Signature profile ONLY applies to the ability of enemies to spot you on the map. It does NOT decrease your hitbox, and I'm pretty sure it has zero effect on aoe weapons (but I suppose you could ask on IRC about it).

Honestly, LAVs need to be enclosed. It puts a hard cap on their functionality when no matter how much money you spend on it to increase your defences, you can simply be shot or blown up out of your intact vehicle.
