Why would CCP assume this when they're reporting Dust is making money as it is?

It makes less sense to put another game on the table with the same exact content and assume the Dust player-base would keep spending on Dust, rather then save for Legion.

Because when a franchise has a future, prospects from players are higher. I personally am NOT spending money on Dust right now because the future is unclear...if that changes, I likely start spending money again. You're also making the assumption that money spent in the current game will have no benefit in future games. While this is unclear, there is nothing that says one way or another. You can infer >nothing< about a game's performance from a pre-alpha demo built in around 7 months.
