I don't have the Vehicle BPO's so i don't have any special interest in the 1.7 changes.
There are several valid points on both sides. Of those opposing the change, I bet most are NOT terribly upset their losing modules they probably don't use anyway.
They are losing an infinite use item (even if it's bad) that may have had significantly more value when the player market opens. It has been replaced with AUR and the ability to buy only finite resources. I don't see why many miss the valid point of the players who are upset. That doesn't excuse the manic whining we've seen the last few days, but also doesn't invalidate their points.
CCP could easily create equivalent BPO's for the new skills, however they are taking the chance to knock out a class of BPO's while they can.
I also don't see how modules that are generally accepted as bad are considered "game breaking". If CCP would stop introducing new ones (looking at you templar codes) there would be a finite supply that would have a reduced impact as the player base grew. There is a level of risk for everyone, some more than others. That is also true based on skill.
I doubt CCP reverses course on this, but it could have been handled better. |

Erm, what?
There has been no issue with the other BPOs, I don't see any post from CCP stating "Hey guys, it turns out LAVs, Suits, Weapons and every module with a BPO doesn't actually fit into our design any where, so we're removing them all", so there are no other removals.
They came out with a statement that has been truthful, there are legit reasons for removing those four BPOs because their modules don't exist or fit in the new vehicle design any more, what else is annoying is the fact that the people that are getting mad are the people the don't use vehicles regularly, it's ludicrous.
That doesn't make any sense. There are no grounds for further removals UNLESS the entire range of modules are being removed, if CCP comes out and says "Hey guys, we're removing all weapon BPOs" then yes, you all have a right to get mad, because that would be removing BPOs because BPOs not because it doesn't fit with the game any more.
Deceitful way? No a deceitful way would be removing the BPOs and then telling us about it, they've made a thread about them removing these four BPOs and how you'll be refunded, how else do you want them to tell you? A newsletter/post a year ahead of time? Would that be long enough for you to not think you've been backstabbed or something? No, CCP have been fair with this, more than fair.
- BPOs are still permanent unless they don't fit in with the rest of the game, I mean if an entire branch of items are being removed, you're not going to keep the BPO because NOBODY else will be able to have that item and it'll break the system. -They're removing four items, because they don't fit with the game anymore, see above. -The rest of the BPOs are fine, see above. -Erm, you can get the BPOs of them already (well could) so really it's just an incentive for a final chance at getting an exclusive type.

I have provided no math, CCP did all that for us and made the design decisions then.
You can uninstall the golden pod implant and they get destroyed, also before implantation it can be stolen, destroyed, scammed and all sorts of misfortunes.
Rookies ships are a service, you can trash them easily and a new one WILL NOT SPAWN as long as you are in that station.
Starter fits have been deleted before in this game by CCP (they were also once upon a time bought and NOT provided), its subjection to deletion again.
So do you even think about what developers have to go through in making a game thats live? all these points don't refute mine only bolster them... bpos can be deleted to, if you delete you account so the other items I mentioned are just as permanent as bpo's. call rookie ships what ever fancy name you want, you said nothing was permanent in new eden and you were proven wrong. sounds like you don't know the math so you cant explain why bpo's are bad, you are just parroting ccp with no real info. what about what I have to go through to earn the money I spent on this game? why are you so far up ccp's posterior?
IWS talks about Games & Development as if he knows something while he in fact does not. LOL CCP Parrot. Even the newer guys get it....nothing new here, moving on. |

HOWEVER, there are a couple that don't even function any more due to the massive change of 1.7, So instead of making them completely useless and letting you keep them, they will remove them and give you the FULL refund, are you telling me you bought Aurum for these exact BPOs? Because they're ******* awful and nobody uses them anyways you terribad. Just one point. Taking away an infinite use item and refunding the AUR is not a refund if the only items now available are single use. It fails by any definition. Looking at it from a Real life perspective. I go to a shop regularly, I buy a chocolate bar which cost's -ú0.60 every day alongside other grocery items. I discover that this store offers unlimited supply of Chocolate bars for -ú100 I pay the -ú100 because who wants to pay -ú0.60 for a single bar? After a few months the store realizes it's made a mistake and informs me that they've had to remove my unlimited amount of chocolate bars, but as a gesture of good will are offering -ú100 store credit, due to store policy of no refunds, to spend on anything in the store despite the fact I've eaten my way through atleast 10 times that. Instead of taking my -ú100 credit, despite it being enough to buy plenty of chocolate bars and I was going to spend a lot more up to this point any ways as I enjoy the chocolate, I refuse, stamp my feet and cry about, and then take it to court, lose, get laughed at and actually lose more money for court costs.

