No. By the time we reach Null sec, everyone will have been exposed to so much anti goon propaganda, only 1 thing awaits.Oh the times they are a changing.
So you think we might be the down fall of Goon?
You say this like Goons haven't fallen before. I've been playing EvE since beta and I count about three different times when they've been forced out of territory.
However, unlike the general player, to Goonfleet EvE is just a game and not to be taken seriously. The problem isn't them, its everyone else. Without player alliances like Goonfleet to antagonize the rest of the community this would be just another boring and grindy MMORPG/space-ship model viewer. |

While that sentiment may be held true by some. And lets be honest for some FPS players it IS true, certainly not all however.
Goon is not an authority in EVE. THEY ARE MASSIVETROLLS!! MASSIVE!! Not to mention major bastards. They belong to the something awful forum group hardcore troll and hardcore greifing community. And i don't mean " aww you mad bro? Their Latest **** move was they tried to drive a guy to suicide for the lol's . Even braged about it during the Fanfest alliance forum which was a good showing of what total assholes they are. If you don't know about goon or something awful Google it .So don't take their word as a judgment upon all Dusters by eve players.
That said do kill them and take their money.
That is all.
Good info. I will definetly remember them if they are this big of douche bags. Anybody that would try to push someone that far is no group i would wanna go anywhere near. |

amarrian victorian wrote:console FPS had lots of successful clans and groups. the problem is almost no games has any tools to support clans any more, no I am not talking private matches.
On the original xbox Battlefield 2 modern combat had a great clan system, you sent invites like friend invites, to get into a clan match you would put a map and hit start, when another clan accepted the game was on, you could then send a message to all your other clan members to get in the match to win
these days nothing is in the game. the only things you can really do are useless clan tags.
unfortunately i see alot of people who say they "got into shooters" with mag or black ops. Which tells me theyre too young to remember clan wars from the first socom. Guess im old now. Things have changed and it seems to me the kids are mouthier now too. And they try to boss people around like they have authority. |

So many of them are unbrained..... Some matches, when I defend on the 3 objectives with few people, and then the ennemy team is coordonate taken the 3points in no time, I watch the map to see where are my allies, and they're all outside from the base..... Seriously it's not funny when you have to fight a coordinate team(the brained one) with a group of most unbrained people I have ever seen. Many people need to learn teamwork and the most essential PROTECT or ATTACK objectives. Well, this is something that can't change, like in MAG, when you need a medic there are 10medics near you but they don't res you.... Once the tools are given to form organized groups, this will change a lot. In my opinion
I agree with that for sure. Once in awhile im in a match where it just randomly happens to be organized and that match seems to end quick. Teamwork changes everything. |

Youve gotta realize that we will be able to affect somethings. Like if your corp is contracted to defend or attack something for an eve player. Doesnt mean you HAVE to. Like maybe youve agreed to another player to not be succesfull. Possiblities..... |

I listened to it, and it's pretty accurate. The way EVE players organize vs. the way your average FPS player organizes is different. In looking at clans, and the tools they use to organize, I find that they are much less streamlined and polished then your average alliance. Also looking at the major EVE players vs, major FPS players, the podcast hits the nail on the head: I bet that you can name more MLG players then you can EVE directors, CEO's, or even out of game tool devs.
At this point in the beta, none of that is a big deal. Next build will see clans become corps, with many of these clans falling flat and learning some very rough lessons. Director roles, logistics, comms, intel, propaganda, industry...man the list goes on and on. I've heard people brag about their connections to people, places, and things in EVE without ever having set foot in my world, having never played eve on the scale that I have, but let me tell an anecdote.
I subbed to EVE under the buddy program because of my fascination with the player run economy. I went from a 20M to being able to plex in my first week and joined an industrial corp in the forge. I log in at the end of my first week and BLAM, some HR idiot didnt do a background check properly. A proteus griefer proceeded to pop every and all unsuspecting pilots in the corp, repeatedly. Worse? he wouldn't dock, taking advantage of the fact that a pilot in space couldn't be kicked from corp, leaving us all stuck with this guy for 24 hrs before we could drop corp. It's the nature of the game.
Knowing EVE like I do, from a highsec pubbie to a nullsec grunt who's spacerich, I can tell you this: you're barking up the wrong tree if you think you are going to take over New Eden from DUST. You've been infiltrated, probably at the officer level, and every plan you have, everything you've said and done, has already been noted by any number of organizations within EVE. Once the NDA drops on DUST, dont be surprised to see chat logs and forum dumps on blogs and forums. If you want to make waves in this game, you better come correct and with a poker face.
That being said, I see some clans making baby steps towards building great things, and applaud everyone who has taken the initiative to start transitioning from clan to corp. Basic services are provided by many of these clans, and dialogues have begun with power blocks. History is being made here. Perhaps competition, not animosity and contempt, will move us all forward. |
