So many of them are unbrained..... Some matches, when I defend on the 3 objectives with few people, and then the ennemy team is coordonate taken the 3points in no time, I watch the map to see where are my allies, and they're all outside of the base..... Seriously it's not funny when you have to fight a coordinate team(the brained one) with a group of most unbrained people I have ever seen. Many people need to learn teamwork and the most essential PROTECT or ATTACK objectives. Well, this is something that can't change, like in MAG, when you need a medic there are 10medics near you but they don't res you....
Yeah I had many matches where I say get to A and nobody runs to it then B falls and I have no recourse but to shoot the enemy MCC with the missile turret to avoid a loss.
But lately I just say eh!! its all getting wiped anyway so lets see if folks do better next build?? |

Ever played one of those other FPS games where the enemy kept raining artillery fire and other off map fire instead of actually fighting? I see the Eve spaceholders making that happen here - as frustrating as that is.
Yes the big alliances do take themselves FAR too seriously - this is what I am warning you about.
You are stepping into a galaxy where there are already existing groups thousands strong, who are experienced at teamwork and co-ordination. (Ever been the leader of a 500 man team? I have....)
These people you are talking about steamrolling are already here, in the beta. They have already infiltrated most of the "in" crowds. They will sink to levels you would have difficulty believing to achieve victory and conquer a system.
You don't seem to realize just what kind of environment you are getting ready to step into.......
There have been documented cases of DDOS attacks being used on a specific player to kill his internet and keep his Titan out of a fight.
There have been documented cases of someone actually going to the enemy fleet commander's house and turning off his electricity at a key moment to swing a battle.
There have been documented cases of Mega Alliances falling because someone put in multiple YEARS as a spy and when the time was right gave the alliances items and isk to their enemy before disbanding it.
If you think you are going to steamroll these guys - good luck If you think it is going to be easy, then either you are stupid, or you just don't understand the extremes these people will go to in order to win. |

So what if they have thousands of members, so what if they're rich. So what if they have a **** ton of ships.
We have nothing to lose, there for, we have nothing to fear. Goon on the other hand has everything to lose.
Ships ISK space stations SOV THEIR PLANETS
We can take a planet, have its guns attack the ships in orbit, and (maybe) take out the space station orbiting said world.
Go ahead and bomb the **** out of us, we'll just lose a few thousand isk, nothing too major, unlike your $billion rust buckets.
Even if we lose, it'll only take us all about an hour or 2 to gain all the isk back that we lose. Then we can just attack again, and again, and again, and again. |

Not 500, but I've led a few 128 v 128 man battles and come out on top despite near constant bombardments from the opposition.
I didn't say anything about it being easy, but CCP would be stupid to allow orbiting ships to strike without cause, that is... unless they allow us tools to do the same.
Seriously, you're making big assumptions about game mechanics that haven't been implemented. Whos to say CCP won't introduce an transportation protocol that allows us to deploy a limited number of mercs onto ships trolling planets for the souls of innocent mercenaries? The what? Well... better contract for some defenders on board because if you don't defend yourself, we're ganking your ship and selling it to the highest bidder... possibly you.
What makes the Eve players think they will control what terms we engage them on? CCP has announced very little. Don't be surprised when your little "lol lets strike some mercs" expedition for the lulz ends up with you being held hostage on the bridge of your big pretty spaceship. |

I'm having a flashback to 2006 and Goonswarm doing exactly that from S-U8A4 in Syndicate... Oh, wait, that was a bit before my time. Sorry!
At any rate, keep up the good attitude, it will give you something to do and (if you're very, very lucky) maybe something for the Goons to do for a bit, too. I think this spite, hatred, and premature bittervettedness will fit right in. Carry on!
Edit: Syndicate is one of the NPC-held null sec or "0.0" (security rating) regions outside of CONCORD-patrolled "Empire" space; I'm hoping we'll see a lot of DUST 514 activity in them and in the low sec region that borders Empire. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/0.0

