Just did a test run with Blaster Turrets on my Dropship, pathetic.
Had a great gunner with Advance blasters, we went in very low (as other players wanted us to, you know, limit us with just missiles). It didn't work. The main issue is the blasters would eventually get rid of someones shields, but it would overheat or their shields would just recharge.
- Buff Damage on all small blaster turrets
- Decrease overheat on Small blaster turrets
For the first one, the damage is pitiful on small blasters, the only time you ever see them used is on the Default LAV. Increase it would be great for all vehicle users. Second, I believe all small blasters actually have a higher overheating than the large Blasters, which is crazy. and needs to be halved its current one. |

They gotta fix the vehicle motion throwing the rounds of turrets all over the place. Currently you dont hit anywhere you are aiming. |

I agree blaster turrets need a little work, but my default LAV has a missile turret. How did you get a default blaster turret? |

Are they doing it by race? It would make sense for gallente to get blaster and caldari missile. |

But I'm Amarr and I got missile as default for my LAV. Perhaps because they don't have laser turrets yet. |

Right now there's a default gallente and Caldari LAV. If you're Gall or Min you'll get the Gallente one, if your Cal or Amarr you'll get the Caldari one.
At present this gives an advantage to Cal or Amarr characters. |

People need to learn to fire blasters in burst instead of going all out full auto like the tend to do- damage is pretty good where it is, but the range and accuracy are horrible |

Damage is awful on them. Try firing it out of a Dropship like someone suggested all Dropships have (which I'm not totally against). It overheats faster than a large turret as well which is crazy. |

Agreed but don't buff them too much though. Last thing I want to see is threads on why the blaster is op. |

Agreed. However, we will not get any meaningful results until the "inheritance" turret problem is fixed - the one where the vehicle movement throws off your aim. That single effect has made small missile turrets the top-dog in light vehicle combat bar none. Which is exactly what you don't want for a balanced, tactical shooter. |

If you're firing a ball of plasma, it should have a larger projectile than a railgun. That would allow you to better hit targets with it without the risk of making it the new Small Missile Turret. |

blasters arenGÇÖt range or accurate weapons in eve they are the worst at both of those they are however the most damaging guns in game. a buff to damage would be reasonable a buff to range or accuracy wouldnGÇÖt considering what they are |

i wouldnt want a buff to range or accuracy becuase they are blaster, short range powerful weapons, i do think they could use a buff to damage but not one to heat becuase for the same reason they need a buff to damage is the same reason, blaster are firing plasma, super charged heated matter.
but they are a vehicle mounted weapon they should have a comparable DPS to HMG im not very found of the nerf turrets idea becuase they are forge gun and HMG sized weapons why should they be weaker? the forge is all ready better than large and small rail turrets which is wrong. |

Again, don't change the damage or rate of fire. Just increase the projectile size to make it easier to actually get hits. It would still be a close range weapon with significant range falloff over distance, and would do that job better. |

I really don't like the sound of making the projectile bigger. I can hit things just fine, it's the damage that's awful with them compared to other turrets and weapons. |

Something like an autocannon would have a much higher rate of fire, so the disadvantage of having the rounds miss would be mitigated. In the presence of those, how do current blasters not become useless, even with a damage bonus? |

Currently there is no reason to use anything but missiles. Each weapon type needs a role.
Railguns for Anti Vehicle. Blasters for Anti Infantry. Missiles should be a balance between the two.
This is merely an Idea of how the weapon systems should be And these are all small turrets. =Railguns= Damage: 400hp Blast Radius: 0.5 Meters Blast damage: 50hp (Not applied to a direct hit) Range: 1000+ Charge time: 3sec (Before firing) Rate of fire: 20rpm (10rpm w/ heat management) Heat per charge: 35% (3 continuous shots) Inaccuracy: 0.2-1 degree Vehicle movement effect: Medium
=Blasters= Damage: 20hp Blast Radius: 0 Meters Blast damage: N/A Range: 150m Charge time: N/A Rate of fire: 250rpm (150rpm w/ heat management) Heat per round: 2-3% (maybe less) Inaccuracy: 5x+2 degrees (x being seconds of firing) Vehicle movement effect: None
=Missiles= Damage: 200hp Blast Radius: 3 Meters Blast damage: 100hp (Not applied to a direct hit) Range: 300m Charge time: 7sec (After firing) Rate of fire: 9rpm Heat per charge: NA Inaccuracy: 2 degrees Vehicle movement effect: High
From the above examples the Railguns should be decently effective on vehicles. Obviously a single small railgun cannot kill another Vehicle alone but it would be an effective deturent as well as a help with other AV weaponry on the field. A railgun could not one hit a heavy but could one hit a lot of infantry ONLY on a direct hit.
A Blaster would be very effective against infantry. I think the range on my example is a bit high but I'd like dropships to be able to use them as well. Perhaps they could have no blast shield on them so gunners could be very suseptable to infantry. Of course, at the long ranges their inaccuracy would make them uneffective against individual infantry but very effective to disperse groups. There should be reduced damage on vehicles.
Missiles should be all around in this example. They have short range and require the vehicle to move slow to have decent accuracy. Their low rate of fire makes them a weapon that should be fired at the right opertunity. The weapon would be great against close knit groups and still effective against vehicles, though alone wouldn't hurt them. For most infantry it would take two or three hits to kill them. Tanks and dropships gunners would have to use teamwork to kill infantry.

All gunners are already suseptable to infantry. If you're in a DS turret, you can get killed by lasers, forgeguns, snipers, ARs, and every other infantry weapon. |
