The forge gun already got nerfed. Only reason it's prolific as an infantry weapon is because everyone is using crap suits. Get 550 ehp and suddenly the splash damage isn't so bad at all. The range decrease is just stupid IMHO. Forge guns are one ...

Anyone can pop out a Dropship for 150k ISK. Flying them is practise. In bf3 my buddy used to join empty games to practise. Once you have a corp which can fight itself for practise you'll have plenty of time to get to grips with it.

Salvage seems almost random. Only thing I know is it never give you anything you already have skills for. Oh except stupid breach assault rifles. KDR is now 2.7 so not too shabby, I do put quite a few hours in too. But like I say, it seems random.
