Both of them are decent vehicles, I fly all of the shield variants, my fastest one even has two power plants. you just have to practice, and do what you think is best.

armor vehicles in general benefit from from active mods, while shield works best with passive. it would be wise to fit a second active damage mod, and know when to hide for a sec to wait for cooldown
