+1.
But as I've mentioned in other threads, the healthbars are technically there. Kind of.
The problem is that you only see them when the target is in healing range. That's... kind of a huge mistake, CCP. In fact, it's slightly higher on the list of huge mistakes than tying render distance and enemy marking into weapon range as tightly as you have. I'm pretty sure I should be able to light enemies up by looking at them when they're WELL outside my Shotgun's range. SMG range should be the minimum for anyone.
For Repair Tools specifically though, I'd like to see, when equipped, healthbars on all on-screen friendlies within maybe 5 - 10m even when you're not aiming at them, as well as teammates out to at least AR range lighting up with a healthbar when you aim at them. |

Yea I noticed that the other day. When looking at the side of an enemy tank, I had to point directly at it for it to register on my radar. If I pointed at the front or the back, instead of the middle, it did not register. |

The lack of health bars really hurts if you ever want to play a support role with a LLAV. You cannot see other vehicles health, a tanks health or even players health. So how am I meant to use that shield / armour repair that the logistics LAV comes with?
Hell I like to fit extra light repairs to my LLAV to help tanks. I would also LOVE a dedicated HAV logistics tank but that's another story.
TLDR - No health bars makes it very very hard and frustrating to run support roles. |

We need to see the health bars of at least our squad mates. Also I would like to see the name tags of my squad mates. Since you often run with several similar suits it's really hard to tell who is who.
When somebody calls me for reps, and I have to scan half the squad to find the individual... that sucks and can get me or the patient into real trouble.

I will say, when I pull out a sniper, I really appreciate the lack of health bars all over the screen. On the other side, I don't generally run a rep tool, but I can see this as being obnoxious, it was bad with the LLAV repper, but it has always been a pain to use.
Maybe get HUD options, each player choosing what info they want that they find pertinent. Having those options save to each suit would be pretty awesome... I would love to turn off the objective boxes while sniping. |

What we're really asking for is for them to show, but only when your fitting includes something that can repair other peoples health ... so your sniper wouldn't be affected unless you were carrying a repair tool or triage hives. |

It causes a lot of clutter for snipers to see through when the reds and blues are in a tight, close firefight.

Triage has taken a hit numerous times in the game to date. First with zero war points to installation/vehicle repair, ineffective injectors, poor deployment of injectors and now will the inability to efficiently evaluate repair triage priority.
I still carry a repair tool but I find myself using it less and less. I would rather earn my warpoints through healing and reviving. But in order to do that I need to be able to see who's armor is weak. As it stands now, painting a friendly to see their health is a weak mechanic at best. Especially because once I have switched to the repair tool the ability is lost altogether.
The best possible fix would be to give any player carrying a repair tool or triage nanohive the ability to see the health status of any friendly player within a 35m radius, to cover slightly more distance than the Repair Tool with the greatest range (Lai Dai Flux Repair Tool, 31.5m). |

I don't really want a radius as sometimes the squad splits off and I want to see which group needs my help more(which green dot (names) is the one calling for ammo,...).

This is a half-measure. I only bring out the repair tool when I have to, otherwise I have weapon (or other equipment) in hand to help defend/support my teammates. I need to see who in my immediate vicinity is low in armor, no matter what is in my hand. So I get what you are saying but it is not as effective.

Yeah we don't really need to see everyone across the entire map ... just those within reach ... ie. a bit further than the range of the best repair tool as RydogV suggests ... much further than that and we likely struggle to catch up to them anyway.
CCP Logibro wrote:I hear you. I'll be bringing it up when I meet with the dev teams later this week.
I understand your wanting to declutter the screen ... and the improved performance from less going on ... How about only showing people who aren't at full health ... My only concern is ... Are we going to end up being the laggy'ist role in the game because we're the only ones having to download live stats of everyone nearby ?
I understand the reasoning behind decluttering the display ... it's presumably a massive performance boost if I don't need to know how many hp everyone has got right now.
This could be one of the main reasons we're seeing such an improvement in hit detection and reduction in lag since 1.4 !
Might a better solution be some kind of "Needs Aid" indicator ... with a simpler traffic light system showing green for less than half shield, yellow for no shield and 10% armour gone, orange for 50% armour gone and red for 25% armour gone.
This would lighten the load on having to track exact hp values of everyone nearby yet still provide logis with information on who needs repairs and how urgently.
Could this be a more optimal solution ? |

Allow logi lavs more freedom with their reps to vehicles. Sucks to loose reps to your tank buddy because they went around light post. Also extends to infantry but at least you don't depend on cool down.
Locks also need to be faster and more obvious. Aloe us to set a priority of who gets reps. Currently it has a hard time deciding who gets reps if a bunch of friendlys are nearby. Allow us, or sy a better set of parameters for who gets reps first. Also allow us more freedom when using dual reppers. I want to take off repps on a single person without breaking lock on both.
I,m really looking forward to equipment based boosts
Lastly, give logis a bonus which keeps assault folk out of the logi class. I don't mind people using logi for killing, but don't nerf our class because assaults use the suit for more flexibility. Give us truly defined roles and we will be happy. |

