The best protection against spawn camping would be to have randomised area spawns, which are already coming. Making people invulnerable is a cheat. Adding super defenses would be exploited.

It's input lag, which is worse than real lag, and it happens for melee pretty badly as well - a major reason I've stopped even TRYING to melee any more, as have almost everyone else, as far as I can tell.
