Dust 514 is great and it has potential. CCP is known for its vision into the future. They have different ideas, things that other games would never have. The game isn't that awesome now, but it's like any MMO. It's young and it needs a lot of work up ahead.

It's funny to see people now a days saying that a game will die. CCP must be laughing at people that once said the same about EVE. And there EVE lies, with 30k players each day.

Developing a game isn't easy. Talking trash about anything is.

I really agree with the post above me.
People that are not enjoying the game right now, can just take a break, go play another game and stop spamming the forums with this kind of "TEH GAM IS DIYEING!1" thread.

I might be here for awhile, only cause this is my break at the moment from FPS games. But when the next great FPS drops I'll be gone for a bit. then probably return. then leave to conquer then return and so forth.

The "potential" is all Dust has had, and CCP aren't unlocking it anytime fast. I won't be back, as all the latest changes go against all the suggestions and advice we have given CCP over the last 11 months. Terrain is STILL glitchy. Head glitching has only gotten worse with the return of draw distance problems. TAR being Op, then nerfed, then Op, incomming Nerf, vehicles being indestructible, being nerfed AND buffed each new build and part way through each too. Dust doesn't actually have potential. It's just a load of CCP bullshit. No player market, no PvE, no 24 on 24 games. Frame rate still an issue. Latency/hit detection, still an issue. It's not worth my bandwidth.

Finding a choke point where I can snipe effectively at extreme distance (relative safety except from other snipers). Or, like yesterday, a bit of combat, the guy runs off, I run across a ways, it hits me he may be coming around behind me, turn and see him coming up over the crest at me, go scope, he jumps, scope waggle stops... as he comes down I take a shot and get a one hit kill. Sweet. Additionally, an unknown blue was chasing my pursuer, and I was very grateful for the effort though it would have been too late if I hadn't taken care of the matter -- but I'd have been avenged (maybe). I usually end up on the losing end of direct confrontation when using the sniper rifle but there's a mini story in these events and sometimes it's incredibly fun. Another similar event I managed to get a panic hip shot head shot on my would be killer... that one was luck but I laughed my arse off and imagined how pissed off the other guy was. Sometimes you are the mouse and sometimes you are the hawk. You define your character by how you handle being the mouse. You get the fun out of being the hawk.

The better your character becomes. Aka the skill system. Even if you quit. The passive Skill point accumulation and continuous updates will always give a player more of a reason to come back after a break. If you play an mmo for years and completely stop. Some people might feel like it was a wasted effort.

Ill take a game thats core mechanics work as intended over a broken game any day When people are no longer getting snagged on nothing in the terrain, when aiming for all control schemes works as intended, hell when the game doesnt need a hotfix a day for nearly a week just before the launch then maybe Ill give weight to you rambling about taste and vision As for EVE the PC base in general is larger and the competition among sci fi themed MMOs is also much smaller, always has been while sword and sorcery schlock has some new game popping up every week Oh and about you saying CCP has vision and ideas for this game, John Romero had vision and ideas for Daikatana, ID and Gearbox had vision and ideas for Duke Nukem, and screw it Ill even invoke Godwins law since Im about to head out for the day, ****** had vision and ideas for Germany