Still equip my Core repper on most of my suits but even running in a full squad, it's used maybe 30% of the time it used to be since 1.4 was released.
Example: In the midst of a firefight, squad member called out for reps - spent at least a minute trying to find each other due to lack of player names and health bars, even when often looking directly at players at close range. After much "where exactly are you" dialogue, found out we were on completely different levels & once we'd finally met up, his armour had passively repaired fully anyway! - took us both out of the fight for much longer than it should have done.
We logis definitely require a better system for quickly recognising those requiring repair. Not sure health bars being directly linked to having the rep tool equipped would work, personally - we used to be able to make a split-second decision whether to run to an area with weapon equipped before quickly switching to repper or vice versa. |

Just a few random suggestions. Hell no. Dont sepperate the triage hives skillwise. Im not willing to spend more SP into something that i allready use on a regular base. And no to shield rep tools. Shield players allready have much better regen over armor repairs. Introducing shield reps would throw off again the fragile balance. |

Give us at least the health bars AND the name tags for our squad members. All the time! And for every player in the squad. Since the suits and loadouts can be very similar, this is essential for squad play. It's not only the medic who needs to know where everybody is. A good squad leader needs to know where his troops are, so that he can direct them in the right direction. You can't even read their nametags when they are to far away... that makes no sense for a game that's supposed to be squad based. Additionally give us the healthbars of nearby friendlys in a 30m radius when we have the repper equipped.
Maybe make it optional if you want to see every friendlys bars as soon as you have healing equipment in your inventory...

As I've said earlier it's probably a lot of the reason we're seeing a smoother game, since everyone isn't having to download detailed hp information about everyone in the battle.
If it would be too difficult to tie it to having specific equipment fitted ... perhaps it could be a trait of the logistics suits and vehicles, if that would be easier to code ... this isn't the ideal choice but if it means we can get a fix sooner I'm sure most would be happy with it until it dcan be tied to the triage equipment / modules.
Again ... some people still seem to be saying things liek 'When you're using a repair tool' ... THIS WILL NOT DO ... it needs to be when triage equipment is fitted to the suit you're using, otherwise I could be standing next to a heavy providing support fire with no idea that he's very low on armour and I could keep us both alive by stepping back into cover and locking a repair tool on him while he finishes everyone off.
Someone suggested changing the colour of names, that'd work, but I'd still like to see something like a couple of traffic light indicators showing shield and armour levels, maybe green for >75%, orange for 50-75%, yellow for 25-50% and red for <25% ... they don't need to be huge and can be tagged into the name line like ... #@Needless Sacermendor ... with some shield and armour symbols.
Also I think everyone should be named ... even red dots ... it makes calling targets easier, obviously only when they're scanned and visible to squad, but when they are their name should show, the shield n armour symbols could give vague target intel and when YOUR reticule is on them you get their full health bars.
So you're only downloading small amounts of info about the majority of people (16 combinations of 4 colours on 2 symbols) rather than 2 numbers in the hundreds ... the server knows how many hitpoints everyone has, but it only needs to send out a couple of colours and 1 set of bars for the one you're aimed at and we retain good performance and a decluttered display.
Anyone with a repair tool or triage hives equipped or operating a logistics vehicle gets these extra shield n armour indicators for everyone and anyone not equiped to provide repairs could get them just for scanned enemies until they have a reticule on them to bring up hp bars |

However I don't c wy it should be stuck to the reptool, it should be tighed to the logisticsuit. And the range should increase the more advanced suit you use.
Some ( snipers and assault ) are arguing about the klotter, well use a ASSULT/ heavy or Sqout for combat. This would define the LOgi suit some more and actually adding a flip side if you use it as a frontline combat suit.

Signed, it's a pain to rep since 1.4, nowadays I stick behind a good shooter and keep on repping him (unless by chance I see another teammate in dire straits, or a squad member yells for repair on comms), I feel like a buttplug ... How I would fix it, tie the ability to view healtbars to the suits or vehicules which were designed for it (logi suits and lavs), but don't show all the healtbars all the time just the ones were armor/shield (armor for suits, shield for lavs) is not full (this way the impact on lag and display would somehow be better than having all healthbars all the time). As for range, either the tools you have (could be an issue for triage nanohive) or the level of the suit/vehicule you're using (maybe the skill spent in those roles).