Sigh..... well I tried. I tried to inform you of the enemy you are choosing to face. I tried to warn you of the depths to which they will sink (all of the examples above were perpatrated by Goonfleet) I tried to tell you how to stand a chance of victory against my foes.
Instead you still beat your chests, and are so assured that your gun game will bring you victory, sadly against Goons that just doesn't work. The Goons have NEVER been great combatants, but I have to admit, they are masters of the Meta-Game to the point of going so far their methods make even me disgusted.
You have been warned, hopefully rather than attack me for telling you what is coming, some of you will follow the advice I gave and assemble the knowledge and meta-gaming skill to be effective against them.
Sadly, you just don't seem to understand how badly meta-game trumps in game skill. Go - fight - show the Goons what you've got. Just promise me you won't just give up and quit when they bring their strength to bear. |

Not necessarily aimed directly at Goon, but we're proposing a full on Military campaign as far as we can push it. And if we're given the chance by CCP I know enough people who know enough people who could interest enough people who would be full on for it for no other reason than the fact that DUST and EVE was *made* for this kind of thing. And because we can. Always because we can.

Seemed to me most of us weren't going "OMG GOONSWARM! WE LUV THEM!" but in fact were going "they are a bunch of asshats and here's some reasons why and what we feel they are going to do in dust"
for some reason tho, a few of you don't seem to be able to read correctly, but there are those of you, i think it was you that was "i want to attack them, they sound like p****'s" and humperdink there seem to have the right idea, just be aware they are definitely quite the corp of dbags who's only desire is to make people angry and ruin your enjoyment of a game, intel is always key |

Ohgawd. You HAVEN'T been listening. DON'T ANNOUNCE YOUR INTENT. On the other, ~I~ don't like your name, so I'll let someone else try to steal it from you (g'luck!).
Quote:Energy may be likened to the bending of a cross-bow; decision, to the releasing of the trigger.
Amid the turmoil and tumult of battle, there may be seeming disorder and yet no real disorder at all; amid confusion and chaos, your array may be without head or tail, yet it will proof against defeat.
Simulated disorder postulates perfect discipline; simulated fear postulates courage; simulated weakness postulates strength.
Hiding order beneath the cloak of disorder is simply a question of subdivision; concealing courage under a show of timidity presupposes a fund of latent energy; masking strength with weakness is to be effected by tactical dispositions.
Thus one who is skillful at keeping the enemy of the move maintains deceitful appearances, according to which the enemy will act.
By holding out baits, he keeps him on the march; then with a body of picked men he lies in wait for him. Sun Tzu, Ping-fa |

Wasn't me. My position is one of indifference, but I'm leaning towards burn them all now. I didn;t know who Goonswarm was, it was the Eve players who gor butt hurt at the chest thumping who evoked their name like Goonswarm would show us our proper place in the universe. |

Oh and 90% of Eve players have a long history of hating the goons. So you will most likely be working alongside those people during your war. |

I shall further from here not inform you of any perspectives i may have on your enemies tactics, because clearly there will be no accuracy whatsoever to them. i greatly apologize for even dreaming of insulting your intelligence in all things new eden, for you sir, are clearly in the right, and I am totally and undeniably in the wrong.
Thanks man, I'll mark it down with the rest of my arguments. |

Well if its like that then.. EVE players should be able to do things that keep DUST514 Players from getting what they want. EVE Players should also be the gate keepers of something DUST514 players need. |

Organization and subtlety are key to success. I'm a decent (and humble) FPS'r/gamer and am looking for the right corporation to join. Anything easy isn't worth accomplishing, if it's tough to do, count me in.
Not giving out my PSN ID here on forum, but I am down for what alot of you are suggesting. Contact me or I'll contact some of you when I get the info. Be nice to see a Corp. of Beta testers (Beta Corps) together. |
