I would love to start using vehicles besides the free lav, but I can't see a way to use them without breaking the bank. How should one use vehicles? |

Carefully if the isk is short. My tank character just about manages to make enough isk to keep a tank fitted at all times but today I had a bad day and lost 4 of them so I had to go out on foot to make enough to fit a new one. I refuse to move isk from this account to my tank account or I'd be broke. |

At this point, I use vehicles when I'm with a squad, or when I actually care about winning (factional warfare); otherwise, I just run cheap/free infantry and build up money. I have a completely free logi fit with a nanite injector and repair tool (free because of AUR BPOs and stuff from past events); it has gotten over 1000 WP and 300,000 ISK in a single battle before, and it costs nothing. |

Good tankers are self sufficient when funding tgere tanks is concerned. I run tanks in every game and average 2mill profit every day. But if your struggling to fund your vehicle habbits id recomend setting up a good murdertaxi ( logistics lav ) iv went 27/0 in my chabby and uo to 17/0 in my limby . |

I have both a HAV and a LAV alt and they are always broke. I run free/cheap infantry suits to make money so I can break out the expensive vehicles. I'll also run cheap vehicles but they tend to die too easy and aren't very cost effective. I have a 20k ISK LAV which is fun to throw around but if I lose more than 7-8 in a match I'm losing money. |

IMHO the key is to not expect to run them 24/7. have a cheap medium / AR suit to fall back on. mine costs 10k, and I consider that kinda high. you can usually lose a MIL vehicle once a match while still making a profit, or at least losing very little. over time that one vehicle a match will last longer and longer and you can think about pulling out nicer ones.
even with a solid wallet, you should think twice about calling out a second vehicle when the enemy AV has already made short work of your first. when i'm on my forge gun character, i almost feel bad when i run into a vehicle pilot going on tilt, calling out tank after tank for me to farm. |

Get a Charybdis. For like 3 mil SP, you can get a nigh unkillable one. Lose no more than 1 every 2 matches, and u profit. Tanks take around 7 matches without loss to profit. Dropships are impossible. Dont use dropships. |

7 matches to profit from tanking?? Most of my gunlogi fits sit between 800k to 1 mill normally I profit on the 4th or 5th game pending on hiw much I destroy or kill . If im running falchions sure 7 games for a profit but 5 max for my gunlogis |

Uh, MIL dropships are like 68k and they do their job just fine. Mine's <100k fitted, I use it every match and I manage to safely recall it when I'm done most of the time.
I'd agree with you if you said "don't skill up dropships". |

It is a sad fact, but one thing to also remember to remain profitable is that winning and losing has no effect on earnings in public matches. ItGÇÖs all about ISK damage dealt and WP.
This impacts you in two different ways as far as profitability
1) GÇô You as a vehicle driver are a big paycheck to the other team and AV will hunt you relentlessly over and above doing what may be necessary to win the match.
2) GÇô If your intention is to be profitable you as a vehicle drivers goal should be to amass war points so that you have a high leaderboard position which effects your % of earnings. Winning or losing doesnGÇÖt matter and maintaining your assets (i.e. not getting popped) is your number one priority even if your Pub match team and win loss ratio suffers for it.
For the record, I donGÇÖt much like the system but we work with what we have.

Set yourself a limit. base you numbers on vehicle cost, say 10 tanks at 600k=6million, after they are purchased take note of your bank, if you use 10 before getting 6 back, use starter fits to get the rest of the money back. Then I add a buffer, for me its 5mil. So if I want 10 tanks, I must buy them, but replace bank with 11million to allow the purchase of more.
Sounds silly, but it keeps me in the green. |

Skilling up dropships isn't foolish, although having one that's 778000 Isk and losing it is bad, tanking is far more expensive. I love my Assault Dropship (not on this character) but it's tough when you're not running it right. |

my strongest fit cost me almost 2 mil ISK, I lost quite a few today and am down about 10 mil ISK from what I had before today.
with the new instant ISK transfer system, this has made tanking a little easier. you should NEVER have all your ISK on your tank character, you should always have your ISK with an alt that you barely ever use, then continue to send ISK to the alt so you can have a personal bank that contains all your ISK.
my weakest fitting costs about 1 mil ISK.
basically it takes me several if not at least 6 matches to make profit from my strongest tank, so we are always tight on cash. |

My strongest fit oddly enough only costs me about 800-900k and my glass cannons are the most expensive . That being said my falchion costs between 1.8 to 2 mill. |

This. I got a Scout BPO that (although since scout suits suck) can do some work for me. |

Run with more people who run vehicles. Not everyone has sp in av and those that do can't be everywhere at once. They can either spread their fire around and not kill anything or they can focus on one of you at a time and then you have a decent chance of them not picking you. Either way you have a much greater chance of surviving the match than if you're the only vehicle out there. |
