That's exactly what I'm pissed about. Yes, bad needles happen, this change is once again the wrong way to go about it - 1) a 'death' shouldn't be counted until the clone is terminated, 2) warpoints for a revive should require the target to stay alive a minimum amount of time.
Arbitrarily preventing people from using a piece of equipment designed to sustain pressure and save suits and clones is idiotic.
Furthermore, people cant make a request to be picked up if they get off the screen too quickly or an area is too flooded with equipment. This is an idiotic change all because KDR people whined long and hard.

Why ever fit 50-100% needles if you are only allowed to use them 'out of combat' or on people who are expected to already know what you have fit? That's kind of the point of higher tier needles - the ability to use them in combat, even in high-crossfire situations. Even low tier needles give you a *chance* if an enemy has to say reload or a person body-blocks some shots for you.
I mean I already know you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but why carry around a piece of equipment when one isn't even able to actually use it the majority of the time? I have never, ever gotten upset at a bad needle for two reasons 1) the clone isn't mine it's the teams and 2) as suit value goes up needles are inherently more valuable and the effort of attempting to save or be saved by someone is much more appreciable.

I haven't had the chance to play yet, being at work and all, but I was not inspired by the chenges when I read them in the patch notes.
Have i picked up people only to have them die? Absolutely? Did I do it intentionally? Sometimes.
If it's an important fight, Iweigh the pros and cons of coming to try and pick you up. Am I going to die on the way there? If not, can I successfully pick you up without either of us dying?
If I answer NO to either of those questions, I'm not coming to get you. The only time that changes is if I'm on voice comms with a team mate and he's telling me to come anyways.
Why bother, as a logi, to carry a needle anymore? Most people don't request help, even when they want it. My 80% and 100% needles show no differently than a 30% needle to someone dying, how do they know I'm not a scrub logi?
I'm sure, in time, people will adjust to needing to request pickup. I hope.
IMO, the proper fix would have been a instant bleed out button instead of a ask for revive. Death screen doesn't appear until you've bled out, or is adjusted so you can still see the game with the death info subtly around you, NOT taking up the entire screen. Lastly, a death isn't counted until you're actually dead, not just incapacitated on the ground.
Anyways, it is what it is for the time being. Hopefully it will level itself out. If not, I hope Rattati and team take another look and adjust as necessary.

It wasnt minor it was abused big time, btw what is wrong on new "call4help"mechanique, its basicaly same only prewenting fishing SP, nothing else. Cooperative players will want take back to battle if they will see its save and its good mechanic even for you -> He dont call ergo there is someone!!

At which point I will argue per your original post:
"That's not as big of a problem as it's made out to be honestly."
And further elaborate by saying, this buffs needles. No longer am I rushing to revive an ally, only to be inches away from reviving him and finding out that they never wanted to be revived in the first place, and they are respawning elsewhere.

Aborting a Baby has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Besides, abortion is legal in all 50 US states thanks to Roe vs Wade.
Assisted Suicide, however, is what I was talking about. It is legal only in 5 states ( I missed one). OR, WA, MT, VT, and NM allow for doctor assisted suicide.

Absolutely amazing that players think they have the "right" to resus. You choose to run with needles instead of gun. Fine, no problem. Hope you get lots of WP, seriously.
However, it is MY choice to be resus. Period. I don't need to feed your WP with my deaths, repeatedly. That's kinda like telling a raspberry to stand still so I can repeatedly shoot 'em down, just for the WP.
Remember, you chose to be a Medic, I did not choose you to be one. And dying repeatedly doesn't get me any WP, but choosing to die quickly and return to fight more does.

I think the change would have gone over easier if it had been done a little differently. Instead of making the call for help mandatory, they should have added a "terminate" button instead. That way someone who doesn't want a revive could move on, but new or cautions players could still be available if a logi spawns millisecond before they redeploy.
I understand the situation isnt always idea, but to be honest, i kind of like it when im about to redeploy and blow more ISK on a suit....and get revived. Sometimes it happens perfectly where I get a last second revive in a 80,000ISK suit and I can then limp to a supply depot and resuit. Now im going to have to sit there and "call for help" for 20 seconds. |

I think I'm just going to remove all equipment from all of my characters for the next few weeks. Any time I need something I'm just going to turn around and walk back to the supply depot in my redline. If there isn't one, or it's been blown up I'm just going to afk the rest of the match. If I see a friendly nanohive I'll stand on it and throw grenades till it runs out.
People within this game are so antagonistic towards anyone actually trying to be of assistance that its prettymuch a situation where I'm ready to throw my hands up in the air.
It's astonishingly and truly frightening the amount of people are seriously missing the problem and the point here, because 'hurf durf KDR' & 'one time I got revived and it was awful'

:) In reality, I DO appreciate Logical Logi action. I just don't see that often. Don't give it up, just change it up a bit. Raspberries (including myself) will always watch for that member being resus'd just to get that easy kill (and, admittedly, it does give me a bit of a chuckle when they repeatedly get resus'd and shot back down).
And, I don't ever worry about how someone else views my gameplay. It's my game, I'll play it the way I want to. As I expect everyone else to do.
So to all Logi's -- thank you for resus'n me when I'm not under heavy fire !

