Dont expect this game to have any real sort of player base if it takes until next year to get this game halfway decent
Yeah yeah "EVE took a long time to get where it is now" EVE was also essentially alone in the sci fi spaceship based MMORPG area, Dust has a lot of competition and has spent years in development and a good year actually having people play it and provide their feedback but somehow in one feel swoop they were able to undo all the good of chromosome and give us this broken build |

God I cant imagine how bad the backlash would be if they had heavily advertised this game |

CCP said they aren't going to spend a lot of money on marketing until next year.
Again next year is far to late, just look at falls upcoming competition, then consider what next years competition will be like, then realize that be the time Dust gets around to advertising those are completely polished games that had the same amount of development time or even less will have their own dedicated player bases running on next gen systems while this game slowly putters along
If it helps you feel better I very much wont likely be around after summer so youll have one less person you have to pretend is crazy |

Yea that's some competition there /sarcasm. Destiny does look good but it wont give the same experience as dust does.
Ah yes the Dust experience With its hit detection and aiming issues, terrible balance, missing the core suits to all races, tons of level geometry problems How will Destiny ever compete if it cant offer the Dust experience |

I ask because Dust is alone in the FPS metagame genre. So what competition are you referring to? Games like Destiny that will become stale after 2 months? CoD series which gets boring after 2 weeks? Or maybe you think the bug ridden **** fest that is PS2 is somehow a more developed game because they will port to ps4 and follow the normal 3 month update schedule (if you are lucky) of most playstation games? I'm intrigued by this. Edit - rephrased first sentence.
I laughed so ******* hard it scared the cat when I realized you were serious when you said FPS Metagame genre Ill do you one better, name a single game that does NOT have a metagame |

Dust 514 cost me absolutely nothing to play it. It cost me nothing to gain 8 mil SP, and as i continue to play...i will still not pay any money to CCP to enjoy Dust, unless i decide otherwise.
CCP providing a means for you to decide on your own free will to purchase items that you can achieve in the long run (or quicker SP accrual) without spending money, does not give CCP an obligation to ANYONE playing Dust.
I think you are having a hard time understanding the fact that paying to play dust is optional.
And you don't understand, that a "GAME" that no one plays, is not much of a "GAME"... in the end of the day CCP is in the business of making games. A company that makes games for a living have an obligation to Gamers, free to play or not. I'm pretty sure theres 5-8k players on during peak hours. So the game isn't at the stage of "no one playing", and hasn't been since i started playing. CCP is indeed in the business of making games, and they met that obligation by providing you with the game to play. Anything else you feel obligated/entitled to is your own misguided prerogative.
The numbers
It brushes up against 5k but nowhere near 8k and the numbers are on a downward trend |
