dust isn't going to become good overnight. no one patch will repair every problem with the game. there will be lots of small patches that fix specific things and add a couple things at a time. in TOTAL dust will become good, but that's probably not going to really become apparent until early next year, maybe summer or so?
don't expect miracles on a monthly basis.
but the game will, eventually, get good. just how eve did (or is still doing, if you're that kind of person) |

Dont expect this game to have any real sort of player base if it takes until next year to get this game halfway decent
Yeah yeah "EVE took a long time to get where it is now" EVE was also essentially alone in the sci fi spaceship based MMORPG area, Dust has a lot of competition and has spent years in development and a good year actually having people play it and provide their feedback but somehow in one feel swoop they were able to undo all the good of chromosome and give us this broken build |

Same old song and dance. "things will get better" guess what its been a year and they havent, and they have said it will get better from the beginning. When i see actual improvement i will come back. I actually play waaayyy less than when it had basic stability issues like hard locks and such because at least the first beta build was fun and unique. Now its watered down crap that gives me the same enthusiasm level for playing as the foreknowledge of a particularly painful gastrointestinal movement... |

Again next year is far to late, just look at falls upcoming competition, then consider what next years competition will be like, then realize that be the time Dust gets around to advertising those are completely polished games that had the same amount of development time or even less will have their own dedicated player bases running on next gen systems while this game slowly putters along

By that point people will have 30-40 million skill points & it will be even worse on new players
CCP might as well save the money and spend it on trying to actually make the game ''good'' |

Ah yes the Dust experience With its hit detection and aiming issues, terrible balance, missing the core suits to all races, tons of level geometry problems How will Destiny ever compete if it cant offer the Dust experience |

Heavies, Tankers, Scouts, Logis all need upwards of 16-18 million to completely specialize.

If you can't get that through your head then your hopeless. |

IWS I am beginning to think you are a troll.
This game has already been marketed. And promoted heavily by CCP. there are numerous interviews done by CCP ANC promotions over the past year. And gameplay time with journalists and at conventions.. What do you think marketing is?
They promoted it and the game reviews came in. And what was the verdict of these game reviews?...... |

They haven't showed a single tv ad, very little website ads, (The only time you see them is when you search for things eve or dust related on google) and many other advertisements.
Also don't say the PS store advertised it either because any new game gets put up on the front page for at least a week. |

I for one see no reason to leave atm.
I mean I might decide to stop hitting cap each week if I get bored enough, but I plan to stick around for any and all patches in the future waiting for the content to increase.
as a free game with passive sp why would I ever quit for good...
as for the rest of you don't let the door hit you on the way out, I don't give two flying fucks if you're here or not I'm a console gamer and I don't really get why everyone assumes everyone on a console is an impatient **** with ADD, that can't wait a month for a content patch.
I believe what most people are saying is THEY have no patience and THEY can't wait, please speak only for yourself >.> |

No but any dev with half a brain would see that 5k players is VERY lackluster (especially for a F2P game) and start picking up pace real quickly. Well that is unless they plan on shutting down dust soon which I don't see as a possibility yet. |

CCP is going to do whatever they want to do, they always have and always will. The only will question is whether that approach is going to work with Dust as it had with Eve. |

Depends on what a player wants out of a game. It's unlikely that if players put down Dust because it wasn't offering the gameplay expierence they were looking for that they'll come back. Now a player who was simply bored of Dust is more likely to come back after a period of time, IMO. |
