4 but now it's useless to move.
So please remove this aim assist. I prefere being killed by M/Kb rather than aim assist. |

**Dropship** - less visibility, so we cant tell if that was a forge or rail - swarms have no range cap, so zooming away from them is a thing of the past - double swarm volley rate, not going on any more about that + aiming reticule is smoother, more accurate + render rate is as at a point where i can make a spiraling dive without being on the ground suddenly halfway through - precision flying cannot be done without being able to see what you're about hit behind you, be it another ship or building - was dropped 35' by initial RDV, took all shields and 15% armor - bad collision in new maps, tight areas get smacked by invisible poles and invisible floorboards - render distance is still bad, if thats an installation i need to know so i can stay away not get myself in range to find out thats a AI crack shot cannon peekin up my skirt - armor ship gunners cant aim certain spots still |

CCP already knows about the Shotgun and Matchmaking issues, so I'm not worried about those.
I love the aim assist, it has greatly improved the game for me! I finally feel dangerous to the enemy team, something I haven't felt in DUST for over six months.
The new map was awesome, the look and feel of it was cool and I enjoyed running around and exploring the map.
All of the UI improvements and little things, like the welcome screen, are awesome. One of my favorite is the starmap zooming in for the games I queue for.
All in all a great update CCP! |

CCP Logibro wrote:Hey guys
Please post your general feedback for Uprising 1.4 in this thread
I only got to play 4 or 5 matches with the broken matchmaking and battle launcher but so far I'd say it's a definite improvement and I'm not sure if it's the auto-aim or the newly improved lag-reduction (as I tried it with and without auto aim and it felt the same) but my bullets seem to be hitting now and regularly. The downside to this is I now need to change my play-style as I'm also getting killed much quicker (even with the armour buff!).
The game looks and sounds beautiful all-around and I got killed more than once whilst staring up and appreciating the sunset shining through the buildings, every single aspect of the game feels and looks aesthetically much nicer, both graphics and audio. The lighting effects in particular are really pleasing and the skyboxes were very nice, I killed clones under the aurora borealis and it was a treat!
The new maps are very nicely made and I didn't once play, in any of the 5 games, a map that I've played previously!
In general the game felt smoother, my Amarr Logi still can't run up hills but wasn't getting his "skirt" caught on nearly as many map assets and objects as was the case prior to 1.4.
Can't wait for the matchmaking fix and to get some more time to test out the "new stuff"!!
On a related note, anyone want to buy 59 Exo mass drivers, one careful owner, most of them have never fired a shot! Goooooing cheap!

I know what I select doesn't = the game mode I get (working as intended) but to keep putting me in a game mode I don't want to play AND having only 3 people on my team against 10-16 on the other team?!

The dropship camera rides too close to the ship and is really touchy. I suspect the latter stems from the fact that the camera has more swing, from full over to full under the ship. I'm not sure why we would need to look straight up at the bottom of the ship.
The new camera significantly reduces the pilot's situational awareness making it difficult to fly and nearly impossible to see and avoid AV.
Wolfman, please prioritize situational awareness when you work on the dropship camera. Student pilots are trained to put their head on a swivel and be aware of everything around them. I feel claustrophobic while flying and that's the opposite of what should happen in the sky!
The new aim-bot has significantly reduced my time-to-die. The AR advocates who used to claim that the AR is a skill weapon while the MD is not will have to own up to this. The AR is now a noob weapon and so far exceeds the MD in DPS that it is no contest. I'm going to have to switch to the AR myself to compete. The HMG seems to have gotten a similar buff as my strafing/running didn't have any effect today.
Matchmaking. Yeah, it's totally borked. Several matches of 16 vs. 0, and once my squad got dumped into a lost domination. We came 2nd-5th, but there was no way we could turn it around in time.
On the other hand, the startup screen is nice and the "last match" screen let's me check my bonus SP pool without having to run another match. The new maps are cool. |

fine movements inside or around structures? HAH. Like to back up sometimes to get an aim at something? NOPE, but you're butt might like hitting that tower you can't see.

