False advertisement / Fraud
They announced this as a supported product connected with Eve and today announced that support and connection will be severed. They also proved this has been a long-standing goal by stating that they had pulled most of the Dust 514 development team four months ago and left only a skeleton team behind. This entire period they have been selling packages and acting as if they are actively developing the game with your money. Instead, that money is now going to a game which is not playable on your (and Sony's) PS3.

I got denied, but I think that my problem was in how I expressed my desire for a refund.

Make sure to ask for a supervisor if the front-line support personnel turn you down! I was told the same thing, but the answer reversed when I spoke to the man's boss.
It's not malicious or anything, it's just the grunts really are told to say "I'm sorry I can't do that" for anything they don't have written in their handbooks, and it's true, they can't.
The argument I made was that the game was advertised as an MMOFPS to be continually developed and iterated upon (and still is advertised in such a manner bee tee dubs) when in fact development has ceased and the only future updates will be along the lines of bug-fixes. Actual new content development and generation has halted, therefore the game as it is today has radically shifted from what it was last week when I dropped more money on it.
I was baited, CCP switched.

Have you asked to speak with a supervisor?
Are you requesting refunds for transactions in the last 90 days?
Are you specifying that you'd like the amount returned to your PSN wallet, and not charged back directly to your bank account/credit card?
Plenty of us have been assured we will have our refunds, I'd like to figure out why some are having issues so that they can be addressed and everyone who wants their money back can get it.

If you've spent money on aurum, call 1-800-345-SONY as soon as possible. They can and will refund transactions for aurum as far back as three months.
If, like me you've purchased a booster, some weapons or suits, anything in the last three months and you want your money back in light of today's "announcements" regarding DUST, Sony will reimburse to your PSN wallet the amounts spent.
You may be told by the first line of support staff that this isn't possible, but it absolutely is. Just ask to speak to the representative's supervisor and they will start the refund process, which will take 3-5 days.
I just had it done, my thanks to supervisor D***** (rest of name withheld to protect the awesome!)
Now I absolutely expect and understand that CCP has the right to deny access to DUST 514 in light of my having done this, no company likes dealing with a charge-back, which this essentially is. Anyone who takes advantage of this process needs to understand and accept the potential for service denial/character deletion as well.
It's not much of a stand, but I'll take it. CCP can be on the receiving end of broken promises for once. You have no reason for returning your purchases, if I were SONY I would deny all these requests. What?
Signature that says stuff.

I called and was on phone for over 40 minutes with PS3. There is nothing they will do about this because they know nothing about it!!!! No refund!!!!! They said call back in 3-4 days and they might know more about it then. They "noted" my frustration over the game going to PC, but will do nothing else until they know more. |

Results seem to be pretty split between those of us who spoke to representatives on the phone and those who used the live chat. You guys seem to be getting much more wishy-washy answers. By chance did you request a supervisor?
Everyone be aware of this, though. At least in the U.S.A. you have to right to initiate a charge-back directly through your bank/credit card company, for most purchases up to a year past.
This WILL refund the money to you (unless the company you're initiating the charge-back against files for arbitration, even then you're likely to win), but when all's said and done CCP will probably never want to do business with you again, and SONY might not either.
So think carefully before deciding to utilize that option, but be aware that it IS an option.

I would call them back, were I you. Get a different supervisor, make it clear that the game has radically shifted it's development focus (to one of... not developing anymore) and withheld notice of this shift in focus from its playerbase while still selling in-game items as if nothing had changed.
Also, make mention that you will be getting your money back, through your credit card company/bank if you need to in the form of a charge-back. Tell them you understand that doing so will sour your relationship with SONY and you'd be much happier if SONY would just refund the amount to your PSN wallet so that you can spend the money on other services SONY offers, but you're willing to potentially end your business relationship with them if it means getting your money back.
Or something to that effect. Most companies are willing to do a little extra if it means keeping a customer, even a disgruntled one, rather than losing their business altogether.

There is one thing that concerns me with this. Given the enormous amount of money I've put in here, I'd take a refund, even if it was only 90 days. The thing that makes me think twice is that what if CCP comes back with a suit of their own based upon their EULA or their version of what was delivered for what was paid out?

Best they can do is arbitration, which in most cases isn't decided in favor of the merchant or service provider. Something like 20% of charge-back arbitration doesn't work out for the customer. The rest of the time the customer wins, and in most cases it never makes it to arbitration because the merchant doesn't want to deal with the hassle.
I recommend everyone that wants a refund to keep at it, call back and try another representative, if you're dead set on your refund than initiate a charge-back through your credit card provider or bank.
If you feel you have been swindled and didn't get fair value for your purchase, don't give up on the first call. Stand up and make a fuss until you can't be ignored. A polite, genial fuss, but a fuss!

"All DLC purchases are final" was the quote she used.
So I'm submitting a ticket.
If they decline that, I'll send a message to the CEO of CCP and tell him that I want a refund, and that this terrible customer service I have received has killed all my faith in CCP, and that I will tell everyone I possibly can NOT to buy from CCP in the future.

Try again, get a different supervisor. Make your case as you've already done.
It would seem based upon the testimonials of the last few people to do this, that CCP and SONY have had a talk with each-other since sometime yesterday. And that SONY might be backing up CCP going forward. All speculation mind, but that's how it seems.
Regardless, call back. Do it again, this time tell them (if you're serious, and you absolutely want your money back above all else) that SONY can refund you, or your credit card company/bank can refund you.
In the first case, SONY holds onto your money and you spend it again on something else that SONY offers.
In the second, SONY loses your money period, and you'll spend it elsewhere.
Just know however, that SONY can refuse to do business with you in the future if you do this.
CALL 1-800-345-SONY. PRESS '2' AND THEN '2' AGAIN. AURUM PURCHASES CAN BE REFUNDED WITHIN 90 DAYS!
