Got a question for you.
this is not a defense of the silence.
How many times has a dev shared information, and not been responded to in the following manner: "You're an idiot" directly or indirectly, "you're lying about X data" or "you're only providing enough to prove your point but you're being deceptive," or been told they're ruining the game?
This is a two-way street.

I was negative i was and im still on some points negative about development. BTW i never called someone idiot people have sometimes different views. But what we need is dialog not silence. Company must accept criticism even the negative one.
Again i must admit i do not trust about whole funding for example. Because there was voices about how they have small team, but if i read somewhere how dust is profitable? Money makes jobs, we all know this.
but enough about my paranoia back to topic
You gave me question and honestly there i have question for you.
When we had some vox populi here? When we had open conversation about development?
Do you think people sees better lights more important that disconnection or skins more important than lag reduction? Do you think people think silence is better than dialog?
We all here are community and some of us are here since beta ergo we care about game. And that is basicaly reasson for all of this.

DUST is profitable, but no one has EVER said HOW profitable. Not even to me, nor will they likely ever tell me how deep in the red or black DUST is.
They simply won't. Doesn't matter how much you want otherwise.
As to open discussions, CCP under rattati has been more open about communicating and accepting player input. Hotfix Foxfour was almost entirely changes proposed and developed by players.
The CPM exists as a filter for people who cannot read every single post and still have enough time to do their jobs.
The silence, while aggravating, is grounded very firmly in real issues. I may disagree with it, but I fully understand it. We're not going to change it without both the EVE and DUST community ratcheting back the open hostility by a few dozen newton-meters of torque.
Nothing in the community's overall responses to any given change indicate that sharing more would be a good idea. It's a two-way street.
The lag thing I can't speak on.
And I've been here since beta, does this mean I care less because I don't see things through your lens?

That has to have been, to date, one of the stupidest discussions I have ever had the displeasure of being involved in.

And the people who made this thread want CCP to move the game to another platform so the game can be made better and not be hamstrung by a nine year old console's limitations. Currently you bringing in the whole DUST strike crap here is derailing this thread and undermining their efforts.

In other news, I just brewed myself another cup of coffee. That's about as important to the devs as your boycott.
Protests and boycotts aren't going to open any mouths. How much money they make on Dust is hardly relevant, what matters is how much they take in from the new release.
The shutout has led to a deteriorating relationship between CCP and players, this creates an expectation that what will eventually be released will cut through the built up animosity. I very much doubt there's enough. There are very few veteran players left and their opinion will make a big difference in how the game is received. CCP definitely doesn't need irate veterans on opening day.
#PortDust514 is less about convincing CCP to port the game and more about fixing a damaged connection before it's severed completely. So Dries, if you would so kindly take your boycott and protest crap out of this thread, we would like to continue our efforts.
Moving on.
Now, to further drive my point in; we have roughly six months left until next fanfest and as much as I have joked about a dinghy and shoving off should there be no announcement, I'm now starting to realize how much of a wait that is and if what will be announced(should there be an announcement) Will be worth the wait at all. By fanfest, If it was announced you could board a titan, break into the capsule room, knock on a window, and press my buttcheeks against it to moon the EVE player inside, my patience would be too strained and I'd be too salty to care. This wouldn't be worth keeping me in the dark for two years.
...However, I stated before that some things need to be kept a secret until a full reveal. The chosen platform for instance, we've already seen how that worked out. But simple things like pictures of in game environments, suits, weapons, vehicles, structures, and of course some Q&A devblogs regarding these images. If anything, these would be a perfect place to start. Later on some information about community options, like corporations(or the game's equivalent of) or voice chat.
These are little things we already expect to be in the new release but don't know anything about. The point is to start communicating with players again and shedding a more positive light on future of Dust.

The first fighting force in the new generation of combat clones, Legion of the Phoenix, is made up of the survivors of the Dust project. Engraved into their Mercenary Tags is a simple phrase; "From Dust to Dust, Ashes to Ashes. The Phoenix shall always Rise". Battle hardened by events such as the Trials of Mordu and the Battle for Caldari Prime, these veterans of combat are considered to be the elite of the new Legion project. These Mercenaries rose from the fires of War, emerging into a bright new future, ready to burst free of the chains of Molden Heath. These legionnaires are ready to wage war throughout the rest of New Eden.

I highlighted the part I think we should discuss with CCP. We must have a way of keeping our investment in this game. I have heard several proposals. My own preference is that veterans will have their SP reset, but they will be given X passive SP boosters. That is just one idea, of course.
ISK and other assets are another story. I want to keep my SKINs, but everything else... meh.

I liked the SP boosters as well. Dress it up RP wise, citing previous combat experience lets them pick up the basics faster than others.
I really hope they delve into us as CHARACTERS more. Its why I wrote that whole damn paragraph.

Ok, I think a campaign is in order, something to catch attention. Social media efforts are doing great, but we need to connect more with EVE players as well as bring #PortDust514 to the attention of more Dust players.
For Dust players, talking about #PortDust514 in chat or on a mic will be good enough.
As for EVE , Jita chat could be too cluttered to get the word out. Would it be possible to contact major alliances for support?

I know Goonswarm had a defined presence for a little while under various names, so you might be able to find some Goonswarm members who'd spread the word.
Personally I want to try and set up another FW clash both in space and on the ground, but the issue would be getting enough players to run FW. The event last time was what really allowed us to do that multi-stream.
If CCP could run another Dust FW event it might give us the numbers and participation necessary to get some good fights. We can ensure they all stay mostly in the same system by staying active in all the complexes in EVE in a strategically important system. That would also draw out the defenders and could possibly lead to some good fights for the EVE players.