alrighty then. lets get the obvious out of the way.
match making is currently about as fun as being forced to tell your paraplegic daughter that her dreams of becoming a ballerina are over. you obviously know this and are working on it. im still not that excited about it anyways, since it seems that even when working correctly it might sometimes force me to play game types i dont want to. not cool.
aim assist. why? anyone that has put time and effort into this game to get decent at it, you have completely negated it all. theres no point in moving now, bullets will bend towards someone if they do. CCP, you can no longer call this game "competitive". not cool.
the shotgun is... well i would do more damage if i just ran up and started dry humping the guy.
all that being said, i love love LOVE the new shield sound. the grunting sound im a little iffy on, but ill allow it for now since i have a hard on for that shield shattering sound effect. i havent been hit by an LAV yet so i cant comment on the new damage figures, but not being run over in a few matches is glorious by itself. i thought i would hate the HMG skill switch, but im pleasantly pleased with it. overall aim speed and especially ADS speed i consider fantastic. mouse movement seems more smooth and fluid like. graphics look improved, no FPS issues, no lag issues. the new map terrain and outposts looked awesome from what ive seen. i like the recent updates screen, it has everything i care about in 1 convenient place.
i guess thats all i got for now. i hope with these hotfixes youll be bringing out soon, that youve taken into consideration what everyone has been saying. you can recover from this, i have faith in you. just dont expect a parade in your honor when you do. |

So, I won't go over the problems, there's plenty of those comments everywhere on the forums. Instead, I just want to say that I love the new maps for the most part, kinda lost on them, but such is the case with anything new. Shield sound is cool. The graphics for gunfire is a nice effect as well. Saw a mass driver round fly and the lighting effect followed on the ground. Ok, so I lied, I do want to mention the battle finder. Idc if I have half as many people on my team if the skill is even, just let me get the match type I select, no matter the wait time. |

CCP should make a useful First Person View for the dropship. Think of the bubble canopy of a light helicopter where you have an almost unlimited view. This could be a helmet projection from hull mounted cameras so they wouldn't have to change the art assets at all. Situational awareness is so important to a dropship that this would be the first order of business for any dropship designer no matter the race.
You could have a static 180 degree view, but I've got one better. Let dropship pilots add a cheap set of USB rudder pedals for yaw control (just like in every real aircraft) and the Right stick is now available for a full "look stick". Pilots can scan the sky, and the good ones will know what's going on around them.
I know you can't make them mandatory, but all deducted pilots would love you if you made it a control option. You already support unconventional (for the console) controls, so there's no reason not to.
These changes would make dropship truly unique and fun to fly |

Me gusto!!!
Ok first, seeing the light flicker in the hallway due to my AR spitting rounds were great. It accentuated the intensity and of course reality of of a gunfight. I also thought it was cool that the light beams reached the floor from street lamps. It's the little things that count.
The update screen or the welcome screen if you will is great. I like seeing a quick overview of matters such as money, bonus SP received, and mail count. It gives the merc a more "dedicated" feel to the experience. Welcome status screens are the norm these days in alot of what we use and having it in Dust feels right.
I like the audible notification that you're getting hit (glass breaking sound) and then I don't. I like it because the cue to move your metal butt away from gunfire is more pronounced this way instead of realizing late that you were getting hit. The build before allowed some "silent" hits to get through. In this feriocious battleground, that matters. The grunts I didn't like. In the idea of the lore with immortal soldiers, I always imagine them as ghosts of their former selves so pain wouldn't quit register with them. They are trained to fight in harsh conditions and carry weapons that could damage a regular person without a dropsuit. So the grunting seems odd.
The battle finder screen is just a lil lackluster. The picure of a hand writing on the contract doesn't feel right with a futuristic setting. I do like how it searchs throughout the star cluster and finally zooms in on a planet to give you a better sense of the universe you fight in.
Can we do away with the Irish Spring soap green color used? I like the darker tones for a dark world.
I'm loving the new maps!!
The clarity of the shield/armor status bars above the enemy looks nicer and easily viewed.
Did you put a little touch to the graphics? It looks prettier.
All in all, a real nice update that got a chock full of good stuff in it. Seeing the last battle report to the small touch added to the graph screen of the SP gained and Kdr (the spark) is nice. I am enjoying 1.4 CCP. We are going in the right direction. Thanks alot! |