I always got way more points from a repair tool than an injector, to the point where I often just didn't carry one unless people in my squad were planning to use really nice gear and stick together. I'm not sure that I really agree with the change though, even if it does put and end to tubthumping (killing a friendly then reviving him over and over) which was an extremely rare occurrence and did nothing but damage the pride of the victim. Who frequently deserved it.
What this is probably going to do is further dumb down the strategic part of pub battles, where the conservation of clones and equipment matters. The KDR chasers will always let themselves bleed out while being completely ignorant of the fact that they're hurting their team and that there's a dude with a 100% heal needle right behind them. These things are what makes using really expensive gear viable.

Remove needle change. Re-create an anti-nanite injector abuse mechanism A person who revives a player with an injector will not get the warpoints from doing so until the other player has survived at least 3 or so seconds. If they have survived less then 3 or so seconds the reviver will not be given warpoints and no one will be able to revive that player's clone for the same amount of time it needed to stay alive (3 seconds)
Problem solved. KD/R whores can go commit seppuku to ruin the ratio for all we care.
Yes it's going to be an extremely bad change and further disbalance logistics gameplay. But you're wasting your time, Mina. Don't stress yourself that much. Besides that some people will just be trolling you on this post.

True enough. But personally its not KDR that gets me annoyed about being needled...... it's the genuine lack of thought this other players has put into the whole exercise.
God knows I appreciate your bravery and nerves of steel for rushing to my aid under fire...... but seriously why are you resuscitating me if we are both very likely to die instantly. It's now not the loss of one clone its probably 2.

Is there even a negative to getting revived only to get killed instantly? Best case if getting revived in crossfire is you save a suit and the team a clone. Worst case? You're right back where you were before the revive.

Your specific take on it might be that it is murder, but that's irrelevant to this discussion. Also, aborting a Baby has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Besides, abortion is legal in all 50 US states thanks to Roe vs Wade. Assisted Suicide, however, is what I was talking about. It is legal only in 5 states ( I missed one). OR, WA, MT, VT, and NM allow for doctor assisted suicide. That's where my (now edited) "Not according to 45 of the 50 United States" comment came from. Also: Joke Your head. Oh,if that's what your talking about then i can tell you why. We are all born slaves.
Consider the following: -you are assigned your name, you don't choose it -you are assigned a number (in the US,your SSN) -you are tax deductible (like a business expense such as a car) -you are forced to follow 'rules' (laws) that you never agreed to -if you disobey those "rules",taskmasters are sent after you to hurt you and have permission from a third party you don't even know to kill you if you refuse them and try to remain free -these taskmasters can then throw you into a cage (like an animal) -the taskmasters decide when you can leave said cage,if you try to leave early they will kill you -there is no such thing as selfdefense when it comes to taskmasters,if you try to defend yourself they only get more violent -taskmasters are seen as "Heros" and any that disagree are automatically "villians"
So you see, just because you can't see the bars,it doesn't mean they aren't there. You are owned, which is why you need your masters permission to do self harm. This permission is laws.

Even as a dedicated logi I think this is a good idea, although I haven't had a chance to play 1.9 yet as the download is acting fishy for me. I like the idea for several reasons, be prepared to read this list.
1. Needle spammers. 2. Clueless though genuinely trying to help logi players 3. Someone wanted to change suits after death to a suit that will actually help the situation but NOPE, got rez. 4. Someone isnt aware enough of game mechanics to know there is a "call for help" button so they probably cant read, or cant shoot, and therefore deserve to die. 5. Im holding off on calling for help because I can see the area around my body, or my body is providing passive scans to my squad so it just isnt the right time to rush in and pick me up. 6. Five is a decent amount of reasons for now.
Ideally the option to either call for help, or get needled and choose to revive on your own allows most smart players to better control the flow of their own battles a bit better, rather than just randomly being thrust back into whatever situation falls on their heads and being forced to freestyle to safety. It is just a generally smarter choice at this stage in the game.

Nice logic, MINA. Protip: flaming people and demonstrating self-centered thinking reduces credibility. Even if you're right, I'm not inclined to see your point with that attitude of yours. It's just how debates work. "I'm going to disregard all the points you've made, call you self centered and then claim you're wrong even if you're right because I don't like that you feel this treats the symptom not the problem". You sure are good at debating yourself.
Sorry I'm late. :)
-I didn't disregard your points, I'm nitpicking about your aggressive presentation of such points. Which makes it difficult to see the points you're making. Again, that's how debates work.
-I'm calling you self-centered because you drew conclusions purely on your own accounts of the situation. This is an unreliable way to form valid complaints.
-I never claimed you were wrong. If it looks that way, it's just bad wording. I do it a lot. No one can make the claim that you're right or wrong, since this is day 1 of 1.9. Always wait for things to smooth over before drawing conclusions.
-I never inputted anything about the problem itself or it's symptoms.
I may not be good at debating, but you're not much better off.

