I hope this succeeds where #GreenlightLegion failed.
I will always prefer Dust 514 remain on the PSN, but I'd rather see it leave for PC than see it die out.

Nevermind, I just looked and all they're saying is to bring it to PC.
If it's on PC what's the point? That's just giving it to the same people who play EVE. The whole point of Dust 514 was to get a completely different group of players into the game who would normally not get to experience New Eden because of not being on PC.

No. The /r/Eve support is coming mostly from the PC community, but the spirit of the #PortDust514 thing is just for Dust to get a port and for CCP to talk about it. At this point we all just want a port. I would prefer PC/PS4 myself. Its actually quite interesting reading that post. Someone said that porting from PS4-PC is easy. If that is true, then would it not be safe to say that the port of Dust could easily be a crossplay game seeing as we use a Tranquility to play on and only use PSN to log in? Also seeing as PC using the Windows 10 OS is compatible with the Xbox One as it uses Windows 10, porting to the Xbone should be easy too. So could the port of Dust be a crossplay of three platforms? Speaking hypothetically of course, I know it is way more complicated but it does make you think. The problem is the difference in controls. Right now Dust doesn't allow raw mouse input, but in a PC game that's a necessity.
With no restrictions in place, a player with a mouse will beat a player with a controller every time without exception. And the two communities cannot be separated as this would violate everything New Eden represents, and also make territory control like we have now in Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest impossible.
Going both ways sounds nice, but it's physically impossible to deliver that in a way that is equal for both PC and console gamers.

You elected these people.
But hey, Duke-kun still holds a place in my heart <3 They're pestering CCP about it all the time, but that's all that they can do. They don't have any real power, and aren't CCP's messengers. Don't point your finger at them. Oh yeah, no real power, lemme tell you. We totally didn't make shields at least halfway viable after how many months/years of stagnation? Anyway, I made a thing. Power as in being able to force CCP to do anything. You can attempt to convince, bringing logic and knowledge to the argument, but the final decision rests with CCP. ^THIS They don't just give you things, say "Hey fix these", you submit and they go live. They depend on you for feedback and you can influence what happens. But at the end of the day, CCP is the ones that decide. Lets never forget Fanfest, where all of the CPM told them not to do what they wanted, and CCP did it anyways. Sad that the last time we heard about a future for this game, it was to hear that they were going to drop it on PC almost unmodified from what it is now.
I mean, if they'd actually gone through with it, it might have turned out worse than it is now.

Let's keep it up there. I'm going to leave it open in my Tabs and if we all do that we can hold it on the front page.
Also, Zaria Min Dier just linked me a Tweet where someone made a statement about "bring the game home to PC". I don't know if that was someone who's also here or not, but we need to try as much as possible to keep the platform argument out of this hashtag.
#portdust514 is meant to be a show of solidarity, and arguing over a destination platform undermines that. Let's keep such discussions to these forums.

If so they could do both.
Better yet CCP could just ask the community to vote on it, just like the CPM got voted on. Then be done with it and move forward. Again the issue is controls. Mouse and keyboard will win over a controller in any situation unless you include caps on aiming speed and give controllers plenty of aim-assist, both of which are an immediate turnoff to PC gamers.

Got an EVE player to make a thread in General Discussions about it. Anyone with an EVE account, let's try and keep this thread on the front page. Going to make an EVE-online account... bumping that post soon... Damm... trail accounts can't post on every eve thread... Thinking about a subscription tho... Funny thing is, they're worried about declining playerbase as well... A friend of mine who has a tendency to be right all the time and smug about it actually called that one as soon as they announced the new "release cadence".
EVE always used to do bi-annual "blockbuster" expansions with trailers and lots of hype buildup and all the usual fanfare. They decided to switch to a system where they did 10 smaller releases each year in order to allow them to deploy content when it was ready instead of waiting for expansions, but the issue is that that means you have to go to updates.eveonline.com to even know what they added. The Big Expansion model was a major component in bringing back the people who burned out or were distracted by other games.
Now they're bringing that model back for big ticket features while using the rapid release model for smaller content. The combination should bring numbers back up, especially since the next one is going to be the Citadels that replace all current player-built starbase/station structures.

