Just because you may be sad from the loss of someone you know does not mean that everyone else needs to see, or care about your loss in any way. There are MANY more relevant achievements that could warrant an in-game item, like the first person to exploit their way to 1 million kills (hahaha see what I did there?). PhillipFryNotSureIfTrollingOrSerious.jpg Not trolling. I had a much longer original post, but the dust forums decided to troll me and erased it before posting lol. What it comes down to is there are losses all around the world either military or not. Even if this game was US only (which it's not) then you would still have a hard case trying to idolize this death in particular. It all comes down to relevance and perceived importance, and after a week no one will really remember this goonie who died save for the ones who knew him, or saw this article. The reason we have monuments is because it was a game related epic achievement, not because someone died (out of millions) and enough people moaned and pleaded to have him idolized in their favorite game. /hard truth: get over it You are missing a harder truth, some people have a bigger impact (and hence relative importance) than others. Yes the impact was in a virtual world for this individual, but it was also a reportedly a huge impact within that context. So it makes sense that many believe that he should be idolized within the world he was such a big part of.

whatever is decided they should throw up a rat icon in the killfeed for everyone who uses this suit/vehicle/weapon similar to how some shooters who get a nutshot get a squirrel or a pair of walnuts icon maybe even turn this into an aurum item for charity. |

When you have people like CNN, BBC news confirming that Sean's dead it really blows the idea this being a hoax out of the water. |

I agree on a certain form of tribute. Concerning him being Spy and Diplomat in EVE and an IT Guy in Real Life it seems the appropriate suit would be a low sig suit with hacking bonus. On the other hand whatever will come of this in the end it only seems as if the EVE and DUST community has lost Vile Rat. His idea of creating and supplying diplomatic channels in a PVP Sandbox at such a scale will be remembered. |

Some tribute would be good. He was on EvE's csm, not that many people have been on that. He altered the course of EvE's politics, and was a DUST514 tester. I think that is enough to earn a tribute. |

Nice, now that would be a good suit. Has to be with his favorite color though. Goons and some of the Devs should know what it was. They mix it up from there and get a good color scheme going. |

Not sure off the top of my head, it's not a forum posting one, He didn't play much dust, he just gave it ago when he first got access and decided it wasnt for him. |

Vile Rat was one of the staffers killed in the attack. He was also one of the premier diplomats within the EVE online game. |

Which in turn, led to CCP creating this game that we all love & play. With this in mind, I propose that an armour set be created in his honour, with the AUR generated going to a charity of his Family's choosing. If you Guys (and Girls) agree, then simply reply. Rorek IronBlood wrote:Dewie Cheecham wrote:I wonder what stats a Diplomat suit would have :)
But I do agree, it would be a fitting tribute. Well it should be a balanced BPO in the end. Standard or militia tech level. I vote standard tech level entry. I think it should have more slots though, but in different areas for different variants across the board. Take the scout for instance -- I'd remove the [L] module, but add another tier one module or tier two module instead. Leaving the scout with only the [S] sidearm module for combat. Maybe even remove the grenade module for yet another support module, or even another tier one or two support module. Remember he's a diplomat. So it makes sense for removing the [L] light module which supports primary weapons essentially. Besides most diplomats are trained in using basic sidearm techniques. Anyway this is just an example of what I would do. However I'd leave the PG (Power Grid) and CPU (Central Processing Unit) output the same as standard tech. This way it makes you choose wisely on what modules to use, but also keeps "balance" without becoming -- Pay to Win -- in terms of AUR gear. Support. I would buy with AUR especially if the proceeds were donated. |