The problem is:
Shield recharge are way faster than armor repair. and you don't need to skill into shield recharge.
Iiiiif, you want to repair yourself faster, you have two options:
// Logibro on your side with proto repair tool;
//Sacrifice you armor tanking to put 3, maybe 4 complex repair (if you can). Even if you do that, with the new "Babysitter" "let-me-aim-for-you" aim assist, a newbie can take you down easily.
Soooooo, after all, CCP fckd their game again by simply introducing this aim assist. I trained the strafe so much and now my skills are useless. The worst part, i am suffering with hit delay, shootinh ppl but can't take them down. |

The worst part of all this....
I love this game. But every update now is a mess after another. The Corporation concept, the MMO FPS concept, Lore, Maps, Fitting Customization, all of this made me realize how much repetitive the other FPS like CoD or BF are now, just a bunch of Cash maker. But at least they don't screw up with basic things like aim. Every battle i had today made me rage, wanting to throw my controller on the screen and my ps3 on the floor. I lost nearly 3 mil being killed on my proto fit by "babysitter aimbots".
Nice try CCP, really, but here is an advice: TEST YOUR **** FIRST.... Then you can release to the public. |

Pros
- Magnificent job with gun flare. Makes My plasma cannon beautiful and deadly although assault rifles have a strobe effect that could cause seizures; i seriously urge CCP to add an option to turn this off. Games can already case seizures but certain effect make it more likely. I used to have a friend that had seizures and whenever he saw lots of flashing lights for a long period of time it would incite a seizure. Search for photosensitive epilepsy.
- New maps are very nice; although that new map feel made me kind of disoriented. I had kind of gotten used to the idea of knowing where to go and what to do. This created a challenge I hadn't had in months.
- Matchmaking: while broken at the moment I feel it will make a big difference. I see a lot of people getting ino half empty matches where one team has more people than the other; it could be that a bug is accidentally handicapping the stronger side to make the match statistically even.
- Murder taxi fix; just seeing poeple not use them as much is a good sign. Don't get me wrong I've gotten one or two kills where I thought I should have been going a bit faster but I hope that can be tweaked so that more speed is needed because I can still kill someone going less than my full speed.
- Armor balance: The overall effect of the armor balance was to make armor tanking more viable. The speed penalty reduction greatly helped raaces sch as the gallente that are armor heavy and who had to only use adv plates because complex took too much of a toll on movement speed.
- LAZORZ: It was very nice to see this weapon being used again. The iron sight could have been the whole problem when it was nerfed but for all intents and purposes it looks like it might make a comeback.
- New screen: The screen that shows your current stats and all is a very nice addition; it's too bad it doesn't include how much bonus SP you have left for the week. I see a lot of potential here and I hope you guys deliver.
- Turning off shared view: While we where initially running like chickens with our heads chopped off I got used to this idea fairly quick. It makes for a more strategic game and it doesn't feel like a run and gun anymore but ore of a tactical game. Many people may have different thought But I overall like it. Consequently this also fixed the Uplink spam necessity problem. Now well played drop uplinks should remain unnoticed unless scanned by the enemy. It definately made uplink hunting more fun when playing domination.
- RDV destination: showing where the RDV will drop your vehicle is godsend. Knowing where not to stand while in your expensive gear is a plus because it eliminates death by RDV almost completely.
So and So
- Dropship camera angle: I would have liked for CCP to have taken "If it's not broken don't fix it" phrase to heart on this one. There was nothing bad with it but now it's just odd. Not being able to see the surroundings of the dropship at some points of flight makes it difficult and more dangerous than ever to fly. While this camera angle did help assault dropships a bit; or so I've been told; the overall effect that other dropship classes are affected negatively. While not a gamebreaking thing it should strongly looked at and taken as an example of what not to do next patch.
- Strafing Fix: while the need to fix strafing speeds was necessary because it was a bug, scout suits have been negatively affected. Their style of suit should not have any speed reduction while strafing since they are, for all intents and purposes meant to be speedy and agile. I suggest lifting strafing speed reduction to scout suits as part of their balance since in all honesty, being fast and able to strafe and bunny hope should be a form of defense no matter how much people hate when they do it.
Cons
- Aim assist: Before I share my experience with aim assist I would like to clarify two details. The first is that I mostly use plasma cannons and the second is that I use mouse and keyboard. So i tested this mechanic by putting aside my KB&M and plasma cannon and picking up my controller and Assault rifle.
For all intents and purposes aim assist is the new FOTM. Even without ever having experience with the DS3 I was able to reduce my enemies to a bloody pulp with aim assist. I seriously just had to aim in the general direction and the hits would register. Aim assist is something you give to people in battle academy to get them used to the controls and ween them off it once they join real battles. Aim assist took most if not all the skill out of the game and would almost be game breaking if it where not for the fact that it only helps people without any skill. Skilled players will reap little if no benefit from this apart from making their off days incredibly good ones and their good days into godly ones.
- Shotgun: Someone Broke it and it needs to get fixed. Nuff said. It was a simple mistake on the deves part I'm sure someone just altered something by mistake. I hope the community doesn't rage too much; I know I was surprised when I got a headshot when I was aiming for the feet ^^.
BIGGEST PROBLEM: The biggest problem of all in this patch as with other are the ninja changes. There have been patches, like this one, where things have been changed and the community only learned of the change when they saw it in action. While CCP maintains their rights to do so I strongly urge them to discuss these changes with the CPM at least.
Conclusion:
Although coming out glitched to hell, containing a supercharged almost gamebreaking aim assist system and having matchmaking broken for the moment; uprising 1.4 is truly a good update. While we might have finished the day on a sour note I have high hopes for this patch once all the kinks are ironed out and aim assist becomes only available in the war academy or is reduced |