I fail to see how it is "terrible and falls flat in every way", So because I'm a Vehicle User I should be ashamed I'm okay with them removing four useless blueprints? Erm, you understand 1.7 is changing many things, of which I believe they're removing the branch of which the BPOs belong too, so your example is flawed, sorry. If however every Shield Extender was removed the game then it would be expected to be removed. In the case of your Assault Rifle being CHANGED, you would keep your blueprints, however if the Assault Rifle was REMOVED from the game, you'd get an aurum refund. :)
Oh and I'm not defending BPOs, I was in favour of them removing every BPO and giving an Aurum refund, I also created like three threads since closed beta asking for the Starter Fits to be removed (EXCEPT ONE, a suit with no modules and just a Militia variant of your races weapon.)

Yes, Vehicle users buy their modules (Hi, I buy my modules), but BPOs allow use to significantly cut costs, I have a fit that is all BPO for my Gunnlogi, and it's a A.I Tank, so while it doesn't really match up against other tanks I can still waste lots of Infantry for about 250k. And because I'm not an idiot this tank can last for 5 matches very easily, mainly because I'll run to the Redline as soon as I get damaged. so 250k for a tank that earns me a minimum of 150k a match, despite losing every match and getting about 10 kills. No real risk compared to my 1.3mil Tank that would take me more than 5 games to get the cost back.
And as one of those people that paid 30 Aur (not 50 xD) I don't really mind getting 50 or 4800, but the 4800 makes it feel like it's CCP's way of saying "Hey you, thanks for supporting us in the beta, before all these randoms got here and started crying about losing their BPOs and threatening to take us to court or some ****." So yeah :)
lol... so you admit your bpo tank isn't competitive, you admit you are making profit on this deal... of course your not upset. your biased and making out like a bandit.... And mate, I don't even use Aurum so I don't give a damn, I wouldn't care if they gave me the 30 Aurum back. If CCP could find a way to see who bought their modules at a certain price, sure go for it. I'm not biased, more I want a risk game, I want a reason to log on and I want a reason to not want to die other than my KDR. Edit: lol, you spent 500$ on a free game? LOL. Right, well we started out arguing about CCP doing a 180 on their BPO "policy", in which CCP Logibro stated that they weren't going to remove BPOs - https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=116404
Hey all,
We just wanted to clarify statements made about the removal of BPOs.
We are in the process of removing BPOs from the market. We have already removed them from the in game market, and we will eventually be removing them from packs available on the PSN Store. We are not removing any existing BPOs from any player inventories and there are no plans to do so. BPOs are currently not functioning as intended so we are looking at the way they work in game.
Again, we would like to reiterate that they will not be removed from any inventories
Now, one must assume that the OP thought that the 180 was due to the fact that when 1.7 is released it will be removing four BPOs - https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1513116
4800 AUR Militia 180mm Reinforced Steel Plates Blueprint 4800 AUR Militia Shield Regenerator Blueprint 4800 AUR Militia Shield Resistance Amplifier 4800 AUR Militia Power Diagnostic System Blueprint
The OP would go on to complain that it was unfair that he was only being refunded the Aurum, he wanted either his money back for the aurum he spent, or an item of "equivalent value" (Which rereading that has just made me realize CCP should give the OP four Exile Rifle BPOs, right?)
The gist of nearly every reply from the OP was about how it was unfair to be removing these four BPOs and that getting only Aurum for it back was an outrage, not only this he had a bone to pick with the Vets who purchased the BPOs at 30 Aurum. He also says something about CCP lying, when they clearly have not, they've removed four BPOs that don't fit into the system anymore and given you a refund.
Your post mentioned several things, such as how CCP has the grounds to remove all BPOs, which has actually always been the case, if CCP wanted to remove all the BPOs they could just do it, there is no physical force stopping them and it's well within their rights to do so and just give you an aurum refund (read terms and ****), but they've approached it from a different way, rather than remove every BPO in the game, they'll remove the ones that don't fit with the game (see vehicle modules for details) and let you keep the ones that won't be changed.
You then go on to say how CCP are deceitful, which I argued you were wrong about, because there is nothing from CCP about being deceitful;
noun [mass noun] the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth: a web of deceit hypocrisy and deceit were anathema to her [count noun]: a series of lies and deceits
CCP didn't hide the truth, they haven't made a series of posts lying about it nor have they mislead us in anyway about BPOs so again I disagree with your idea they were deceitful.
Alright, TBBT time, soz guy, but yeah, I get your argument, I don't much care for your side of it nor do I agree with any of the points any of you have made at all, and Luca, refer to earlier post, kthx.

