either i really REALLY suck at the combat rifle or it does not work that well for me. same with the rail rifle, i am either very good at using it or it just rapes when i use it and i almost never die by them. |

I've seen the same exact post but replace RR with CR.
One things for sure, Aint nobody complaining about the Plasma AR anymore which everybody said was OP a month ago and both CR and RR are better than it. That says it all right there. |

Seriously. I was all for an Assault Rifle fix but now people are saying it needs a buff to compete with the RR and CR which put it to shame.
If a former OP weapon gets outshined by another weapon, using common sense, what does that say about the latter weapon
Also completely forget about using another weapon that doesn't have the name "Rifle" in it. |

CCP has yet to release a balanced weapon or equipment in a new patch...Flaylocks were OP, Scrambler Rifles were somewhat OP, Rail Rifle and Combat Rifle are OP, Active Scanners are OP.
Except the Plasma Cannon, that thing never had a chance from the get go. |

I believe the issue is with the Assault variations that are full auto. They become overpowered. I rarely see anyone play with the non-assault combat rifles. |

I tried a Plasma Cannon to see if I wanted my skill points to go into it, and I've concluded everything I can already use is much much much better. |

Small Rails have never been viable up until 1.7.
When Active Scanners First came out there had to be removed from the game entirely becausethey didn't work at all. |

I dusted off my Boundless combat rifle and I would hit someone once or twice and it would lag for a sec then they would instantly die and I would see a plus 50 and the Six Kin is a submachine gun on steroids.

Whelp I can appreciate using a rocket launcher as a main. I will agree that it's very difficult to use, also I've been gone awhile so I don't know what changes have been made to it. Again I've been out of the loop. When you say plasma rifle, you mean the Gallente AR?

Funny , im a pretty average player and i never have problems with RR or CR.
I use a CDR-9 Scrambler rifle on a 400 HP amarr assault.
Maybe because i dont run foolishly in the open...just maybe......

Yeah, you mean like in November when I said the RR has too good of accuracy and thus asked why a long range weapon had such good CQC?? results: got told to STFU by Iron Wolf Saber saying how was I able to know if the 1.7 build was not deployed yet.
In November I posted about tanks outrunning swarms. results: got called a liar by many.
In November I posted the laser was going to be DEAD in 1.7 results: got called a liar.
I even posted about specific fedback subforums and got a blue response saying it was a good idea. results: nothing.

I guess my broad question would be are we really talking about nerfing the CR and RR or do we just need to increase the ARs DPS in CQC?
I also notice that not many folks are bleating about the SCR...that weapon can still fillet a proto dropsuit in a heartbeat. I'm also pretty sure that if the AR gets a head start on the RR due to the charge time and in real terms delivers more DPS for for the first magazine...anybody calculating that in?
I can't see the need to support any buff / nerfs till we get all the equipment, weapons, dropsuits w/ new stats and perks in. I would actually like to see full racial suites of gear and balance things out in a more holistic fashion. We are focusing waaay too much on simple manipulating stats of the individual weapons.
I'm pretty tired of folks investing SP into items that are in a continual up and down cycle of nerf / buff. I did drop serious SP in the RR very earlier on...primarily because it was Caldari, I like longer range playstyles, and it WASN'T the AR. I am partial the RR but the bottom line is that I want ALL the racial rifles and to a bigger extent the full racial suite of gear to be functional and give diverse options to the players.

but scrambler rifle is still better than both even close range... proficiency 5 a stand scrambler does 100+ damage per shot without charge to ARMOR.