Why?
Because silly blueberries would revive in the line of fire
Last match I played before 1.9, I sat behind a moe hill and just farmed this guy. Blueberry kept on reviving the heavy.
tat,tat,tat,tat,tat, tat!
He came back on to revive heavy
tat,tat,tat,tat,tat, tat!
He was going to do it again, but I shot the guy just to save the poor chap being revived over and over, the fustration.
So um, yea...wait for the call for help logi. That's it. Bad farming logis has impacted this game long enough.

Why ever fit 50-100% needles if you are only allowed to use them 'out of combat' or on people who are expected to already know what you have fit? A 'dead' sentinel picked up with 80% shields and armor can handily stop a whole advance and that's kind of the point of higher tier needles - the ability to use them in combat, even in high-crossfire situations. Hhmmmm whiny and condescending. I think few will agree with your plight. |

Not hitting the 'help' button is the exact same thing as denying a revive. I run 50-80% needles on a lot of fits, not being able to revive people who are safe feels ****ing terrible. Not everyone is like you and when people use poor judgment attempting to help team mates again and again is takes away from the enjoyment of the game. Also in consideration you complain because people are denying YOU points because they do not wish for your assistance. |

If not, then I have no idea what you're talking about. Even if that was the case...you'd still be giving the other team a lot more wp's if you have dumbass people picking up mercs in **** poor conditions. Well said! |

Furthermore, people cant make a request to be picked up if they get off the screen too quickly or an area is too flooded with equipment. This is an idiotic change all because KDR people whined long and hard. If we were to do this your way, then you would have to add the anti-boosting bits too. So it would be: 1) A 'death' shouldn't be counted until the clone is terminated. 2) A "kill" shouldn't be counted unless the clone is terminated. 3) War Points for a revive should require the target to stay alive a minimum amount of time. 4) War Points for a kill shouldn't be counted until the clone is terminated. And even then, you should still be able to opt out (as opposed to the "opting in" for the revive approach currently deployed). Getting revived should still be the ultimate decision of the player dealing with a situation, and at a minimum an easy access suicide button should always be at the ready to help block trolls.
You're right, I missed a few 'anti-boosting' points. This is exactly how the system should be. The only nitpick I have is that you should still get points for attempting to revive someone who ends up not accepting it anyways, because hey, you did actually stick them with the needle.

^Not even sure where about 3/4 of that is coming from.
What I'm saying is that they took a system that for the most part worked - it wasn't perfect, it needed some improvements, but it worked - and it was thrown out the window to largely cater to people who whined about KDR. Now speaking as someone with some programming experience you do not ever throw away something that works, unless it is so screwed up it needs a complete rethink/redesign from the ground up and even then you try to preserve as much of the original as possible, ie. you don't ever, ever break functionality if you cannot help it.
Yes I've spouted some vitriol about these changes, however being angry about something doesn't mean the arguments I've made do not have any merit, that's attacking a characteristic of the person making the argument not disproving the argument itself.
And If anything parkour, I'm prejudiced against people in general. Misanthropy is a thing.

I can agree with that Mina. For the most part it wasn't broken but at times the part that was brokencompletely outweigh the usefulness of it. I think more people then they admitcare about KDR, but i dont think thats the problem.
I think the problem is the incompetence of the majority and greed. Id rather have accept revive decline revive like in BF.
I think this current way is better, but like the old one could use tweaking. I take extreme offensive to attacks verbal or otherwise of autistics people whether there aware they have autism and what it means or not. Im getting help with it but as you can see its a work in progress.

I looked that **** up im more of cynical myself. I have autism but also anti-social and have little faith in the human race.
Is it spectrum autism? Like Asperger's? I'm sorry if you felt that I was attacking you. It's one thing to be frustrated about game mechanics or to express anger over someone's behaviour (in short, my issues with various CPM are with them alone) but another completely to attack a person over whatever disorders they might have - I myself suffer from an anger disorder and fall within the 10% lifetime persistence group and an ongoing struggle with chronic depression (13+ years now), both diagnosed professionally but with limited treatment success.

It's not about disproving an argument, it's about your presentation of it. It's human nature to *decide* to switch off and ignore the points someone makes when they are presented at the same time as attacking people and coming across as unwilling to listen and reason.
If people see you being unreasonable (note: it's their perception that defines unreasonable here, not yours), then it's easy to decide that the thought process that led you to your belief in what you're saying is also unreasonable.
Even if the people being attacked in some way "deserve" it, not only is that quite subjective, but that's just lowering it to their level, and then the whole debate devolves into silliness. Stay on the bridge above the trolls ;-)
As for the changes, why not see how it pans out over the new few weeks as people grow used to it all? Personally I do not believe that somebody who wants to be revived won't know how to ask for help. Anyone who doesn't know about it probably also doesn't know how to be smart post-revival.
You must learn honor, or you deserve to learn nothing at all.