Here are the bonuses at present:

Here's your port, and why it's not coming, lol. We use the term "port" very loosely. Some call it a port, some call it Dust (x86), but either way we are talking about a New Eden FPS on a current gen platform (PC/PS4). And remember, as per my initial tweet: "The silence surrounding #Dust514 's future needs to stop" Meaning, we want CCP to talk to us about the future of Dust. Whatever the future might be. Perhaps they are doing EXACTLY what you describe in your post. Then they need to open a dialogue with us about it. as stated further down in that thread, they can't. Dust is making money after year of it not, they don't want this to stop, and news of Legion will likely do that. So until the game is coming out the doors that very moment, CCP will keep quiet to milk Dust. They fear community backlash, and they probably can't figure a reason to keep people playing Dust after it's announcement since Funds earned from Dust stay in Dust, so helping here doesn't help else-where. That's not the way a company works, man. Earnings from all their IPs go into the same bank at the end of the day.
As well, the fact that all progress made on PS3 would just get you further ahead for PS4 would be plenty incentive to keep playing and buying items, since they would all carry over.

Go back and look at the presentation recordings and look at how much of the mechanics were getting butchered for no reason or dropped entirely, and you'll have a better understanding of why many of us didn't like it.
Also, the "EVE: Legion" copyright was dropped. Not sure how much more dead you can get than that.

That got me. I still remember how much fun I had doing those first few orbitals after they deployed the feature back in the Closed Beta. Believe it or not, there weren't any other Corporations who were looking to do a "Corp Battle" at that time, so Seraphim Initiative and one of their training Corps just set one up against each other and were calling in Light Attack Vehicles on two hills opposite from each other and destroying them with Anti-Vehicle weapons to farm points so we could actually drop the strikes. Nowadays with the current state of Molden Heath and Planetary Conquest in Dust, combined with the addition of NPC orbital strikes to Faction Warfare, I haven't dropped a strike into Dust in almost a year. One of the best parts of the early days of Dust 514's release was the knowledge that we now shared our Internet Spaceship world with players on the ground who could help us build new and larger empires than we could before. Bring that back, CCP!

A boycott is, however mild, a threatening gesture. I understand the frustration that players are having, I do. I really do. A boycott is not the answer though. There is no other suitable course of action to be taken. We have desperately called out in the darkness for CCP's attention for a year and a half now, and have been left to flounder. I don't like having to take this action, but we have been pushed to it by CCP. We are merely victims, not perpetrators. Negotiation is, in any case, completely futile at this point. The people have been rallied and action is inevitable. I think you're taking this thing a little too seriously, man. You're sounding like this is a " March on Capitol Hill" or something.

Non of their port plans would change and they will certainly not start talking to us. Hi Ark. I will NEVER understand how anyone could think Cat is an alt of Arkena. For Dust players, talking about #PortDust514 in chat or on a mic will be good enough.
As for EVE , Jita chat could be too cluttered to get the word out. Would it be possible to contact major alliances for support? That's an interesting question. I know Goonswarm had a defined presence for a little while under various names, so you might be able to find some Goonswarm members who'd spread the word.
Personally I want to try and set up another FW clash both in space and on the ground, but the issue would be getting enough players to run FW. The event last time was what really allowed us to do that multi-stream.
If CCP could run another Dust FW event it might give us the numbers and participation necessary to get some good fights. We can ensure they all stay mostly in the same system by staying active in all the complexes in EVE in a strategically important system. That would also draw out the defenders and could possibly lead to some good fights for the EVE players.

Oh we know they're not throwing it away, not intentionally anyway. Your view is very well shared by the rest of us. But CCP's stubborn silence and outright shutout isn't going to result in a pretty release. Expectations have been made, whatever CCP has behind their Iron Curtain better make up for the built up animosity their silence has generated. But by the time there is an announcement, whatever they reveal might not be enough no matter how spectacular it is. It is a very real danger.

