Our dropsuit warns us when we've been scanned or prevented one (complex damps ftw), which means our dropsuit detected the scan, shouldn't it also be able to give us a general direction the scan came from like how hit the hit direction markers work...

I understand your point because the current 15% damage increase for proficiency 5 will remain for armor but it will be less because SMGs are getting an 8.7% damage reduction except the breach which is getting an 8.5% reduction.
