I think its a bit short sighted to expect we're never gonna have another one.

A respec for 1.3? I don't think anyone was/is expecting that.

But I can gaurantee that by 1.7 the dropsuits will be completely different from what we have now... a respec will be necessary at some point... as you just can't make informed and reasonable decisions atm with all of the changes going on right now.

1.4 / 1.5 may be bringing in some massive changes, so if ever there was going to be a time for a respec, it could very well be then.

DPS is a garbage statistic right up there with KDR. Especially when you factor in that AIMING IS NOT 100%. There are multiple factors that could result in shots missing, sorry you could survive a TAC user in the open if you knew what you were doing but a PRO blaster turret will shred you especially the scatter blasters.

TTK is a better utility of a weapons effectiveness. Moreover the comparison between the PRO Blasters and the TAR was one of the most laughable comparison id seen in gaming. Honestly the spreadsheet crowd are the biggest distraction when it comes to weapon balancing, its almost as bad as that guy who runs around using the number of AR kills he see in the killfeed as the significant data point that ARs are OP based on their utility.

Players will be given a limited period in which to choose the optional full character reset, and the dates for choosing this option will be announced at a later time. This will be the last reset of the Mercenary Pack and Aurum packs, and no further resets will be available.

They have only said they won't rule it out but no more resets.

sp refunds for say, 3 new racial heavy suits coming out will most likely still happen. Even eve has refunded sp, rarely but it happens

Do you have at least 100,000 working brain cells? Are you serious? How could you even insinuate that that was what I was getting at? How could you possibly arrive at that conclusion?

A small part of me wants to give those FOTM players a refund so they all gravitate towards the next OP weapon and make CCP's job easier in balancing. Unfortunately since it takes a month for CCP to do anything, it'll be an infestation before something is done.

Incorrect!!!!! I am a Pilot & the Pilot Dropsuit is what I need. Also the Amaar Tank (I assume Rail Enforcer) is my Intended Path. We have NEITHER & I am stuck in a Gallente HAV w/ a Minnie Suit in the meantime. No Cal Log, no TAC AR, no Gheylock.....& all the Fatties are lookin' @ you Cross-Eyed. Try again :P

No, that is not the only reason why people want respecs or at least specific tree respecs. I don't want a respec any time soon nor may I need one. But the way Dust is being developed its basically a game that was taken out of Beta WAY TOO EARLY. I mean heavies only have 1 race of suits to spec in at the moment, Scouts are limited to 2 races, many skill bonuses are just placeholders for the actual skills they plan to use, other weapons in some categories are placeholders for upcoming weapons.

I don't ask for a respec to because of balance changes I see that they are needed cause of the fact CCP is lacking in content for a supposedly "launched" game when many many things are missing or just placeholders. So I see partial respecs in skill trees where the particular gear and skills were overhauled and when everyone can at least spec into 1 of the 4 races in each category; Light, Medium, Heavy. Think respecs like these would actually encourage people to play into the new roles when they come out instead of focusing on the currently accessible role till its finished.

So no I'm not a child. Its the fact that CCP has too many things missing in this hollow shooter and still has many fixes. This thing should have stayed in Beta till they at least got all the basic race suits in the game.

I've come to the conclusion you don't even play Dust. Cause if you did you'd understand that a player cannot complete with Militia gear and core upgrades against other players with PRO gear. So while CCP doesn't force anyone to spend their SP, wanting to play Dust with reasonable (READ not die to being sneezed at) results does.

Funny you should say this, because the AR is, by far, the most overused weapon in Dust. In fact, in pubs, the game most of us play, the AR accounts for as many kills as 10 out of 12 light/sidearm weapons combined.

You're getting it all for free. 99% of other Devs charge you for more content. Would you prefer CCP move to a paid-for scheme, instead of giving it to you for free? Why must they rush? If you think rushing is the way to go, you obviously haven't been gaming for very long at all, because the amount of incomplete rushed games cannot be counted. Everything from minor glitches to game-breaking bugs sometimes never get worked on, because they choose instead to work on additional content. Do you want CCP to go down that road?

Well lets see...its the fact that many other games have been released with A LOT more polish. Also really? Cause until 1.4 they've mostly just been adding new content before even working on aiming except when in April it was absolutely horrid.. Also they want this game to shine and succeed but that isn't going to work when your players just get annoyed by the lack of respecs when the game has MANY MANY things missing or just placeholders.

Honestly, even though I can understand why we would most likely not get a respec, it would be kinda disappointing. With one of the devs talking about the possibility of removing the turn-speed limitation on different size dropsuits and the strafing increase across the board, I probably would have majorly considered dumping my SP into something other than scouts. It feels like I'm slowly losing the small pros that I had, while simultaneously gaining nothing in return and keeping all the cons.

If they fix my suit, great, I'll be happy and not even care about the respec argument. But until they do, I'm all in favor of a respec so I can get into something that's not utterly useless and maybe actually be useful/have fun on the battlefield.

Respec so I can try new things.

but no... everyone wants you to wait, farm SP for 3-4 months and change you're specialization that way. You made a mistake specing into scouts, now you should live with the consequences of that decision.

I don't see the problem with it. Why do you see a problem with it?

How about for one because some play the game for more than just the grind. If I wanted to play Farmville, I'd play it. How about because many people, most of whom are against respec, talk about how the skill tree is designed make players live with their choices and make informed choices knowing their choices have lasting ramifications, for another.

If you can't understand something because I missed an 's' to make respec plural, or because I forgot to put 'to' inbetween 'designed' and 'make' the issue lies a lot more with you then with me for making minor errors.

It's because the reply doesn't agree or disagree with my first post, only goes to state something that we've figured out over a short amount of time, ie. the skill tree is designed for the long haul, what with not being able to respec our points after certain conditions are met. Believe me, it has nothing to do with my reading comprehension. I was reading mature adult books in junior high. My reading comprehension was 8th grade level when I was in 5th grade.
