IWS I am beginning to think you are a troll.
This game has already been marketed. And promoted heavily by CCP. there are numerous interviews done by CCP ANC promotions over the past year. And gameplay time with journalists and at conventions.. What do you think marketing is?
They promoted it and the game reviews came in. And what was the verdict of these game reviews?...... |

They haven't showed a single tv ad, very little website ads, (The only time you see them is when you search for things eve or dust related on google) and many other advertisements. Also don't say the PS store advertised it either because any new game gets put up on the front page for at least a week.
Tv ads?
Don't make me laugh. If you were a gamer you would have had to have your head in the sand for the past year and a half not know about this game |

Your student colleagues can't be much interested in the gaming industry then. Seriously. Consumer and trade journals alone had articles on companies moving to /trying out FTP in which dust mentioned plus there were stabs alone articles about ccp linking two games and the importance of eve in the industry.

Games always have the people that will constantly complain about the game, even after getting everything they want. Dust just has people who are FAR worse and feel entitled to being pampered to win without having to use skill to do so.
Once they release all the game features they said were in development, people will start complaining that the items aren't in their favourite colour.
As as soon as the items are available in their favourite color, they will complain theres no black variant.
After they release the black variant, they will complain theres no white variant.
CCP simply can't win with most of the crowd, because they feel like if they decided to play this game, either knowing or finding out its current state of development, while thinking they should be a Rock that is able to dominate Paper, Scissors, and other Rocks with ultimate ease, will continue to complain about every little thing that doesn't make their life happier by not winning at the game they are playing.
I like to laugh on the inside at the ******* who complain all day long on the forums, yet sit there each week and hit their SP cap.
Be an adult and have patience.
If they admit / tell me that player trading/ link with eve/ null/ mmo will be delivered in 2017 then I will come back then and see if they have improved the gameplay. I hope sooner than that.
I am here trying to find out when the game CCP is advertising/ talks about delivering is actually supposed to turn up. Not this 90s lobby shooter
But they won't tell us.

Did Microsoft tell you in 1990 that they would release windows 95? Did sony say they were gonna create the ps3 a year after the ps2 was released? Did Blizzard tell you they were gonna make Warcraft 3 a few months after warcraft 2 came out? No. They didn't tell you anything until they felt it was the right time. CCP isn't psychic. They can't tell the future. They can only continue to work on the game they are developing. If you can't handle their schedule, i suggest you change yours.
What are you talking about? I am stating what CCP are publicly promoting as the game we are playing . A game that people are paying money for.
If they want to promote that game (and not the one we have) they should tell us when they expect it to turn up.

If they want to promote that game (and not the one we have) they should tell us when they expect it to turn up. Everything they have publicly promoted is correct. Your false interpretation of it doesn't make it incorrect. They never stated the trading between both games was implemented, PC makes it an MMO by definition, the game IS linked with currently linked with EVE, hence the star systems that are in both games, and they are improving the gameplay with each patch. So...what exactly are YOU talking about? Edit - This is a free to play game, people deciding to spend money on it is of their own free will, and CCP owes them nothing for it. The argument that people payed money on a free to play game is moot point.
It's not an mmo
It's link with eve is tenuous at most
And having been here since replication CCP promoted trading and a full eve link with soon. They have promoted this vision publicly to journalists and at game conferences.
What I am asking for is when? They must a have timeline internally.
You need to do some economics/ business 101. FTP does not mean this is a free game. And any business saying they don't owe their customers anything will fold very quickly. |

"Vision" is they key word. Perhaps you should realize what you are saying, and what it means.
I do. And they say its going to be delivered. Usually with the term soon. But more importantly its what they promote publicly as being a fact. Hence why I am asking when.
I actually don't think you have any comprehension skills. And are unable to make any logical arguments. |

Again with the "Free" game ...You may have free access to the game, but is not free. You need: - PS3 - Internet Connection - TV As a Sony exclusive they using the game to sell PS3's to EvE fans, and PC users. Also soon Vita's with the Dust 514 App. If you want to call Dust 514 truly FREE, it should be in the PC without exclusivity rights. The only flaw with your statement is that the game is still free regardless. If you can't afford a ps3, dust is still free. if you can't afford an internet connection, dust is still free. if you don't have a TV...guess what? Dust is free. Paying money to panasonic and comcast communications has no bearing on CCP providing a free game. Btw, you know that you also have to buy a computer if you wanted to play it on that, right?
Dust is not free. It costs CCP money to make the game.
FTP does not mean there is not a business model behind it.

You just pointed out they said its going to be delivered...as in not yet implemented. Then in the same paragraph you say they promoted publicly these game mechanics were implemented, as fact. You don't see the problem there?
No. Because all CCP has done is promote a game that hasn't been delivered. I might add they may say there are but who knows. I am asking when we are expecting this magical game to turn up. 3 months 6 months 1 year 2 years 3 years ..... Etc
The promotion of these game mechanics have been going on for a year and a half. That as a fact they will turn up. When all I am asking is when. |

The only flaw with your statement is that the game is still free regardless. Paying money to panasonic and comcast communications has no bearing on CCP providing a free game. Btw, you know that you also have to buy a computer if you wanted to play it on that, right? Without a PS3, Dust is not free ... is similar with PC's, F2P games normally have "Under the table" deals with Graphic Card and CPU companies... Just look at the Recommended Specs for a game, and you'll see the "connection". Under the tables deals don't force me to give my credit card information to CCP to purchase items. So even with that logic, Dust 514 is STILL free.
Dust is not free. Your wrong to keep saying that. It may free to play (after you have purchased the necessary equipment needed to play but it certainly isn't free to develop, host servers etc.)

I can only lol at your lack of reading. By doing so you'd know the subject of my debate with him was dust being free to play. And you tried to insult me with reading comprehension.
Then stop writing free as stand alone |

Then stop writing free as stand alone Considering the subject of the discussion between me and him were "dust being free to play", i have the ability to use literacy to talk about the topic mentioned, without having to reiterate each sentence that "what im saying is dust is free to play, not free to develop", which it costing money to develop was never a topic mentioned in our discussion anyways. Are you gonna start correcting my grammar now while you post "your" instead of "you're"? I know the english language is considered hard to learn, but please attempt to try.
Tbh I think your use of FTP and free interchangeably is a mistake. I think it shows a failure to understand the point about the FTP business model and what constitutes free I may be wrong why But it may be why you think CCP has no obligations to customers. And what CCP is trying to achieve using this model.

Dust 514 cost me absolutely nothing to play it. It cost me nothing to gain 8 mil SP, and as i continue to play...i will still not pay any money to CCP to enjoy Dust, unless i decide otherwise.
CCP providing a means for you to decide on your own free will to purchase items that you can achieve in the long run (or quicker SP accrual) without spending money, does not give CCP an obligation to ANYONE playing Dust.
I think you are having a hard time understanding the fact that paying to play dust is optional.[/quote]
Last post on this. Your first statement is factually wrong. You fail to understand there is no such thing as free. You paid for your equipment, your Internet and your time.
Google search free and economics
I would like to see CCP come out and say to paying customers we don't owe you anything.
I never said to you that playing dust wasn't optional.
