I use my BP Gal Scout more that any other suit mainly because it's cheap and effective, I pretty much always run scout and never even use the cloak. The trouble with people that don't know any better is they think that just because they are using a scout suit they NEED a cloak and that just isn't the case.

The cloak is meant and was intended as an infiltration equipment not a combat cloak regardless of what anyone says. Even the name scout means what exactly? Scouts best purpose is setting secure locations for infantry to get in safely picking off single targets which even with delay on cloak it does perfectly fine. You just cant take one more than one or two at most which u shouldnt be anyway. Ohh and hacking sneakily >:) bwahahaha. Seriously though since shotgun isnt gonna be losing rounds in its clip this cloak adjustment (not nerf) needs to stay FOR THE STATE ^(-_-) Cal Loyalist For Life

But the decloak delay is not for scouts defence, is actually thingy to improve glitch what amazingly allowed you to shots few shells from shotie before. Some time ago, when ccp implemented cloaking device there was uproar for its nerf because scouts have really big advantage to shoot you down when they were invisible. This decloak mechanism was implemented to do not allow them that, nothing else. And TBH if you cannot outrun contenders even when you are cloaked, you possibly doing something wrong. Or you maybe needs to change class. "Caller of the Monolith"

So people run the jumpy scout fit and end up punching for 700+ dmg. Pretty much the same dmg of a lot of shot guns or the weaker knives.

Yes, but so many mercs out there, especially now that they have all those slots, can HP tank to no end, and that same scout, will likely not have much HP itself, because they are using their resources for the Melee. Plus, melee has basically 0 range, and if you have any precision at all, whether Medium or Light framed, you will pick them up on tacnet before they hit you. It is a VERY niche style, and has lots of easy counters. This can only be done on a Minmatar Scout, and even if they stack Complex Dampeners AND wear a Pro Cloak for the dampening, just wearing 2 precision enhancers will mean that even cloaked they will show up on your inner tacnet ring. And then you can just jump, turn mid air, and kill the 200 HP crazy person. It really isn't the monster that you are making it out to be. If it is, or stays FotM, I will be VERY surprised. The fact that you mention that he was unable to pull out his weapon in time clearly tells me he was chasing you and never spawned at the CRU you were hacking. If he did spawn at the CRU he would have been able to fire right away from the temporary spawn cloak. That's the point.... Notice how the suit says scout not front line on it. Right now the movement issue allows scouts to close the gap too fast and use essentially OHK weapons, shotty/knives. The word Assault in a suit should imply the combat role. It's fine for scouts to defend themselves, but they are not intended as combat units. They scout and hack its a support role not combat. Every tactic has to has a counter play and shooting someone from behind while invisible allows no counter play. I love scouts as well, but right now their role confusion due to Kincats and Myos is leading to a degenerate combat enviromnet. Mid range fighters are constantly now OHKed by guys who really should not be their face. You cant even see them on your scans before you are dead. That's not fun or fair. So back to scouting not front line shotty duty.
