I have the same because I'm lazy. One of my alts is pure gallente (running around with a plasma cannon right now; guess it's not really pure until there's a sidearm for it) while the other is pure minmatar (Currently using a MD and SMG)

I tried something similar near the end of beta. However, I went with a scout and always lurked just outside of AR range (I did crouch and stand still, though). It was far more effective than sitting on the same hill all battle.
