For instant battles, I don't use anything above standard anymore, but I'm getting a lot out of my cheap fits, despite the cost. What does everyone else use to save ISK yet be effective?
I recently went 7/6 with 2122 WP with a standard logi. The fit-
Logistics M-1 Scrambler Rifle Sleek Locus Grenades Militia Repair Tool Militia Nanite Injector Nanohive Basic Shield Energizer Militia Shield Extender Basic Armor Plates Militia Shield Regulator
The combination of armor plates, shield regulator, and shield energizer makes the suit incredibly durable. When my shields get hit, the armor plates give me enough eHP to make it to cover, while the regulator and energizer make sure I'm back to full shields in no time. |

For ambush with lots of city fighting, militia shotgun on bpo scout.
Even in a militia suit you can die 10+ times and still profit. |

I believe my cheapest fit that I regularly use goes something like this (not at PS3, can't check).
Covenant suit Plasma cannon Basic shield extender Complex damage mod Flux nades Nanohive Basic CPU upgrade Militia armour repper
About 10k isk cost. |

I enjoy playing with this one:
Dragonfly scout Militia Shotgun Toxin SMG Militia Locus Grenades Militia Armor Repairer Militia Profile Dampener Militia Shield Extender Remote Explosives
Using BPOs: 1,500 ISK Not using BPOs: 4,055 ISK(using militia Minmatar light frame, militia SMG and no shield extender as the suit doesn't have a high slot). |

I've switched to this for my Isk grinding/general pub matches:
MLT heavy suit MLT shield extender MLT armor plates Std forge gun MLT SMG AV/AP/or Flux Nades
Runs about 3k a pop, usually bring in 200k Isk a skirmish, generally positive kd/r. Much more profitable than tanking, more fun/profitable than starter suits. |

MLT Minmatar light Dren shotgun Toxin SMG basic uplink MLT kinetic catalyzer basic cardiac regulator
If memory serves me, that is under the 4,000 ISK mark... and great fun. Get rid of the uplink and I think it is around 1500 ISK
Playing my normal role: Dren sentinel DAU-2/A Assault Forge Toxin SMG Basic flux grenade Basic armour plate ADV armour repairer
Around the 16000 ISK if I recall correctly although this can be under 10k if the basic forge gun is used |

My best non blueprint so far:
Militia caldari medium 2x militia shield extenders 1x basic AR(those 12 bullets matter) 1x militia Smg 1x militia locus grenade 1x basic armor plate
Comes to about 5.1k isk and if maxed out Armor/shield upgrades has 311 shield and 216 armor.
Blueprints included:
"dragonfly" Assault 1x "toxin" AR 1x miltia Smg 2x Militia shield extenders 1x militia locus grenade 1x basic armor plate 1x militia armor rep
Basically the same, except its only 3.35k and has an armor rep.
Hope these help someone, It always bothers me that such cheap fits get overlooked. At the beginning of the build and even now occasionally I kill proto gear in these fits in 1v1. |

I like running a free Raven assault, 2x BPO extenders, 2x BPO plates, BPO AR and SMG, BPO nades and rep tool.
I get a little fancy at times and go with a 6k isk fit w 2x enhanced regulators, AV nades and a hive but still have to die 40 times to come up negative in a match. |

Runs about 3k a pop, usually bring in 200k Isk a skirmish, generally positive kd/r. Much more profitable than tanking, more fun/profitable than starter suits. I think a Basic Plate and Basic Heavy Dropsuit would net you 126 more armour at about, I don't know, 1,200 ISK more per suit?
Militia Heavy has 304 base armour instead of the 405 Basic and beyond receive. Likewise MLT Plates give 40 armour instead of STD's 65 while sharing the same penalty. The base armor is also affected by the Armor Upgrade skill so it amounts to more than 101 armour gained in practice.
Just seems like paying that bit more for what amounts to 150 more armour would pay off, increased survivability means living through some engagements you'd have otherwise lost the suit to. Strikes me as a very cost-efficient boost. Only minor caveat is if you don't want to expend the 25k SP required for Plates I and Amarr Heavy I.
As for my own... I don't really have a practically free suit I use all that much but the closest contenders: -Recruit Caldari BPO (MLT Caldari w/ +75 armour) -Recruit AR -KLO Scrambler Pistol -Compact Nanohive -Enh Kin Cat -2 MLT Extenders -Locus Grenades -Cost: 3k ISK Hardly ever use, just sits there as an option.
This one's more expensive but sees actual use: -Basic Minmatar Assault -MLT Shotgun -TT-3 Scrambler Pistol -Compact Nanohive -Flux grenades -3 Basic Extenders -Enh Kin Cat. -Cost: 10k ISK Reasonably fast, reasonably durable. Can support with Flux bombardment, provide an ammo source, engage in short-range firefights with TT-3 or flank and get in the enemy's face with a shotgun. Couldn't really recommend it without Biotics V and at least Kin Cats III though.
The 30k ADV Basic variant is slightly faster with a Quantum Active Scanner instead of the Nanohive, pistol is downgraded though, KLO.
...Not really an all-out economist. I won't run exorbitantly priced fits to eke out slightly more efficiency but if the more expensive kit is a large jump over what precedes it or adds unique functionality then it's in the running. Wiyrkomi Triage Nanohives and Assault Forge Guns are the main two that come to mind. |

I will use this but replace the profile dampener with a kinetic module, and use a scaner instead of remote explosives. Costs 2100 ISK per suit.
I will also use a Raven full BPO fit with Exile AR and Toxn SMG for no cost. |

2x complex extenders brings the suit to 599 HP total, at the cost of about 12-13k ISK (can die about 10 times and still go positive). |