I still find it funny that everyone got mad when they found out CCP wanted ti give us everything we asked for, but changed the name. People cared so much about the name. You mean they changed the platform, no one gives a **** about names. Could of named it WaifuShitsOnYou and I would of played. Actually names are very important. Its great for marketing purposes, and it draws people closer to the game. That combined with the font, then the style of the text. Also with how close it is to familiar comes. Like Call of Duty is a well known. So another commonly known name like game Call of the dead. See... people will remember the game more. Names are very important, especially for this community. Just look at how people lost their minds and flipped out at CCP just for the idea of changing the name of DUST along with porting it. The community acted as if they were dropping the game just because of a name change. It is funny how often this community has gotten mad over getting what it asked for. Project Legion was pitched to us as a half-assed rush job, and we didn't even find out that they'd try to keep our characters and progress until later.
That's why we were mad. Stop trying to spin what actually happened in order to try and tear us down just because we don't agree with you.
That's not a discussion. That's mudslinging.

I like how probably every single Dust player that left for Planetside 2 would come running back for Dust 514 on the PS4.
Planetside 2 is pretty good gameplay-wise, but it just has no soul, and no matter how many times you win you don't actually achieve anything.
I've played it again from time to time just to do some silly shenanigans with friends, and that's fun. The issue is the game is basically a Battlefield 3 server with unlimited ticket-count, oversized maps, and modded up to 2000 players.
Funny thing is that's exactly what John Smedley said it wouldn't be back when it launched.
For further funny-factor, Sony Online Entertainment's initial plan was to finish Auraxis, then build out all the other planets in the solar system, and eventually build a multi-solar system game to rival EVE Online. He even said that CCP was doing it "backwards" by trying to make a space game and then make a shooter that interfaced with it.

Not because you have anything to lose by doing so, but simply because it makes you look silly. Good to hear you support a port though! Me too. And this is why I'm glad I got Mobius into FA. In all seriousness, they insisted that PC was their goal back in 2014 when Project Legion still existed. CCP allowed the "EVE: Legion" copyright to expire earlier this year, which is not something one does when still working on a project. Whatever they're doing now, the platform is no longer as set in stone as it used to be. I continue to support the game staying on the PlayStation Network because that is who it was intended for in the first place. Back in 2009 during the first demo of the game CCP stated their intent to bring console gamers into New Eden, people who normally wouldn't be able to experience it. I believe the support we have given Dust 514 and our continued dedication to it even when so many others have left should mean something. The people who chanted "PC MASTER RACE" in the stream chat during the Keynote are now nowhere to be seen and probably forgot the game existed, yet all of us on PSN are still here. We may not play as often, but we are the ones that continue to show dedication. The issue that Kuronaga pointed out must also be considered. Say the game moved to Windows (maybe Mac but I doubt it) and then was integrated into Aegis Sov to make it truly meaningful. Let's also say that they changed the FAction Warfare system so that we can deploy entire teams into battles of our choice, allowing us to fully collaborate with FW players. What happens when you start losing fights that control your territorial ownership to people with aimbots? Lest we forget, an aimbot causes your reticle to snap to certain shapes on your monitor, and many do not modify any game files or network traffic. Certainly you could have a reporting system for banning these players, but bans have to be reviewed. Meanwhile the people running the exploits keep re-rolling new accounts and continuing to ruin your experience. It's all well and good to namecall, but are you willing to put forward an actual solution to the problem?

How many awesome new PC games are there? How many awesome new PS3 games are there? Corelation? Consider that many of us already owns a ps4 and does not play the game as often as we used to or are not playing the game anymore but are still looking for updates and/or eventual port. I don't play since...well, I don't know...much time, but I still check the forums regularly looking for that. I know for sure, that anyone that loved the game and didn't dropped it after 3 matches really love the game and would love to play it on PS4. And all this "love" translates in big money for CCP: In case of a "fresh" restart, a wipe of SP, isk and certain asset would mean a run for boosters for the first period by both vets and those who started the game sometime after the beta and felt disadvataged toward those who already played the open beta. Also PS4 is much more affordable than a gaming PC meaning that devoted Dust 514 fans would easily keep playing the game on Playstation, while it would also let Eve fans play the game at the cost of an yearly Eve subscription. (on a side note, ps4 does not require you to pay ps+ subscription for free to play games) The "community effect" in Dust is very strong, much stronger than any other game I've ever seen: if someone really likes it, he would likely tell his friends, and if the game is good, they'd likely stick with it. Hell, all my friends have PS4s already. If Dust came out for it almost everyone I know would be jumping in.

The new format has them talk about most new content at the opening keynote so that their panels don't consist of so many "We'd show you more but we have to wait till the keynote" moments.
