nobody cares about 4 insignificant modules. fair enough. but what about lav bpo's, suit bpo's and every other bpo that people use to augment their fits. people definitely care about these modules because there was massive uproar about their removal after eve vegas.
the whole reason ccp came out with the statement was to calm the community. we all relaxed as soon as the statement came out and continued our daily carnage meanwhile ccp goes ahead and plans for their removal while we are all preoccupied with events and a false sense of security.
it may have started with a few insignificant items but now ccp have grounds to remove all bpos. we buy them from packs, off the market get given them as gifts but as ccp have now proven they will remove them from our inventory without warning. nothing is safe anymore. bpo's, that so called safe investment costing significant amounts of money are now far from it. people have potentially wasted hundreds on something that ccp can delete at will and then refund us with aurum we didn't want in the first place.
the problem here is not the removal of bpo's so much as the deceitful way ccp has gone about doing it. the statement is irrefutable no matter what you say."will not remove inventory" yet they did it a few weeks later. all changes to dust are set in motion months before we get the patch notes. this means the statement given was after they had already made the decision to remove bpos yet they still said they would not.
-bpo is a permanent item yet apparently not anymore
-will not remove bpo's from inventory yet they are doing so anyway
-we are removing bpo's from the market so buy them now while you can, oh but we are going to delete them in a few weeks
-bpo's are a problem so we are trying to get rid of new sources yet they still release them in in collectors editions etc and encourage people to buy them.
i can't believe people don't see this worrying trend of ccp lying to us and not just about bpo's
Erm, what?
There has been no issue with the other BPOs, I don't see any post from CCP stating "Hey guys, it turns out LAVs, Suits, Weapons and every module with a BPO doesn't actually fit into our design any where, so we're removing them all", so there are no other removals.
They came out with a statement that has been truthful, there are legit reasons for removing those four BPOs because their modules don't exist or fit in the new vehicle design any more, what else is annoying is the fact that the people that are getting mad are the people the don't use vehicles regularly, it's ludicrous.
That doesn't make any sense. There are no grounds for further removals UNLESS the entire range of modules are being removed, if CCP comes out and says "Hey guys, we're removing all weapon BPOs" then yes, you all have a right to get mad, because that would be removing BPOs because BPOs not because it doesn't fit with the game any more.
Deceitful way? No a deceitful way would be removing the BPOs and then telling us about it, they've made a thread about them removing these four BPOs and how you'll be refunded, how else do you want them to tell you? A newsletter/post a year ahead of time? Would that be long enough for you to not think you've been backstabbed or something? No, CCP have been fair with this, more than fair.
- BPOs are still permanent unless they don't fit in with the rest of the game, I mean if an entire branch of items are being removed, you're not going to keep the BPO because NOBODY else will be able to have that item and it'll break the system.
-They're removing four items, because they don't fit with the game anymore, see above.
-The rest of the BPOs are fine, see above.
-Erm, you can get the BPOs of them already (well could) so really it's just an incentive for a final chance at getting an exclusive type.
