My problem with aiming is that it only has a set speed with no acceleration. One extreme example of a game that has noticeable acceleration AKA weighted controls is Killzone 2. I would like there to be some acceleration like there is a battlefield...

The radius of the plasma the blaster is shooting out is too skinny and the damage is crap. Edit: I'm not asking for a splash radius increase, I'm asking for the radius of what the weapon fires to be increased.

Try assault forgeguns, the charge time is lower and you get more damage. Good for killing vehilces and infantry. Have a Heavy weapon damage mod and an assault SMG sidearm with atleast sidearm sharpshooter lv4. You should get better results with that.
