I've been thinking a lot about this, and I have 2 problems with the skills shown:
1. The only Light Dropsuits are Minmatar and Gallente. 2. The only Heavy Dropsuits are Amarr.
Caldari and Amarr players have no Scout or equivalent that ties to either their own race or their traditional ally.
Gallente and Minmatar are without a Heavy suit from their own or their allies' manufaturers. And this in spite of Minmatar building a Heavy Weapon.
Hoping there's more than we've seen here. |

We are not given the base stats and slot layout of the suits yet, are we? As a jack of all trades, master of speed race minmatar bonuses are most probably in slot layout and/or sprint speed. The logistics suit did remind me of Nidhoggur in comparison to caldari 25% shield extender bonus, though... |

Assault dropship is for the win but how come that i dont see the scrambler rifle on the pics? Probs not finished yet. Well CCP has around a month left to make the final decisions.
The game needs more SP sinks to try and keep going along EVE for the next decade :) Wait for ground capitals... |

Im in the same boat
As it is now a few skills cross over the infantry vehicle divide and are useful to both sets of players, its why you do see infantry who can use an AUR tank for example but fit it as well as a HAV driver barring a few mods and skills, hell to get the basic vehicles is vehicle 5 then lvl1 in whatever race you want and if you already have the best shields and armor you are basically good to go
This will make the vehicle drivers more specialized with the spliting up of basic skills such as PG/CPU but also make us for lethal i hope, the risk tho for us is even higher on the ground because most likely we will be stuck to using basic fits if we choose to run and gun and depending on what skills we need like infantry CPU/PG the fits we have now we cannot use due to limitations
The new attack dropships are intresting and hopefully useful as in we can outrun and outmanover SL, the new HAV more damage but possibly a glass tank, right now i have a glass tank build as it is but it will be intresting to see if this new HAV is even more powerful
I do hope tho that each dropsuit has racial bonuses and same for vehicles so that it mirrors EVE |

Am I the only one who getts the impression that there may be to many new skills? I get the feeling its moving towards something like "Exile" Assault Rifle Usage Skill, "Exile" PG Usage Skill, "Exile" Sharp Shooting Skill, and then the "Gek" AR usage skill. etc. etc. etc.
I like my Caldari missiles in EVE, I trained Bombardment and it affected ALL of my missiles. It was painful enough training for like 10 days for Heavy Missile 5, then 10 days for HAM 5 then like 20 days for Torp 5.

Its probably just me. I think it's better this way so your forced to be good in one weapon instead of being great at them all it was too easy to go from one weapon to another and get all the bonuses I like this. |

It's actually functionally the same as in EVE, it just seems like they're breaking it down more because there are so many more weapon types in DUST. |

The terms "greatest... offensive reach" and "weakened armour and shield output and greatly compromised speed" suggest something that would likely be best off sat at the back of the map lobbing shells into the fray rather than mixing it in the middle... |

Hopefully this won't make the game more newbie-unfriendly than it already is, though. Ideally there's a middle ground between making the game more newbie-friendly to get into, and enough incentive of this sort for long-term play. But if it's too "hardcore" it runs risk of becoming this thing that "will last", albeit as a nostalgic memory of a game with a cult following but hardly anybody actually playing it once the game fails to inject new blood every now and then, and the game growing stale around a stagnant pool of old players.
When you start out in this game in the current build, you're expendable garbage. Stuff kills you in one or two hits, you have a hard time inflicting significant damage, you can't pilot actually useful vehicles, and so forth. If this is going to be the status quo, but the devs are diluting the skill selections even further, my knee-jerk reaction to seeing these bigger skill lists is to say that the game is becoming more newbie-unfriendly. |

The game needs to give newbies a role. That's why EVE is still alive and well and nobody is complaining that the older players have 200mil SP+ For example, a Battleship can't take on a Frigate, it just won't hit it, so you need Frigate support. That's where newbies come in. |

That's my AP fit exactly, and the 726k figure sounds correct. It's not cheap to force a dropship into the role of gunship, is it?
We can only hope that the new Assault DS will be half as expensive to fit. |
