by the time this game is tweaked poked optimized updated and what not ps6 will be out...and ill be long gone

My bad i assumed you guys knew CCP is planning on this game being around in 10 years and your playing your same character in 10 years with weapons and enhancements they havent even thought of yet...like EVE never ending,,,,always new builds....never a polished , never a finished version...just always getting better and bigger. I assumed people that played DUST knew all that.

what makes it different to other FPS games

I do not play nor like COD, BF or Halo. Have played them all and dont like them at all. I have no intrest in KDR in any game ever. I appreciate the skill the players in those games have and enjoy watching some gameplay from time to time. But I would rather stick pencils in my eyes than play those games for more than a hour. I love DUST. I dont care about graphic or sound. I care about the world the game is in. Give me layers and depth. Not a fast twitch JO session. Now Im done with this thread.

My friends, right up until the majority of them quit due to Uprising.

I'm not just saying that to further some hidden agenda either. True story. I actually rather enjoyed Uprising, but without your friends, it's really not nearly as much fun. And now that they buffed all the guns, it's even more difficult to be a pure logi (no skills in weapons)

Soooooo. I'm going to go ahead and wait this storm out. if it doesn't get better by launch, well.. I hate to say all hope is lost, but it's going to be a tough pill to swallow.

when you download and play it...it will have 'beta game work in progress' on some menu

I can see them removing the whole shooting part of it completely. You'd just buy/skill your suits until they were shiny and awesome, and walk around the pretty little maps completely unarmed while voice-chatting with a bunch of guys complaining that they nerfed the menus.

No I wouldnt, Id rather spend 60 dollars and just pick up Defiance for a sci fi shooter with RPG elements

Thats a viable option for PC game development, this is not a PC game
CCP needs to learn that lesson or this games player base will shrink down to a bunch of EVE fanboys telling each other its all going to be ok

Dust 514 is great and it has potential. CCP is known for its vision into the future. They have different ideas, things that other games would never have. The game isn't that awesome now, but it's like any MMO. It's young and it needs a lot of work up ahead.

It's funny to see people now a days saying that a game will die. CCP must be laughing at people that once said the same about EVE. And there EVE lies, with 30k players each day.

Developing a game isn't easy. Talking trash about anything is.

Ill take a game thats core mechanics work as intended over a broken game any day
When people are no longer getting snagged on nothing in the terrain, when aiming for all control schemes works as intended, hell when the game doesnt need a hotfix a day for nearly a week just before the launch then maybe Ill give weight to you rambling about taste and vision
As for EVE the PC base in general is larger and the competition among sci fi themed MMOs is also much smaller, always has been while sword and sorcery schlock has some new game popping up every week

Oh and about you saying CCP has vision and ideas for this game, John Romero had vision and ideas for Daikatana, ID and Gearbox had vision and ideas for Duke Nukem, and screw it Ill even invoke Godwins law since Im about to head out for the day, ****** had vision and ideas for Germany

AFKing in hopes dust will improve soon.

Dust has no layers nor dept, no lore, no game modes, no explanations etc etc etc... as it stands today we have a broken game, unplayable for most. What keeps me coming back? Nothing I quit playing today, about to delete. What's keeping me on the forums though is the possibility that my months of grinding will be salvaged and the fixes made before I find a new game to take its place.

it ain a great game
it lacks alot of basic stuff...theres like 2 game modes ,,1 game mode for AFKing and and 1 for pub stomping lone player and newberries.
after doing a small update its now broken.

but i still go back on to play it.. even though my bullets are now painting the edges of my targets body as if hes dead.. but he just runs away.

There are 3 books, an entire website full of chronicles... I mean there are in-game descriptions of items that include lore stuff. A billion videos on CCP's Youtube and a decent introduction video when you start the game, as well as another one the first time you log in with a new character. What do you want? ******* cutscenes?