7/10. Probably 8/10 once the bugs are fixed. I will comment on that which applies to my play style and fittings.
Pros: - UI is awesome. Really sleek and informative, especially being able to see how much bonus SP remains without finishing another match.
- Never thought I'd say this but the loss of team/squad vision is a pro for me. The active scanner is now my most useful peace of equipment where before I considered it wasted SP. I think this forces players to be team players and sometimes I think the game needs that.
- Aim assist. I don't really understand why people are angry about this unless it only applies to certain weapons. If that is the case and I haven't noticed then I will move this to the cons. It makes people who don't need it hit more shots and it makes people who do need it to hit more shots and as far as I'm concerned it cancels out unfair advantage.
- Murder Taxis. Haha I can only laugh at most LAVs that I see now. This possibly saved the game for me. I can deal with tanks running a game but not a logi jeep. Couldn't stand knowing that a large number of players dedicate their time trolling infantry because they get SP for it. Thank you CCP.
- Armor buff was nice. I do agree that the armor repair modules should be buffed to keep up, but if they don't make it then that's not a problem. I'm sure we all noticed that shield tanks greatly outnumber the armor tanks. Recently I've seen an increase in armor/hybrid tanks and it's encouraging to new players. My beginning experience was thinking that Caldari was "the best" since those were the only suits I would see on the field killing me. New players are now hopefully going to be encouraged to try other racial suits.
- Laser rifles. I loved the idea of the laser rifle when I saw youtube videos from pre-uprising games but was disappointed that they had iron sights and poor damage. I specced into them anyway and toughed it out until they became usable again but the red dot sight makes this another valid weapon to choose from.
- New maps. Awesome and overdue. Hats off to CCP for the variations.
Cons: - Matchmaking. I like all game types but I still prefer the idea of a filter rather than a voting system. I know everyone is complaining about this but on the upside I've only been pubstomped once. I really think that this is better than getting destroyed. I put this in the cons until the bugs are worked out such as empty teams or squadmates getting booted.
- Health bar over teammates. I play medic a lot and I know people have mentioned it but it's extremely hard to make split decisions about who to heal when you can't see the health bars above individuals in a group. A possible fix could be an icon appearing when their armor is depleted past a point?
Considering these are the only comments I have so far, I'd say CCP did a fine job with the 1.4. I look forward to seeing how 1.5 changes vehicles. Anyone feel free to critique or correct any of my comments. Trying to keep this thread as constructive as possible.

well, to end this day, i can tell that the ony two problems are the matchmaking and the aim assist.
I'm really like the fact that without the enemy icons on the map and the chevrons, we have to improve our team play and comms. For that CCP, i have to thank you.
If CCP fix the aimand matchmaking issues, Dust can be awesome.
And that is all for today.
