I do think that moving affects the scan (blips stay less long, it seems), but the word is still out on that from the devs. I guess CCP is now gathering data and they might modify the use of active scanning later.

Perhaps a battle shouldn't be counted if mercs don't spawn in. So that if you ae placed in a battle that's nearly over, with your team redlined, you don't have to participate. It really screws up this event, unless you're fighting for Amarr.

If snipers would ever get a mysterious big red arrow hovering over their head, all non-snipers should carry a big ass magnet on their suit, so sniper bullets will hit them automatically. Fair is fair!
