This is a half-measure. I only bring out the repair tool when I have to, otherwise I have weapon (or other equipment) in hand to help defend/support my teammates. I need to see who in my immediate vicinity is low in armor, no matter what is in my hand. So I get what you are saying but it is not as effective.

Forget the limitation. I may need to decide which group to run to and they may all be out of range in different directions. |

RydogV wrote:The best possible fix would be to give any player carrying a repair tool or triage nanohive the ability to see the health status of any friendly player within a 35m radius, to cover slightly more distance than the Repair Tool with the greatest range (Lai Dai Flux Repair Tool, 31.5m). Yeah we don't really need to see everyone across the entire map ... just those within reach ... ie. a bit further than the range of the best repair tool as RydogV suggests ... much further than that and we likely struggle to catch up to them anyway.

I understand your wanting to declutter the screen ... and the improved performance from less going on ... How about only showing people who aren't at full health ... I was going to say armour damaged, but if we're going to see shield repair tools n transporters n shield booster hives etc. then any damage display would be needed. |

Poonmunch wrote:CCP Logibro wrote:I hear you. I'll be bringing it up when I meet with the dev teams later this week. If you guys reinstate this feature, please make it an option. Or tie it to the rep tool, itself. It causes a lot of clutter for snipers to see through when the reds and blues are in a tight, close firefight. I agree that reppers should have it but for me it makes a big difference. Munch As a dedicated Logi and his CEO I approve of this request.
Lots of snipers don't carry rep tools, so tying it to Triage Nanohives and Rep Tools being carried would make most of us Logis happy. |

Surely someone on your QA team has even some passing knowledge of logistics/triage and would have noticed that it's incredibly difficult to triage when you don't have the information you need. This didn't 'get through' the way you are thinking about it. The QA process is not what you believe it to be. And please stop calling me Surely

My only concern is ... Are we going to end up being the laggy'ist role in the game because we're the only ones having to download live stats of everyone nearby ?
I understand the reasoning behind decluttering the display ... it's presumably a massive performance boost if I don't need to know how many hp everyone has got right now.
This could be one of the main reasons we're seeing such an improvement in hit detection and reduction in lag since 1.4 !
Might a better solution be some kind of "Needs Aid" indicator ... with a simpler traffic light system showing green for less than half shield, yellow for no shield and 10% armour gone, orange for 50% armour gone and red for 25% armour gone.
This would lighten the load on having to track exact hp values of everyone nearby yet still provide logis with information on who needs repairs and how urgently.
Could this be a more optimal solution ? |

Make it load everyone's healthbars within 20m or so, AND make it so when you line up your crosshairs on a friendly, REGARDLESS OF RANGE, it shows their healthbar. |

NO ... that's no use at all ... as has been said by many in this thread.
We shouldn't be required to switch to our repair tool or triage hives just to find out IF anybody needs repairs. |

Huge need for this to happen yesterday. Reppers aren't being used at all, which takes out a whole aspect of the game and screws players that have been focused on it. It's a major problem and needs to be fixed now, not 1.6! |

More like 30m. It should be more than the proto Flux. 20m seemed like a good "base" value. It could easily be adjusted upwards for longer-range Tools. And as long as thet arget you aim for ALWAYS lights up regardless of range, the longer-range tools would still have an option if needed. |

I would like to make sure that LLAV rep tools for infantry and vehicles are included in this. It is already obnoxious enough to try and pretend you are being useful with them. Please please please make sure they aren't forgotten. |

It's not necessarily healing but a 'I need reps' squad order or a 'I need ammo' would be cool |

Shield rep tool Separate armor repair hives from ammo hives. The repair hives should be another skill that comes off nano skill. Shield repair hives for then caldari peeps
When you have rep tools out there names changes color depending on how much health they have left so you can prioritize who needs it most. Also some type of audio cue when someone is at full health. Audio cue when you receive a guardian points.
Nano grenades (BTW these can not be restored with ammo hives.)
A repair tool made for vehicles and installations that repair more but has an overheating function to prevent abuse. A rep tool that heals more than the core rep tool with an overheating function to prevent abuse.
Just a few random suggestions. |
