I expect to see some folks run it because they are new and have no choice, but there's a shockingly high number of people who never actually edit any of their fittings, regardless of how long they've played.
Is this due to
A) Stupidity and lack of knowledge that customization is possible?
B) Stupidity and lack of awareness that better equipment improves your odds of winning?
C) Stupidity and lack of balls concerning the fear of loss?
D) Stupidity and WHY ARE YOU DRIVING AWAY LET ME IN YOUR TANK DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR |

Not everyone has the luxury of squatting on districts for free ISK out the wazoo. If you die more than once in a pub with proto you LOSE money. Eventually becoming flat BROKE. I don't see why this is so hard to understand.

Because it is surprisingly effective and amazingly cheap. I can't afford to run proto all the time like the ISK farmers in Planetary Conquest. My main source of income is Pub matches.

They'd be too scared to run solo and in the marginal chance they did, they'd wimp out once they got pubstomped by O.H. or some other corp.

I'm starting to see this trend also. Let's face it. No one can make money with out PC. Also Why go 16-3 with proto when I can do the same with sh!t fits. I run proto also and with all the imbalances its not worth it

I run solo 99.9% of the time. You run advanced the majority of the time, run proto when you want to have some fun smacking people around. That's how you make money and kill those people. |

I have 2 racial Proto Heavies, but still just use the MLT.
Why?
Because pub payouts ******* suck.
I could run Proto and Advanced fittings, die 3 times and be "in the red", financially speaking.
I can run my MLTs, get the same number of Kills, a few more Deaths, and rake in the ISK like my district is Locked.
Putting the MO-4 Assault HMG back on the Killfeed one Merc at a time.

Those bonuses are so overrated anyway. If you can dance in a Heavy, know where you cover is, and be aware of your surroundings, the MLT really isn't bad. Not overloaded and slowed with Plates and apparently doesn't show up on a lot of Passive scans.

militia suit can be effective if you fit it right. heck any militia suit can be. if you cant.....well umm i seggest running militia till u get better before you go back to proto...theres nothing wrong with going solo im sure, but dnt let that pride get to you in battle because you can screw up that way

It takes just 5 deaths to pull negative from a 250,000 ISK payout, which is about average, if you win.
Now bear in mind the lack of logi users nowadays, unless you have support like yourself, it's not exactly difficult.
But your entire attitude throughout this post matches the same as every other stomper, why aren't people bothering to fight my unbridled use of spam or FOTM?