I agree that reppers should have it but for me it makes a big difference. Also, sometimes I rep Supply Depots. Why is it that when I have my Rep Tool out and looking at it, it will (sometimes) display the health # (in the lower left) but when I start repping, it goes away?
If we could see the actual numbers so when they stopped, I knew my target was at 100% health and not 99.9%.
And before anyone comments saying "Oh it's just .1%" let me ask you this...
How many times have you survived a quick battle with someone only to see that you had a displayed value of 0 shield and 0 armor?
Now imagine if I had repped you before hand and stopped at 99.9%....
Food for thought.... |

its not just health bars.. im having trouble telling enemy from foe also. there's got to be another way to show health bars. (even health bars were not safe from ccp's overnerfing) before it was terrible clutter. an idea i have is make it range based AND still show tags of enemy by aiming at them. also have it flash an allies heath bar when they are below 40% armor. easy right? |

CCP Logibro wrote:So, since we will be making changes in the future, I would love it if you guys kept up with the suggestions of what you want as a Logibro when trying to repair others. Keep them coming, it will help out when we bring the changes later on.
Came back for 1.6 and hey despite the promises CCP could not even even fix the HP/Rep bar bug/change. What the heck?
Fix your existing equipment + handling and general logi bugs, before u add new stuff. Here is a list of bugs i encounter on a daily basis.
General:
1) Switching equipment feels sluggish and unresponsive, soften/change animation locking and blending.
2) Map/Hud colors! I'm not color blind and its too damn hard to find your own squad members, change the color of hud/map icons to something i can see! Also slightly change size/color of deployed equipment, in Ambush maps u often cant see sh.. because 20 drop uplinks + animations block a whole map area.
3) Why are there no support modules for Logi equipment? Why cant we improve/lower/change the repair tool, as example?
4) Get more creative with equipment versions and add equipment support modules, that may change handling/strength/range.
Repair Tool:
1) No idea who came up with the plan to hide armor bar's for Logi. If i have a fit with a repair tool, show all damaged armor bars around me in a large radius. Don't base this display logic on the current equip selection, since we switch between equip/weapon all the time, but for me seeing armor damage has priority. Even this is not working always, i often repair other players, while seeing no damage at all, but i get repair xp/notes. So the system is not working reliably.
2) The repair link effect is not displaying 20% of the time, u need to stop, wait and relink. 3) The repair link effect is ugly as f.... ?? What happened here? 4) The repair full-screen effect on target is disturbing/annoying, tune it down or change it. 5) The link is way to easy to loose around corners, change the LoS check logic and soften it. 6) The repair tool should prioritize targets in front/under reticle. Damaged Squad members -> squad heavy's -> other damaged targets. Would be nice to have a sorting option for this, at least prioritize damaged targets, before undamaged!
Drop Uplink:
1) U can still drop a uplink, which than let players spawn under the world geometry, forcing them to suicide. How hard can it be to code a sphere/box check vs the ground mesh and make sure the spawn is above it? 2) Change drop-uplink color for your own squad, it should be visible what your squad logi did depoy! (also see general colors) 3) Give us more options here, all DU basically work the same.
Injector:
1) Using this thing still feels unresponsive/slow and the animation/time after "injecting" before we can use the repair tool feels too long. 2) Give us more options here, all injectors basically work the same. How about some range options here? (grenades/area effects)
Scanner:
1) Give us more valid options here, how about a version that color-code/show the scanned suite class?
In general is someone at CCP playing TF2? Compare the medic "fix" to the repair tool, its very responsive, has some cool secondary gameplay mechanic and there are actual variants to choose from. It also isn't lost so often and is easy to link again, its visually more pleasing too. I also don't have to hold the damn button always while linking, it links and stays linked!
Compare the engi gemplay to Logi, its much more fun mechanic wise. In Dust logi just "drops" stuff and runs around repairing. Can we plz have some more second to second gameplay mechanic other than "linking" the repair tool and trying to not break it on every damn corner?

Suggestions depend on whatever you guys really mean with the unlimited equipment glitch. That thread is full of legit questions and not a single blue tag feels like pointing out the "problem".
It's just a joke that we see blue tags asking for suggestions and all that call without them responding in a good informative way on other threads (like the one mentioned above), it's just feeling like you guys want to keep us happy and calm with just unmeaning-full posts like this (How many times are you guys going to post that you check these forums for suggestion and only pick out 1 idea out of a 1000 saying and telling us that the rest is on the back burner?) to keep our hopes up.
I thought you guys finally started to learn how not to approach this kind of stuff, but if I really need to do a suggestion:
Priority of my rep tool on squad mates so that random blueberries don't interrupt my repping by suddenly jumping in front of me. If there is a cluster of blue dots, make the rep tool lock on to the damaged blue dot and not the one with full health. |

So with 1.7 lurking around the corner any news for Logi's or are we once again forgotten by CCP? All i see are vehicle changes and some new guns?
No color hud chages? No Hp bar visibility changes? No new logi equip or bugfixes for the old? No reworked logi skills?
Btw i also noticed that finding out what squad mate i'm following is a lucky guess, since i cant set my own personal "target" indicator's and the stupid names are either not rendered at all or are so small, that all i can do is hoping this assault suite i'm trying to catch up to, is "john" and not "jimmy" who asked me to follow him....