It's not when they tell you they're not removing BPOs, and then realize that they have to remove four minor ones to help fix the Vehicle side of the game, then make a post explaining that they're removing and refunding these four BPOs due to them not fitting in with the vehicles any more.
What would be deceitful is saying they're not removing BPOs and then doing it without a word.

I like how this idiot doesn't realize that the only reason I cant fit it is because ccp CHOSE to make the bpo;s obsolete when there could have been another way that doesn't make what I purchased useless.
and that aur is not a compensation of equal value since permanent items no longer exist on the market.

ccp said they are not removing bpos and then without warning put into the expansion removal of some bpo's. the expansion is as good as done. where was the warning that they were putting this in the expansion after they made the statement they would not remove bpos. the patch notes are not a notice that they are removing bpos, they are a notice that bpo's have been removed. the fact the expansion is not out at this time is irrelevant because bpo removal has already been coded into it so is as good as already removed from our inventories. the patch notes is not a warning period if it has already been done
so yes they deceived us by not warning us before they added it to the expansion

Which of course he didn't, they have been shown this many times yet they cannot seem to hear with their heads so far up their own asses. Logic fails these crusaders. |

No, some people are just stubborn :) I disagree with your argument and I think you're wrong, that doesn't make me dumb, it doesn't make you dumb. how can you possibly disagree with our argument when you don't have the slightest clue what we are going on about about. Right, well we started out arguing about CCP doing a 180 on their BPO "policy", in which CCP Logibro stated that they weren't going to remove BPOs - https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=116404Hey all,
We just wanted to clarify statements made about the removal of BPOs.
Again, we would like to reiterate that they will not be removed from any inventoriesNow, one must assume that the OP thought that the 180 was due to the fact that when 1.7 is released it will be removing four BPOs - https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=15131164800 AUR Militia 180mm Reinforced Steel Plates Blueprint 4800 AUR Militia Shield Regenerator Blueprint 4800 AUR Militia Shield Resistance Amplifier 4800 AUR Militia Power Diagnostic System BlueprintThe OP would go on to complain that it was unfair that he was only being refunded the Aurum, he wanted either his money back for the aurum he spent, or an item of "equivalent value" (Which rereading that has just made me realize CCP should give the OP four Exile Rifle BPOs, right?) The gist of nearly every reply from the OP was about how it was unfair to be removing these four BPOs and that getting only Aurum for it back was an outrage, not only this he had a bone to pick with the Vets who purchased the BPOs at 30 Aurum. You then go on to say how CCP are deceitful, which I argued you were wrong about, because there is nothing from CCP about being deceitful; noun [mass noun] the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth: a web of deceit hypocrisy and deceit were anathema to her [count noun]: a series of lies and deceitsCCP didn't hide the truth, they haven't made a series of posts lying about it nor have they mislead us in anyway about BPOs so again I disagree with your idea they were deceitful. Alright, TBBT time, soz guy, but yeah, I get your argument, I don't much care for your side of it nor do I agree with any of the points any of you have made at all, and Luca, refer to earlier post, kthx. Good points. The op just feels butthurt about it. Even though we all know its fair he feels entitled to ask for more....yes I believe in a post I made on the subject he stated that his time wasn't free.
